If you really think about it, all we ever have is right now. The past is always past, and the future is the future, and we only ever meet them in the present. Yet how many times do we allow the past or the future to keep us from fully enjoying what is happening right now? Eckhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now” is a great read about this subject, and he suggests that not being present (or in the now) is a chronic problem in the minds of many people in society today. (See a link to his website under “Other Cool Sites” on the GP sidebar). He recommends that we take some time each day to think about nothing except what is happening right now, and then let your mind be free of both past and future for that time. What we discover is that this can be done through meditation, exercise, or any other activity where we focus completely on the present moment to the exclusion of the past and future. What happens is an amazing transformation where your worries evaporate, your vibration raises, and you feel better. Tolle askes his readers: “What problem do you have right now?” Any answer referencing the past or future is revealed as a false problem. He asks again, “What problem do you have right now?” As you realize that you will react in the now if a problem does arise, and that in the moment you will know what to do, then you can accept fully that, indeed, there is really no problem right now. Do your best to live in the Now today. Live, breathe, move, feel, and be grateful right Now. Enjoy the power of Now, and the magic of Now. Imagine having everything you want right NOW. Feel the exhilaration of how it feels to be right where you want to be, which is always in the Now. Exercise is a necessary ingredient to a healthy lifestyle, and making your exercise fun is a key component to doing it over the long term. When exercise is fun, fitness is easy. Haven’t you noticed that the things you actually like to do are always easy to do, and the things you dread the most are almost impossible to bear? We understand the mindset that pre-paves both of these experiences, yet it can be difficult to break out of old habits of thought to create and sustain a new vibration around exercise and fitness. Sometimes all you need is a little “get up and go” combined with a fun game to make it easier. Here is what we suggest: Take a Gratitude Walk. When we can, the GP Staff leaves the building together for a fitness walk, and lately we have been playing a gratitude and appreciation game we call “find the best thought.” You can do this with friends, or even all by yourself. Here’s how it works. Look at something…anything…that catches your attention. It can be a house in the neighborhood you are walking through, or a car, or a bird, or a trash can…anything you observe in your immediate environment. Call out, or say to yourself “I see a house…and I like its (fill in the blank).” So for example, someone might say, “I see a car, and I appreciate its deep blue paint job.” If you see something and you can’t think of anything to be grateful or appreciative about concerning it, find the best thought you have access to about it. This might sound something like “I see a dented car, and I appreciate that it’s not mine!” You may get a laugh from the crowd, or you may just chuckle to yourself; but you did well finding something that felt true, and something that was the best thought you could articulate in the moment. The next thing you see, if you stick to reaching for gratitude and appreciation, will probably provide better aspects to praise. Look for them, find them, and articulate them. Before long, the vibration of the group (or within you) will start to rise and expand to a very connected and blissful place. One word of caution, however. This game can be played in the opposite direction, where you put down, make fun of, or become critical of the things you see. This will expand the vibrational range downward to thoughts that feel worse and worse the more you think them. The beauty is that you get to choose the direction that your thoughts flow, and when you feel better, everything looks, tastes, feels, and smells better. Your fifteen-minute walk that used to feel like two hours will feel more like fifteen minutes, and the fun you have raising your vibration will become the immediate payoff for your exercise. Instead of thinking “I really should take a walk today” you will begin to crave your Gratitude Walk instead. Go ahead and get out today, alone or with a few close friends, and enjoy this amazingly wonderful day! Be Well, –GP Staff

So when you say yes to anything with your words, thoughts, or actions…the Universe agrees with you and gives you more of it. Likewise, when you say “NO” to something unwanted and give it your attention through words, thoughts, or actions…the Universe also agrees with you and gives you more of it. So it is impossible to give your attention to anything without asking the Universe to bring you more of it…wanted and unwanted events and experiences flow to you by your simple attention to them. We have an incredible gift to choose the reality we want to manifest here on planet Earth. No one chooses for you, and no one can vibrate for you either. You attract everything to you, and there are no exceptions. The bottom line here is that you are always in the driver’s seat of your life, and you should take the wheel and start steering with gratitude and appreciation, focusing on where you are going. Don’t keep waiting to see something “real” materialize before you believe it can come to you; rather, believe it is coming to you, and look for the small but still very real hints and clues that it is on the way. Believe it first, and then look for it to be attracted to you through the Law of Attraction. Enjoy the feeling of already having the thing you have imagined. Being grateful and appreciative for the things in your life (as well as the things you know are coming soon) is the engine that drives your amazingly-unfolding well being and your ever-expanding prosperity. You may already have a habit of waking each day and finding reasons to be happy and grateful. You may already find it easy to see the best in any situation. You may be getting really good at using affirmations, and you may be able to add to our Gratitude Board with little mental effort. Good for you. So today we ask you this question: “Are you grateful for YOU?” Can you easily create a list of things that you appreciate about yourself? Are you able to give yourself credit for the amazing person you are today, regardless of the expansion you are experiencing today and will experience eternally? Are you aware of the unique gifts that only you can bring to this Earth, and are you willing to own, honor, and proclaim these to the Universe? Some people find this difficult because they don’t want to seem egotistical or self-centered. But if you don’t have a healthy ego, you may be holding thoughts that contradict the way Source feels about you. And when you feel differently about yourself than the way Source feels about you, you are going to feel bad, unworthy, disconnected, and irritated. In fact, if you have been doing diligent work to be aligned with appreciation, and you feel like you have your Attitude of Gratitude working most of the time…yet you still notice some disconnection or have been having some less-than-wanted things appearing in your experience…it may be time to be grateful for YOU more of the time. Try to see if you can make a list of the things that you appreciate about yourself, and see if it is easy or difficult to do this exercise. Do it everyday, mentally or on paper, for a week and you may see a positive vibrational shift in your life. Source Energy loves you, thinks you are amazing, always sees you as worthy, and has already become everything you want to be. Relax, appreciate, and be grateful for YOU. Movies like “The Secret” made the phrase “Attitude of Gratitude” a common quote in blogs and conversations about the Law of Attraction. So what is the intent behind this “attitude of gratitude?” If you have been reading the posts on this site, you know that we encourage gratitude thinking, and we especially promote moving into the feeling of appreciation as well. Gratitude and appreciation are vibrations that feel good, and feeling good brings you into alignment with Source energy. Gratitude puts you in a place to find thoughts that expand your current vibration, and reviewing a mental list of the gifts in your life, on a daily basis, strengthens the power of these good-feeling vibrations. Having an “attitude” may simply mean that you don’t try to practice being grateful, but rather you build up habit strength around the practice. Attitudes seem to come and go without our work at maintaining them, but in reality, an attitude is just a thought you keep thinking over time. So if you want to feel good…and we expect that you want to…then put your attention on the gifts you already have manifested into your life, and then milk them for every positive thought they contain. Enjoy and appreciate the things you have. Be optimistic about the things you want that are still on the way. Be full of connection and love, reaching as far as you can to expand your vibration to the best-feeling thought you have access to. Know that most everything that needs to be done is already being done by the Universe, and that your job is to relax and allow your well-being to flow to you in an endless stream of prosperity and connection. When you are in a funk and you know you are feeling a bit disconnected, think about these steps and see if you can turn it around:
1. NOTICE how you feel. A headache or a minor irritation are real indicators that you are holding onto a thought that is not letting in your bliss and gratitude. Just notice, and take note: I am feeling (fill in the blank).
2. RELAX and breathe. The thing that has your attention is irritating you, and you feel less than good, but it isn’t a real emergency. Most of the problem is your own holding on so tight. Let go of what ever stress you are feeling.
3. REDIRECT your thoughts. Instead of trying to stop thinking about the irritating thing, think about something completely different. Find the best thought you have access to, and think that thought for a few moments. Notice how it attracts yet another better-felling thought. Think that one for a while.
4. ENJOY the relief. Finding a better thought will feel better than the thought you held moments previously. You will be able to feel relief in all ways, and you may even make a headache go away, or a tough situation evaporate.
5. EXPAND into gratitude. Once you feel better, start focusing on all the gifts in your life. Start paying your connection forward by telling yourself and others what you appreciate about your life and experience. Spread your esteem in every direction, to all corners of the Universe.

The old song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” has a good amount of wisdom to offer us today. When you are happy, everything you want is flowing to you from the Universe, and is it always being managed masterfully by the Law of Attraction. You have a tremendous amount of power whenever you can get to a place of feeling good, and a powerful step toward feeling good is feeling grateful. When you acknowledge your gratitude, you drop the resistance you hold toward the world. When you feel glad to be where you are, you ask the Universe to align you with wonderful things. When you hold onto thoughts that uplift the spirit, you find your place in the eternity of the moment. When you expand your list of things that are going well for you, you invite even more prosperity into your experience. Don’t worry, be happy is a good baseline from which to approach your experience today. But if happy is not in your immediate vibrational range, simply count your blessings and wait for the floodgates of happiness to be right behind the gratitude. In fact, if gratitude could be your baseline for the way you feel, bliss would be your experience even more of the time. SO don’t worry…be Grateful. Do you want to be helpful to the people in your experience? Do you hope to affect positive changes in the lives of everyone you encounter? Do you want to be of value to others through your experience on this planet? Then your most important job is to find and enjoy your connection to your own Source Energy, and to let it flow through everything you do. It has been said that one person who is connected to Source is more powerful than many others who are not. When you are not feeling your full connection to Source you are more likely to see others in their disconnection as well. Another way of saying this is that your unhappiness can never help another to be happy. Only through your happiness can you see others in the same light, and only through your connection to Source can you guide even one person back to their connection. When you take the time to focus yourself into your connection, you become a beacon of light radiating out in every direction. You become a transmitter of connected vibrations. You attract unto yourself others ready to be connected as well. Your greatest gift to give to others is your own centered connection. At Gratitudeplanet.com we think it’s human nature to look into the world and hope to see great things everywhere. It certainly IS great to be in beautiful settings of nature, or with friends you adore. But when you can’t find connection by observing your surroundings, it is your job to look inward and find the connection you want and deserve. You can imagine the beautiful scenes, and picture the people you love and appreciate. Take time to be quiet and still, and turn your thoughts to things that feel good while you think them. Be steadfast to the thoughts you enjoy thinking when you think them. Expand your imagination to include thoughts and images that transcend your present “reality” so that you can “see” yourself doing the things you want to do, driving the car you want to own, or kissing the mate you want to attract. Being connected to Source Energy is an inside job, and it’s the most important job you have; all good things will flow to you when you are connected to your Source. So if you find yourself observing someone or something that makes you disconnect from your inner being, stop, redirect, and remember that you have the ability to turn it around. In fact, you are the ONLY one who can turn it around for YOU. Once you get into the habit of feeling better, it won’t feel like a job at all. You have heard of the people who are “glass half full” types, as well as the “glass half empty” types. You probably know which you are, and because you are reading this page, you are either a “glass half full” type, or are hoping to find out how to be one. Practicing being grateful for a glass half full is a necessary first step to allowing everything you want to flow to you through Law of Attraction. However, what happens when your glass is clearly less than half full? Is that the time to stop trying, be negative, and complain that your glass is almost empty? The answer, of course, is no. When your glass is less than half full, it’s time to start talking (or thinking) about how much you like the glass. Appreciate the container that holds the rest of the liquid, and for that matter, appreciate the liquid regardless of how much you see in the glass. When your glass is almost empty, make the best of it. Law of Attraction can’t tell the difference between your thoughts (and vibrations) and any hard and fast “reality.” Law of Attraction brings you what you focus upon, even if it is not “real.” A glass less than half full has many qualities worth giving your full and grateful attention, if you’ll just be easy and play the appreciation game. Play up what feels good, ignore the things that feel bad, and tell your story the way you want it to be. That way, the glass is not even a significant part of your vibration. You stop depending on the glass, and instead you focus on your own wellness, prosperity, and allowing. Law of Attraction will then bring you many over-flowing glasses. There are days that everyone has when it’s hard to be grateful. Something has gone wrong, or people are getting in your business, or some problem has your attention to the point that you can’t feel a bit of bliss. In these times, refer to the following list of things to be grateful for. Each is an often-overlooked miracle occurring on a daily basis:
1. Thank you for my re-emergence from sleep back into a waking state. (I’m still alive)
2. Thank you for the sun coming up again this morning.
3. Thank you for my lungs that keep me breathing all night without my attention.
4. Thank you for my heart that keeps blood flowing to my body at all times.
5. Thank you for the people in my life who love and support me.
6. Thank you for the space I call home, and for the safety and comfort it affords.
7. Thank you for the food I eat that keeps me healthy and strong.
9. Thank you for the plants and animals of this planet that help balance the environment.
10. Thank you for my mind, thoughts and emotions that help me know when I am connected to Source Energy.

People who start awakening to the power of their thoughts will sometimes feel a burden at first. This is because they think they need to control their thoughts so that something bad doesn’t happen to them. Your thoughts DO matter, but you don’t ever need to worry about it. Simply appreciate and be grateful for the things you have in your life, and when you fall off the gratitude wagon…just get back on as soon as you can. It might seem harder at first as you learn to see the best in each aspect of your life, but it gets easier fast. Thoughts have vibrational power, and any thought that is practiced over time gains the momentum to manifest into your experience. Another way to say it is that you get the essence of what you think about the most. A disconnected thought doesn’t manifest immediately, so just cast it off by changing your focus to something that feels better. Soon you will find yourself thinking thoughts that feel good most of the time, without any apparent effort on your part. The vibrational pull of a thought, when practiced for a short time, attracts others like it, and it builds and builds. When you do this, you will have become a positive thinking addict; your life will unfold in amazing ways, and exactly the way you intend it to. The easy way will be the good-feeling, grateful and appreciative way. The magic will flow, and it won’t be a burden at all. Enjoy this most amazing day. We are grateful for YOU! – GP Staff

We sometimes hear people talking about affirmations (positive statements said out loud or to oneself) as if they are a substitute for normal thinking that you might choose throughout the day. At Gratitude Planet we endorse the use of affirming statements, but primarily when used the following way:
1. Choose a statement that feels good to you, but not one that feels untrue to you. It needs to stretch your beliefs a little, but not be so far out of your own realm of possibility that you contradict the statement immediately in your mind.
2. Repeat the affirmation out loud or to yourself as many times as you can while staying focused on the good feeling it creates.
3. Allow the affirmation to attract another affirmation. It will pop into your mind effortlessly, and you will know you have attracted a good one if it feels just as good as the first, or even better.
4. Repeat the new affirmation, and see where it leads you.
5. Have fun and enjoy the energy these positive statements can bring to you. They can jump-start your day, or they can energize you when you have a disconnected moment. One word of caution, however: if you can’t find a thought or statement that feels good, just search your consciousness for one that feels a little better. In very little time you can attract thoughts that feel good, and you are back on track to allowing the life you deserve and desire. In other words, don’t repeat an affirmation that is out of your vibrational range because it will only reinforce your belief that you are far from where you need to be.
These affirmations are like thought vitamins. Use them daily for your morning boost, and then ride their energy all day. If you need more, pop a few more. They are safe, non-toxic, healthy, and free for the taking! Who doesn’t want that?
Here are some examples of affirmations, just in case you want to get started and can’t think of any right away:
- I relax and allow everything I want to flow to me in this moment.
- I love my body and trust its wisdom.
- I am always in the right place at the right time.
- My life is unfolding perfectly, one step at a time.
- My body always finds its perfect balance. I am healthy, fit, and flexible.
- I allow the well-being of the Universe to cleanse my cells with pure, positive energy.

Good Morning!
Did you know that every time you think a thought, it goes out to the Universe like a powerful radio signal. The essence of this thought attracts other thoughts like it, and the Universe sends back to you things that match the essence of your thought. If you practice and repeat and think the essence of this thought long enough, you will begin to see evidence in your life of manifestations of the essence of the thought. So if you want ANYTHING in your life, you can have it. Think a thought about having the thing, condition,or quality you want to attract into your life, and then keep thinking it. Practice feeling like you already have it. Tell your family and friends it’s on the way. Look for even minor evidence of its appearance. And when you begin to see it, smile and enjoy the feeling of creating your experience exactly the way you want it to be.
