Do I Need To Be Specific In My Gratitude?

If you have been working with the Law of Attraction and practicing gratitude and appreciation, you know the value of aligning with the feeling of what you have been asking for. Some people worry, however, that they need to be specific about what they are happy about. If they are trying to create a new job, for example, they might think that they need to give continuous thanks for the new job on the way. There is nothing wrong with doing this, but it can have diminishing returns, depending on the way it feels. When you believe something is on the way, and then whip up excitement because you know it’s coming soon, there is great power behind your thoughts and feelings. But when you don’t really believe it’s coming soon, and you feel a need to affirm that it is, you may feel worse by using words that are too far away from how you really feel. The key is to use the best feeling words you can that tell a story that you want to hear. The words you say to yourself need to be in a range that make you feel better. Saying words you absolutely don’t believe won’t move you closer to where you want to be, and may even reinforce a feeling of separation with yourself.

What seems to work for many people is guiding everything they do based on how it feels when they are doing it, and readjusting as they go. If you are creating that new job, then talk about the new job in terms that feel good. If you find yourself going down a path that doesn’t feel so good, change direction and find different words about the job. If you find, however, that no matter what you say about the new job you feel worse…simply don’t talk about it. Instead, find another subject that you can talk about that DOES feel good. Don’t worry about creating the job at this point. You have asked the Universe and Law of Attraction for the new job, and it is ready to appear in your experience. But it can’t come if you are feeling disconnected. A general feeling of happiness, gratitude, and contentment is all you need to practice. The rest will unfold perfectly. Today, just relax and know that all is so very well. Enjoy this most amazing day!  Chris-GP

  2. Interesting. This goes right along with your post “You can’t get there from here.” If we use words that are too far out from the way we feel, then we are really doing is failing to vibrate to those things that we desire. We are vibrating to the things that we don’t desire. Is that right?
