Forget “Keeping Up With The Joneses”…Keep Up With Yourself!

Sometimes we look around at other people and we get the feeling that we should be experiencing our world in the same way that they are. This is the classic “keeping up with the Joneses” syndrome where you never feel like your life is as good as someone else’s life. Because Law of Attraction gives you more of what ever you focus upon, is it not to your advantage to look at anyone this way, because you can’t help but feel bad comparing the two experiences. A lot of stress and disconnection is created by people who strive to keep up with everyone else. The truth is, you can’t keep up with anyone else when it comes to creating your own reality and attracting joy into your life. What you think you see others experiencing in their own lives is simply a manifestation of what they have attracted and allowed. YOU are doing the same, and you are receiving based on your personal vibrational alignment with who you have become. When you strive to be in alignment with a vibration you have not expanded into, only frustration and disconnection can be your experience.

Not keeping up with others is a good idea. Not keeping up with yourself is a bad idea. Every time you experience contrast in your life, you know what you don’t want, and you define more clearly what you DO want. When you define what you DO want, your vibrational self takes on an expansion that equals the degree of the asking. In other words, if you get really, really sick, vibrationally you become very, very healthy. At this point you are not going to feel good at all, because there are literally TWO yous: the sick one and the healthy one. These two vibrations do not match, and your emotional guidance system will tell you that there is discord in your vibration with yourself. You will feel like crap. The only real choice you have, if you want to be a joyful and expanding human on planet Earth, is to keep up with yourself, and give your full attention to becoming a vibrational match to your healthy self. You can’t undo what you have become, by the way. You either align with it, or you feel bad. Simple. Change (for the better) or suffer where you are until you are so unhappy that you are pushed to change somehow. Why not save yourself the struggle and give your full attention to matching your own vibrational expansion?

So in summary, you can never align with someone else’s vibrational expansion, because it isn’t yours. Don’t bother keeping up with what others have created. Instead, pay close attention to who you have become, and stand ready to be like the latest and greatest version of YOU! Just by living and experiencing life you have helped create the very best edition of who you can possibly be right now. Relax, make peace with where you are, and notice how you feel. If you feel good (or better) you are aligning vibrationally with the new you. Just keep up with you. May you fully enjoy this most amazing day!  Chris-GP

Practice Your Allowing Through Stretching!

Happy New Year Everyone! I was doing my yoga routine this morning and came to a new understanding of how allowing works. Remember that the Law of Attraction (LOA) works in a three step process: You Ask (automatic), Source Answers (not your work), and You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!). I talked about this in a recent post. You can read that post by clicking HERE if you like. I added a step to the three-step process ’cause I think people need to relax more and let themselves feel good while doing this. These were my “new” steps to make Law of Attraction work for you:

1A. You Ask (automatic through living on planet Earth)

1B. Make Peace With Where You Are, Who You Are, And What You Have. (your business)

2. Source Answers (not your work)

3. You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!)

Yet today, I had a new insight. You can do this even sitting at your computer. I was doing yoga, and I went into a pose and was holding it. Sometimes I go really deep into the pose, and sometimes I go in just enough to notice a little resistance in my muscles. When I go really deep, it can really hurt. If I go in just a bit, it is more of a dull sensation, and not really painful. Now, I decided today to just go into a stretch only enough that I noticed a little amount of resistance or sensation. As I noticed the resistance (step ONE A), I stayed there and changed my focus to my breathing and away from the resistance (step ONE B) and then affirmed that Source Energy had created a new me that had no pain in this stretch (step TWO), and then I noticed the resistance disappear! (step THREE). So in little more than 20 seconds I went from feeling resistance, relaxing and making peace with me, and allowing the new me without the resistance. Yoga actually means “union” and is a practice for going in and understanding yourself and the Universe better.  It is supposed to be a path to wellbeing and expansion. Now I get it! And it’s not about stretching farther than I can. It’s about going to my edge and expanding with joy where I am. WOW!

If you have things in your life that you can’t figure out how to allow, why not practice allowing smaller things, and then work on up to the bigger things? This stretching/yoga (I’ll call it a meditation) technique gives you almost instant gratification, and works on exactly the same laws that create and allow more friends, cars, relationships, prosperity, ocean-front homes, and the like. Your Expanding Connection Solves Your Problems!

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963), 35th President of the United States was quoted as saying that “A rising tide lifts all boats.” The proverb he quoted is an excellent one to draw an analogy to Source Energy, your challenges, and the Law of Attraction. When you study the LofA you hear a lot of phrases over and over again. Much of what you hear us discuss, and most of everything you will read at many other LofA websites draws primary information from the ongoing work of Jerry and Ester Hicks, and the Teachings of Abraham. If you haven’t studied their work, it is a must read. In fact The Secret, which is a main-stream movie about the Law of Attraction, is based on their work, even though they decided not to be associated with the movie in the end. You will hear from both these sources that how you feel is everything, and that if you feel good you are moving closer to what you want, and if you feel bad you are moving away from what you want. That is the basis of my discussion today.

Even after I “got it” that I should pay attention to how I feel, I always found a reason to only do it a little. After all, when you have a life to live, a job to do, and a house to run, who has time to just stop and pay attention to how you feel? I mean really?? I felt deeply that someday I would solve my immediate issues and then relax and enjoy my life more…only after I fixed everything around me. At some point I realized that I might need to wait until retirement before I had no excuses, and that day was not coming very soon. So the quandary was: how do I solve my problems all at once so that I can pay more attention to how I feel, and then harness the Law of Attraction to my greatest benefit? The question becomes the answer, and you begin and end in the same place. Here’s how…

“A rising tide lifts all boats.” The tide doesn’t go around lifting each one, as if worrying about missing one. The tide is powerful, and has an immediate effect on all boats. So it is with the Law of Attraction. When you take time to listen to your inner guidance, and really pay attention to your Emotional Guidance System (using the Vibrational Scale as a reference), your connection to Source Energy raises and expands. You need to attend to this connection first, and then see the magic that happens next. The “problems” you had on your mind will either seem smaller, or you will have new insights as to how to solve them. You will receive the gift of inspired action which will help you move through the day in efficient strides that move you ahead. All the “rocks” in your “ocean” will submerge and you will be able to navigate swiftly over them. The rising tide of your connection to Source Energy will lift you up and show you the way. Law of Attraction will put the muscle behind the magic, aligning you with even more of what you want, once you are sailing above the rocks. Don’t try to solve all your problems before you connect to Source. Connect first, through meditation or yoga, or just by being still for ten minutes when you need to. Let the Universe help you solve everything. Your first responsibility is to let the tide come in. Be Well, Marie-GP

Rebirth Your Connection To Source!

This holiday season will provide many opportunities for so many things. Many will gather with friends and family to toast to the New Year, and gift giving and cheer have been the order of the day recently. No matter what religious faith you may or may not align with, it has been a good time to change your normal pace and refocus your thinking. Sitting in church on Christmas eve, I was thinking about the many meanings of the Christmas season. There is a sacred Christmas, referring to the “Christ Mass” and birth of Jesus, and the secular Christmas with Santa, JC Penny, and Toys R Us. And for sure, Christmas can be sacred or secular, or a combination of both, or just a time to have fun in the winter months with friends and family…it is whatever you want it to be. At the very least I would hope that the stress of preparing for Christmas has given way to the joy of the holiday season, and that you can take a deep breath and reflect on all things you are grateful for. That is one of my goals for this most amazing day.

For years I wondered about how much Christmas was supposed to be secular or sacred for me. If it was just about buying presents and attending parties, then it was no different than other holidays like Thanksgiving or Labor day. It was just time off with friends. And if it was supposed to be completely sacred, then I felt pressure to focus all my attention on a 2,000-year-old event with little relevance for my present condition. Neither one seemed to work 100% for me. But once I discovered and understood the Law of Attraction, I was able to reconcile these questions in my own mind.

Christmas is secular, and can be enjoyed for the opportunities it brings to connect with others, be grateful and appreciative, and to give freely with a feeling of abundance. It is about giving, but it is also about receiving. If you give freely, Law of Attraction lines you up to receive freely, and your abundance flows. If the secular Christmas is only about opening yourself to give and receive freely, it is important and unique enough a holiday to appreciate with great enthusiasm. But what about the sacred side of Christmas? Jesus was born over 2,000 years ago, and taught in parables that were meant for the mind-set of people of the day. They were heard and remembered by people who lived at the time, written down by others, and translated many, many times throughout the ages. What message in the Christmas story can I celebrate and understand, and also make relevant to my present experience?

Jesus was an amazing man who had so much to teach us. His birth represents a new beginning in the thinking of humankind. He did incredible things, and said that we can do these same things, and even greater things. He came to teach us of our connection to God (which I refer to as Source Energy). He came to “save” us from limited thinking, and to encourage us to love one and other as ourselves. The birth of Christ can inspire us to rebirth our own sacred connection to Source Energy, and to remember that we have a personal, unwavering connection to all that is good. Taking conscious notice of this connection is the sacred message of Christmas for me, and I rejoice in this fact! I am constantly being created anew, and I take this season to align with my connection in a stronger and more good-feeling way. I allow the birth of Christ to be my own rebirth, and I am open to allowing these gifts into my life today. I will leave you today with words from a Christmas card that my wife and I keep as a reference to the true meaning of Christmas. May you enjoy this most amazing day of rebirth. Chris-GP

I’ll Begin Again…and Again!

I sometimes find myself disappointed about something I have done, or that has happened to me…and I can’t seem to get it out of my head. I will replay it and I will think about it, and I will sink into feelings that feel worse and worse. We all get this way at times, and when we do we need a little something to reverse the downward spiral. I like to use this technique called “I’ll begin again” because it is about letting go of the past and launching fresh into the NOW. We are eternal beings, and the essence of eternity is that it is never ending. If our existence is never ending, then we will never be complete, nor can we ever be forever “wrong.” There is no place or time when you will be able to say “finally, I am done…I am perfect and complete.” You will always be launching new desires that are incomplete, and you will always be reaching for more and more expression, expansion, and joy.

So when something doesn’t go your way, don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you have messed up forever. Instead just announce to yourself, or anyone who will listen, “I’ll just begin again.” Remind yourself that the past is already gone, and that you are on a never ending journey. Just begin again. And again. And again. Remind yourself that where you have been has no bearing on where you are and where you are going. Begin again. See yourself charting a new path toward everything you want to attract through Law of Attraction. Begin again. Breathe. Begin again. Love. Begin again. All is well. Enjoy this most amazing day! Step One: Make Peace With Where You Are!

There have been so many good posts on GP lately, and great comments from the community too. I really do appreciate all the ideas and angles that have been offered lately. They help me see things differently and to grow and find a new way of seeing my life. I had the idea for this post when I was thinking about the 3-step process of Law of Attraction: You Ask (automatic), Source Answers (not your work), and You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!). This is powerful, and makes sense to me. Step one and two are mostly out of your hands, while step three is truly your business. But I think there is another step important enough to be listed with these. You know it ’cause you read the title of this post first: Make peace with where you are!

If you read just a few other Law of Attraction blogs you will see that a good number of well-meaning people are struggling to understand LOA and put it to conscious use in their life. They are angry and confused because they have been told that it is supposed to work for them, but then they see that it isn’t working how they hoped it would. The posts (on other sites) that I have read lately seem to be from people who are very unhappy and want change desperately. They are doing a great Step 1 in terms of asking. But they aren’t happy where they are. They can’t accept that NOW is all we have, and that accepting where you are and loving yourself anyway is, let’s say, STEP 1B. I think that we need to make a step for being happy right now, and not putting it off into some far-future manifestation. (It makes sense that people would be angry and confused) If you think that the Universe can bring you a new condition to change your vibration, you don’t understand the basic nature of LOA. You have to change, and then you attract something different. If you stay focused on what you DON’T have, you just get more of what you don’t have. Simple.

Here are my slightly changed steps to make Law of Attraction work for you:

1A. You Ask (automatic through living on planet Earth)

1B. Make Peace With Where You Are, Who You Are, And What You Have. (your business)

2. Source Answers (not your work)

3. You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!)

See today if you can stop taking score, and if you can just relax and enjoy where you are…full knowing that what you want is indeed on its way. You only want the new thing because you know that you will feel better having it. But you can’t get it until you feel better first. So make peace with where you are! Thanks for reading. Why Wait? Live It NOW!

There are a lot of people discovering the Law of Attraction for the first time, and I think it’s one of the most exciting times to be alive here on planet Earth. People are learning (or remembering) that the sum essence of their thoughts, actions, and feelings is what creates their reality. We are all coming to understand that we are eternal creators, and that we are here for joy, growth, and expansion. People are experiencing how a thought, practiced over time, attracts other thoughts and experiences to match it. More and more people every day are coming to trust Source Energy as a never-ending, consistent supply of love, inspiration, wellbeing, and connection. New websites about how to align with the Law of Attraction are popping up every day, and there are a lot of curious souls who want to learn to live a more purposeful life of joy. You are one of them, because you found your way to this moment in time, at this website, reading these words. Welcome.

The Law of Attraction is not difficult to understand or harness, but there is so much information out there that is geared for different kinds of people. It appears to be much more complicated than it really is. Today I will give you an easy way to summarize the Law of Attraction, and then I will give one example of how I have used it effectively to create something I wanted.

Law of Attraction is a universal law that deals with energy and vibration. Like attracts like. You are like a radio station that is constantly sending out a signal, and the Universe is broadcasting right back at you with the same signal! What ever you broadcast vibrationally as you live your day is matched, enhanced, and expanded by Law of Attraction. If you want change, you have to change your vibrational broadcast signal first, and then the Universe will change to match it. Waiting for the Universe to change YOU is a recipe for disconnection and frustration. I hope you are grasping the amazing truth in this: You have at your fingertips, right now, the ability to harness the energy that creates worlds…and it is constantly working to match and attract to you anything you broadcast. WOW!

A few years ago my wife and I moved to Southern California from the Midwest. We decided to live near the beach, and we found a great apartment just three blocks from the ocean. In only a few weeks we decided that we wanted to be not just close to the ocean, but we wanted to live right on the ocean! It would have been easy to find a million reasons why this would be impossible, but we understand the Law of Attraction, and we set out a course to allow this desire into our lives. The key is to get aligned with your desire, and to live it right now. Yes, you have to live it right now! But, you say, you didn’t live on the ocean. You only lived near the ocean. You were fooling yourself. And I say, sure, we were fooling ourselves…right into a place of feeling good about our desire, and right into broadcasting a signal that the Universe could match. We talked about how great it was to live on the water, and we bought books and magazines that had pictures of the ocean, I set up an electronic picture frame with hundreds of ocean-front images that I found on line, and we even slept every night, all night, to the sound of ocean waves on the iHome iPod dock next to the bed. We made vision boards with pictures of the beach. We also created “an allowing manifesto” for this manifestation of ocean-front living. (More about that in a later post). I found myself spending many hours of inspired time looking at real estate listings, all the while enjoying the feeling of living on the water. Yes, we “fooled” ourselves into broadcasting this signal to the Universe: “we live on the beach, we have the resources to purchase a home, and we love living here.” By not contradicting our own vibrational desire, Law of Attraction had no problem attracting to me a real estate listing that caught my eye. I immediately called the agent and set up a showing. It matched our list of criteria, and we were soon living there. But in our minds, we were already living there. Moving in was the last step, not the first step!

You can do this too. Look at the things you have been asking for. Have you been sending a signal that you already have it? Can you enjoy the feeling of living it right now? If you can do this and love having it now, you will be in the right place at the right time to have it flood to you through inspired action. I would love to hear your stories about your successes. “Reality” is Like A Flashlight!

This morning I woke up with an insight into the Law of Attraction. Picture yourself in a very large, and very dark, room. You can’t see a thing. You reach out, but you can’t touch anything either. (I have been reading Dan Brown’s latest book, “The Lost Symbol” and maybe this is why dark spaces are on my mind) Anyway, in this dark room is a light switch, and with all your might you start looking for it. You find it and switch it on, only to discover that the bright light momentarily blinds you, and you are overwhelmed and can’t see anything. You cover your eyes and switch the light back off. You reach into your pocket and discover that you have a small but powerful flashlight. You turn it on and find that you can point it exactly where you want to see, and your eyes can see just fine. But when you look in one direction, you can only see in THAT direction. You have to pan and point and keep moving to see what is in the room. As soon as you move off an object to see another object, you can’t see the first one anymore. I am sure you can follow this so far. We have all been in the dark before.

Your perception is just like this story. As humans on planet Earth we are not supposed to see the whole room. If we didn’t have a way to focus our attention we would be overwhelmed and not be able to see anything. We have an ability to focus our thoughts in a single direction, like shining a flashlight in a dark room. What ever we shine the light on (or give our attention to) becomes illuminated as part of our “reality.” Whatever we look at becomes our point of attraction, and Law of Attraction tirelessly sends more of the same to our experience. People who don’t get this will shine their light on all kinds of things that they don’t want more of. They feel it is their duty to “see what’s in the room.” But if you use your focus to look for things you don’t want, or that don’t feel good when you look at them, you are increasing the energy of these things and making them stronger in YOUR reality. Everything is real…that you give your attention to. And there is nothing that can get your attention that you don’t shine your light on. There is nothing lurking in the darkness that is trying to “get you.” So relax and use your power of focus wisely today. Keep scanning the room until you see things you want to see, and then stay on them for a while. It’s not your job to clean the room, or to keep others from looking at what they want to. The Benefits of Daily Exercise

Everyone knows that daily exercise is good for the mind and the body. We all understand that fit people are active people. Yet, it can be difficult to get yourself up and out of the house and exercising every day. There are a million excuses NOT to be active, but in reality, none of them hold up under the slightest bit of scrutiny. I had a music teacher once who told me during a percussion lesson: “if you want something done on time, give it to a busy person.” His point was that busy people manage time well, because they have no time to waste. The people who never have enough time, and who never get caught up, and who feel the real stress of time management are often (but not always) the same people who waste a lot of their own time. I have found that the more I think and rationalize about the time I have available for exercise, the less I seem to exercise. But when I go right out…no real debate with myself…I can get out and get going on my fitness regimen. So the first step to benefiting from exercise is to (and stealing a famous advertising phrase) “just do it.”

Next, it is important to remember why we benefit from exercise in the first place. We are all familiar with the oxygenation of the blood, and the lengthening and strengthening of muscle groups. But this is a website about the Law of Attraction, right? How does this all play into health and fitness? Glad you asked! We know that what you experience is a direct result of the thoughts and vibrations you offer over time. To be healthy, you have to either feel healthy, or offer no resistance toward your wellbeing. We also know that contrast creates a desire and an asking that in turn causes your expansion into greater wellbeing. In other words, you can either simply allow your well being by feeling fit and healthy, or you can create an expansion through a particular kind of contrast we will call “exercise!”

This particular kind of self-inflicted contrast (called exercise) is very beneficial and effective. Try it and see what you think. Lace up your sneakers and go for a run. If you feel tightness in your muscles, how exciting…you are creating a body that is tension-free. It now exists vibrationally, and it is yours to allow. Next, you might feel your breath begin to get faster and more shallow. Yippee! That “out of breath” feeling just created a more fit you, because you can’t help but ask for better fitness when you are out of breath. It is yours to allow and manifest! Your interaction with the contrast called exercise is indeed making you more fit…and the powerful asking you do when you feel this physical stress on your body is benefiting you greatly. Just remember to relax and allow the expansion you have created as soon as you recover from your run.

Lastly, remember that the real work of fitness comes from the feeling of fitness, and if you don’t feel fit…you can not achieve fitness. Law of Attraction brings you experiences of fitness when you feel fit, period. As I implied earlier, you can skip exercise and just feel fit, and you will be fit and healthy. But few people can pull off fitness without feeling like they earned it. There is nothing quite like a long run, bike ride, or day of skiing to help one feel worthy of the vibration of fitness. It is probably much easier to “just do it” and be active in terms of letting in a feeling of health. It’s my plan to let my exercise expand my health through physical contrast, and then to relax and appreciate everything in my life. It’s the perfect One-Two punch for me. When Life Causes You To Want Something, Be Grateful!

There was a time when I thought I would be happy if all my problems would just go away forever. Everything seemed to be a bother, and I felt like life was a constant struggle. I thought that I had to find a way to solve all my problems once and for all, and I looked everywhere for a solution. I meditated, did yoga, kept fit, read books, and got a hold of every self-help book or video I saw. Yet, to my dismay, my problems didn’t disappear completely. No matter what I did or achieved, I still had unfulfilled desires that I labeled as problems, or as “contrast.”  The striving for a life of no contrast was a pain. The harder I tried to have no contrast, the more I seemed to have. Sometimes I felt defeated and that I was a loser if I had problems to face in my life. Thankfully I came to new understandings about the Law of Attraction, and over time I gained a new perspective on the “problems” in my life and the positive function they serve.

As I understand it, we are created in the image of Source Energy. We are vibrational beings who are extensions of the Source from which we came. When we think, we send out energy to the Universe. Before we are born into a physical body, we are one with our Source, and there is no contrast…yes, NO CONTRAST! (This is what I was trying to achieve in this lifetime!) But as an extension of Source, living in a physical body on planet Earth, I am supposed to encounter things that I want…and that I don’t yet have. When I have “problems” or unfulfilled desires in my life, the Source that I came from GROWS in proportion to my asking. If I am sick, I have a problem; but through experiencing this sickness, I ask strongly for health, and vibrationally I send a signal back to myself as Source Energy. The part of me that is still Source responds immediately to my expanded idea of health, and literally becomes a new version of me with the new condition of expanded health. But, you might ask, how do I benefit from this if I am still sick?

When life causes you to ask for something better, or for a solution to a problem in your life, the greater part of you grows, becomes the expanded version, and begins calling you toward the new manifestation into physical reality. (You may want to read that last sentence again). You ask, Source answers by expanding fully into the new thing, and all you have to do is allow yourself to receive the new condition. Law of Attraction is the manager of all of this, so it is important to focus on the new desire rather than the lack of the new desire. (More on this later). The point of this post is that you will never be problem or contrast free in this lifetime. Instead of wasting time, as I did, trying to solve all your problems, be grateful for the contrast you experience. Give yourself credit for the expansion you have sent to your Source, and then get into a place to let it manifest into your experience on Earth. If you are not asking, you are not growing. Be grateful and appreciative for the contrast in your life. It gives you the push forward into new and amazing things. Let me know if this post makes any sense to you. Creating and Using Vision Boards (part 3)

In part 1 of “Creating and Using Vision Boards” I discussed what a Vision Board is, and how it worked for me when I wanted to expand my career. In the second part, I showed you how to make a Vision Board, and how you might use it on a daily basis. If you are visiting Gratitude Planet for the first time and haven’t read Part 1 &2 yet, you may want to scroll down and read it before you read Part 3.

Once you have created your Vision Board, you will want to refer to it daily and feel how good it feels while you look at it. I don’t recommend that you look at it when you are busy, stressed, or otherwise distracted from feeling good. As I said in part 2, I look at my Vision Boards either before bed, or sometimes in the morning (taped to the bathroom mirror). My resistance is low, and I need something to focus on anyway as I brush teeth or shave. Here are a couple hints to making the most of this exercise, and harnessing the full power of the Law of Attraction:

1. Pretend what you want has already arrived into your experience. The Vision part of the VB is the gift of seeing the thing as if it has already materialized into your experience. The images you have chosen should feel like a done deal in terms of the manifestation. If you picked images and words that depict the manifestation fully, you should be able to relax and enjoy the feeling of having it. It is the feeling of having it that makes the Law of Attraction able to deliver it to you.

2. Have fun. There is no reason to work at this. If you approach the VB as a job to be completed each day, you may intensify the feeling of needing to work to make it happen. This vibration reinforces a feeling that you DON’T't have it. If you already have it (as this game requires) then there is no need to work or struggle while you look at the VB. It is done, and you should feel the fun of having the thing on your VB.

3. Talk to yourself as if you already have it. Let yourself know (often) how exciting it was to have the things on your VB. Breathe deeply. Love your ever-expanding life and the magic of creating and receiving your expansion. There is no need to contradict your thinking with a “real, here and now” feeling. Let your inner speak reflect the vision on the VB.

4. If you dare, talk to others about how your VB is manifesting (or has manifested). If you have friends that understand and accept Law of Attraction, play the game in real time with them and talk about how grateful and appreciative you are for the manifestations on your VB. Play it up. Let it feel good. Let them add to the power of the allowing.

5. Be patient. Don’t take score right away, but rather look for the smallest clues of the new condition. What ever you have created will start showing it self in small ways first. If you can really get and practice the feeling of the new thing, you will recognize it as it actually appears in the physical world. Just say, yah, that’s my VB in action. It’s here. Yippee.

I’d Rather Feel Good Than “Be Right!”

Have you ever been in a funk where you see people doing dumb things? You see them saying mean things, or things that are just wrong or not true. These people can drive you up the wall. There have been times in the past where I took it as my personal responsibility to set them straight. I would go up to them and point out why they were wrong. If you have ever done this, you know where it leads. It usually leads to a disagreement of some kind with them defending their point of view (even if it is wrong or untrue!!) This kind of interaction feels bad, and I usually can’t shake the anger I can get when I can’t get them too see their error. It makes me feel wrong, as if I am making the mistake.

I don’t feel it is up to me to fix anyone anymore. Correcting a fact (like the date of an upcoming concert) is the only thing I butt in about anymore. The reason I don’t try to fix everyone anymore is that 1. They don’t want my opinion, and 2. It feels bad when I do it (and for a while after I do it, even after they are long gone). I have decided that I would rather “be wrong” in someone’s perception and feel good, than to “being right” in my own mind and feel bad. Actually, what I really do is notice my “rightness” while feeling good at the same time, but without having to get anyone to agree with me or change their perception. I AM FREE! I don’t think I walk around looking all stuck up like a know-it-all either. I just go about my happy way, sometimes making mistakes but always looking to feel as good as I can. There has been one amazing side effect of my new approach. I swear, I don’t have as many people in my face making me angry anymore. Now that I allow people to think differently from me without me trying to change them, more people seem to agree with me. It must be a Law of Attraction magic thing. I am grateful for the relief I feel now that I am not responsible to change everyone. All I do is need to connect to Source Energy and be the best person I know how to be. Wheww! 5 Steps to Turning The Emotional Corner

When you are living fully through the Law of Attraction, you have to pay attention to how you feel. When you feel good, you are drawing to you things you have asked for. If you feel bad, you are holding yourself apart form the things you want to create in your life. This doesn’t mean that you will never feel bad…you will…every day. But when you feel negative emotion you can turn it back around to a positive emotion. The key is becoming aware of resistance in your vibration. Try using these five steps to stay a match to what you are asking for through Law of Attraction:

1. Notice pain or stiffness in your body. When you notice it, turn the emotional corner and breathe into the pain or stiffness. See yourself adding light and love and gratitude into the stiff area. Imagine it releasing and relaxing. This really works if you stop and really do it, I promise.You will feel better.

2. Notice how you talk to yourself. As you move through the day, pay attention to the words you use to talk to yourself. Do you praise your actions and feelings, or do you “talk down” to yourself? Do you say “nice interaction…I have perfect timing” or do you more often say “hey dummy, that was a stupid thing to do.”? If you are not being kind to yourself, turn the emotional corner by affirming that you aren’t perfect, and that you are doing the best you can. Change words that criticize into words that uplift. Let your view of yourself match the view that your inner being has about you. Your inner being loves you and knows you are exactly where you need to be right now. You will feel better.

3. Notice how you talk directly to others. Your vibration is also affected by the way you interact with others directly. Are you kind and uplifting to the people you see everyday? It’s easier to be kind to friends and family as opposed to the annoying cashier at the market. But your vibration (and emotional state) depends on how you handle the annoying people too. Can you find something to like about them? Can you see yourself in them somehow. Turn the emotional corner by giving them credit for who they are, and by feeling grateful for the service they are providing to you. You will feel better.

4. Notice how you talk with others ABOUT others. It is easy and tempting for two people to put down a third person, especially if that person is not present to hear it. It can feel good to agree with a friend that another person is ugly, stupid, inappropriate, or incompetent. But if you say these things, the experience won’t raise your vibration much, and soon you will feel the lowering of your vibration too. Turn the emotional corner by refusing to criticize others, even when someone is egging you on. The best way to do this is to start saying nice things about the person instead of degrading things. Or just don’t say anything at all. You will feel better.

5. Notice when you are clumsy. This is a real step. A sign of your disconnection can come through stubbing a toe, dropping a glass, hitting your head while turning, or by spilling a cup of hot coffee. When these things happen, stop and turn the emotional corner by affirming that you have some negative emotion activated. Simply take a deep breath and feel gratitude for your inner guidance that let’s you know when you are disconnected. Say “thanks” and move ahead a little more slowly and thoughtfully. Maybe you can also stop and close your eyes and collect yourself as well. Forgive yourself for attracting the spill, accident, or clumsiness, and move on ahead with confidence and humbleness. You will stop the chain of weirdness and you will surely feel better!

Creating and Using Vision Boards (Part 2)

In part 1 of “Creating and Using Vision Boards” I discussed what a Vision Board is, and how it worked for me when I wanted to expand my career. If you are visiting Gratitude Planet for the first time and haven’t read Part 1 yet, you may want to scroll down and read it before you read Part 2.

Creating a Vision Board is a powerful tool for nurturing and allowing something in your vibration. The Law of Attraction responds only to your vibration; your words and actions mean nothing unless accompanied by a corresponding vibrational frequency. A Vision Board can help you feel as if the thing you want is already manifested. You have a daily visual cue to help you accept and allow your well being! You have immediate evidence that your life is expanding, and concrete visual cues to help you relax and let in all that you have asked for.

The first Vision Board that you make need not revolve around a major change on your life. In fact, I have found it to be fun over the years to ask for something that feels achievable, yet is just far enough out of my reach that I will feel a triumph when it materializes. For example, if you have been trying to shed ten pounds for a while, but haven’t been able to allow it into your vibration, you could make a Vision Board celebrating your weight loss of ten pounds. Every image and phrase on that Vision Board should celebrate the new weight, and there should be images that feel good to you. Looking at the Vision Board should always feel good. It should represent the completion of the manifestation of the desire into your present. You should be able to suspend your disbelief as you look at the Vision Board.

Another Vision Board I had created centered around health and fitness. I wanted to look better, feel better, and move better. I went to Barnes & Noble and looked for magazines on health that caught my eye. I wanted images of healthy people, and I wanted them in full color. I perused a large number of pages looking for images that made me go “yes, that feels good.” If I saw a picture of a person who was doing something I like to do, and if the image felt good while I looked at it, I put it in a pile for purchase. I probably took home only three or four magazines on health, but they were full of great images that supported my desire to be more fit and athletic. I cut up my manila file folder and got out my scissors and glue stick, and started looking once again through the pages of the magazines. Now when I saw an image I liked, I cut it out and put it on the table. There is no right and wrong way to to this…only the way that YOU enjoy doing this. I like to cut out every image that feels good to me, and then decide which ones fit best together to create an overall effect. I might cut out ten to fifteen images, and use only four or five, depending on how big they are and how they fit together. I also look for words or phrases I like, and I cut those out and paste them in too. In twenty years I have probably made three Vision Boards on health and fitness, and I have always experienced a good segment of improved health and vitality after creating my Vision Board. You might wonder why I would need to do another VB if I did it once already and achieved improved conditions. Like anything, once you have achieved something, something else will surely get your attention, and your focus will be directed in new ways. So after a few years of feeling like fitness is completed, you might find yourself back up those ten pounds and eating in old patterns again. It’s OK. Use your VB to allow the thing you want the most right now. Don’t try to live your whole life through one VB at the same time.

If you want to try making a VB, on a blank paper list the top three things you would like to increase in your experience. You might list weight loss, more prosperity, and an intimate relationship, for example. Feel the energy behind each thing. How would you feel if you had one of these three right now? Which one gives you the purest feeling of excitement and a rush of “wow” when you think about it actually happening? If you feel they are all the same, just pick one and do your VB on that topic. It’s likely, however, that one will get your attention in a more powerful way than the others. Go for that one first.

I will continue this series on Vision Boards because it is fun to write about, and it is such a fun activity to do. It always reminds me of art classes in middle school. You get to play and enjoy your creations…and then they manifest into your experience! It’s like having a magic wand. “With Our Thoughts, We Make The World.”

I have a wonderful piece of chiseled and painted stone (pictured here) hanging in my house. The text is a quote from Buddha Skakyamuni (b.624 BC): “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” For people who are just coming to know and understand the Law of Attraction, it seems like a New-Age revelation. These laws are as old as Source Energy, and though you may be discovering them recently, humans on planet Earth have been aware of these laws for a very, very, very long time. The idea that we create our reality through our thoughts has been documented and discussed as long as records have been kept, and the same message is interwoven throughout most every religious tradition, and even through scientific inquiry. Movies like “What The Bleep Do We Know?” report how science is just beginning to prove that our thoughts have a concrete and real affect on physical matter. Science is showing that everything is energy, and at certain levels, everything is interconnected. When you change one aspect of anything, and hence its vibration, the change ripples out and affects everything within its frequency. The Universe is expanding and expanding and expanding!

When I was in middle school, I picked up a book called “The Nature of Personal Reality” by Jane Roberts and Robert Butts. I read it cover to cover and then started on the next “Seth” book in the series. By the time I was done, creating your own reality made perfect sense to me. It’s not about deciding to create your own reality through your thoughts…but the realizing fact that you DO create reality through your thoughts, even if you don’t know you are. If you are thinking, you are creating, period. It makes sense, then, to pay attention to the way you are creating. The evidence you have is clear and concrete: the life you are living right now arose from your thoughts in the past. Do you like your life, right now? If you do, stay focused in the manner you have been focusing. Enjoy the ride. If you don’t like what you have manifested, then begin noticing the ways you talk to yourself and others. What kind of stories do you tell in your head to yourself? Are you kind and optimistic when giving yourself advice? Are you kind to others? It is human to beat yourself up every now and again…but there is no need to make it your full-time job! If you can notice when your thoughts feel good and reflect your desires for a better life, and when they contradict your intentions for a better life, you can begin to give more energy and attention to the thoughts that will create the life you want. There is no emergency. You can perfect this little by little for eternity. Just begin by noticing and redirecting. Over time, you will see the evidence of your new and more consistent (and joyful) thinking. Your life will thrill you, and you will be exactly where you need to be…right here…right now, with no worry for anything else. Enjoy this most amazing day! CHRIS-GP

Creating and Using Vision Boards (Part 1)

If you watched the movie “The Secret” you probably recall a section of the film about the use of “Vision Boards.” I have been using this tool for over twenty years, with amazing results every single time. I am going to write a series of posts about this topic because I think it can be a fun and powerful way to interact with the Law of Attraction in your life. If you haven’t seen the movie, you will need to know just what we are talking about. A Vision Board, or as I have always called it, a Treasure Map, is simply a collection of positive images you collect, arrange together, and spend time with each day. Some people get a cork board and use tacks, and others use cardboard and glue. What you make it out of doesn’t matter. The energy you put into it DOES matter very much.

The Law of Attraction works easily and consistently, and it’s always a three-step process: 1. You ask for something through your vibrational contrast; 2. The Universe immediately answers your asking by vibrationally creating the thing you have asked for; 3. You allow Law of Attraction to manifest the thing into your life by becoming tuned into the new vibration you have asked for and created. Vision Boards help you with the Step 3 process by assisting you to become attuned to the new vibration. Another way to say this is, you have to believe you already have the thing you have asked for in order to match its vibration. But how do you feel like you have the new thing before is has manifested? Vision Boards can help because for many people, seeing IS believing.

When I was just out of college I decided that I wanted to go to graduate school for a masters degree and, someday, a Ph.D. I wasn’t ready to go right away, and I didn’t know where I would apply either. But I had created an asking for the experience, as well as for an expansion in my professional career. So I decided to create my first Vision Board. I found back issues of my professional journals and arranged them in a pile. I then took a manila file folder and opened it up and cut it in half so that I had an area about 8.5″ X 12″. Armed with a glue stick and a pair of scissors, I began pouring through the journals looking for images and words that supported my newly-created vibrational vision. I was looking for images of people doing what I wanted to do, and particularly for images that felt good when I looked at them. I also looked for phrases that used words that I liked. One of the images I liked was an advertisement for a University that had six head shots of the faculty, as well as superlatives about the school. I also was drawn to some critical reviews of some people’s work, and cut out a glowing headline praising a persons skills. “That’s the kind of thing I want someone to say about me someday,” I thought. After a while I had about ten images and several phrases of text. Next, I started arranging the images and text on the cardboard into a pleasing visual pattern. Once I was happy with it, I glued each image down. For the final touch, I found a picture of myself and pasted it right over one of the faculty head shots in the advertisement. Yes, there I was, on the faculty of this major University! The superlative phrases were now referring to me! I was very pleased with the final Vision Board.

Once I had created it, I put it by the bed and took it out every night before I went to sleep. I would spend two to five minutes looking at it, and allowed myself to enjoy the feeling of the visions and words. I didn’t contradict my feelings by switching to “reality.” I told myself that this vision WAS real, and that it was OK to feel really good about it. I played a game, but more importantly, I allowed the game to feel real. Once you get into the vibrational range of the thing you are asking for, Law of Attraction easily lines you up with what you want. Within a short time I had opportunities to meet people who helped me find the schools I attended. I had “Chance” meetings with people who opened doors, or who gave me the encouragement I needed.

After a while, I didn’t even look at the vision board anymore because I was already living the essence of the vibration of the images. Years later, after I had my Ph.D., I found this original Vision Board and got a chuckle looking at it. Someone had told me, to my face, one of the superlative phrases on my board…but I forgot I had put it on the board, so I failed to make the connection. Now I saw it there. Wow. And the advertisement for the University? I had cut out the name of the University on my board, and pasted my face on it; turns out, I attended the very same University (1,500 miles from where I had grown up and was living and working) and studied with the people in the advertisement. I had totally forgotten this connection as well. So it worked…and it worked really well. More on this in Part 2. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP
