Lisa,
Love this post. I like not having to worry about the "not to's" and focusing on the "get to's"

Sometimes I don't worry about whether my situation changed or not. For me, just the fact that I feel better is reason enough to redirect my thoughts. In this way, LOA is proven time and again, because the better I feel, the better I feel!

OK. I put a call in to someone I knew for a job proposal I was working on. I didn't hear back from them. I called again and left the same message, this time relaying how important it was that they call me back, because I had to have time to call other people if this person couldn't do it. Still nothing. I was getting really upset! I thought to myself "Yeah...it's JUST LIKE this person to NOT call me back when I need something from them! I'm there ALL THE TIME for them, and the ONE time I ask for something.....BOOOM!! They aren't there!!" Then I thought about the spiral of thought. We can either get on the spiral of thought that goes up, or we can get on the one that takes us spiraling down. I decided to take the one that headed up. I started saying things like "I'm sure they are going to get back to me. This person is very responsible, and they like me. I'm sure they will call within a few hours." I started feeling better! My mood improved, and I was able to go about my work without holding onto my anger. Know what? They called back 30 minutes later, apologizing for not getting back to me sooner. It seems that they were having troubles with their phone system, and didn't get any of the messages until five minutes before they called!

I did this just the other day. Works like a charm and it's empowering. I am in control of my own thoughts, no one else. No one else can make me feel angry or upset. I always get to choose to be happy or not. It's up to me!
