In my darkest moments of feeling not so good, I sometimes wonder if I have seen the best of my life pass me by. I think that all the most fun times might be behind me, and that I need to hold on to what I have and milk the last bit of bliss out of it. This “hold on and retreat”mentality is not something I am proud of, and I am sure you can relate to it on some level. Luckily, my darkest moments are few and far between, and I don’t stay there very long when I go there. Knowing about Law of Attraction and the emotional scale, I just reach for a feeling of relief and try to find the best feeling thought I have in my brain. But here’s the thing that floors me every time: when I move up the vibrational/emotional scale and feel better, I discover something new and exciting about my life! I find a new thing that I didn’t expect to find that thrills me like a kid on Christmas. It’s like the Universe is able to hear my desires better than I can, and then bring me some of it for me to enjoy. These new things might not seem very significant to someone observing from outside my reality, but from the inside out…these are good-feeling, very significant things. These are experiences that I enjoy so much, that feel like they were created on the spot for me to enjoy. In these moments, I can’t relate AT ALL to my “dark” moments…which makes sense, because you can’t be very far away from where ever you are right now vibrationally. So in your darkest times, don’t forget that there is a world of love, bliss, and connection available to you. Don’t forget that you can be feeling good in no time, and that you have the power to change your experience for the better. You can’t see bliss from depression, but you can’t see depression from bliss either. You can always move toward what you want to feel, and this life is eternal. Relax and observe your life today, no matter where you are. It can always get better, and the Universe has no end to the joys it can send your way! Be.Love today, Hannya-GP

Gratitude Planet is dedicated to helping you feel better every day. Feeling better simply means moving up the Emotional Scale and finding the best thought that you have access to. But some people say that feeling grateful implies a feeling of relief from something that almost happened that was uncomfortable. Something like, “I am grateful that that car behind me didn’t hit me when I slammed on my brakes.” While this might be true, the word “gratitude” by itself does not need to imply a state just missing some sort of disappointment. What really matters is how you feel when you declare what you are grateful for. Some people use the word appreciation instead of gratitude when they make their positive statements, but either word can work. It’s up to you. In reality, a word is just made up of symbols that attempt to convey, in this case, a feeling or a vibration. It is the vibration that matters the most. The key is connecting to what you are feeling. So in your gratitude, color it with a good dose of appreciation, and connect to the best feeling you can find. How you feel is always the best indicator of your Point of Attraction, and gratitude and appreciation are always close to your Vortex, the place where you are completely connected to Source Energy and allowing all good things to flow to you. Your Emotions Are Your Indicators!
Once I started using the Law of Attraction consciously in my daily life, I started worrying about my thoughts more. I started noticing that I didn’t feel good as much as I thought I did. I began to worry that if I thought “wrong thoughts,” my life would crumble as the Law of Attraction brought me more things I thought about. I began to fear my own thoughts and feelings. I was afraid that if I thought something that didn’t feel “good” that I would have to suffer the consequences when the thoughts manifested. I started trying to NOT think certain thoughts, which is next to impossible. If I tell you NOT to think about a red rose, you have already thought about it before you finish this sentence. For a while I was caught in a “thought trap” where I tried to only be “positive” and I tried to resist “negative” thoughts and emotions. If you have ever done this, you know that it isn’t much fun at all. Being cheery when you feel cranky feels bad in the end, but if you are afraid to feel cranky…you are stuck. A happy mask doesn’t change the way you feel inside, so you are really not paying attention to your feelings, thoughts, and emotions at all. You are just ignoring all of it. Is that what we are supposed to do? Is Law of Attraction about ignoring how you feel? Of course, the answer is a resounding NO!
While the thoughts you think and the emotions you feel absolutely do create your point of attraction, your feelings are your indicator of where you are on the emotional/vibrational scale. Your feelings are not to be feared because they give you important information about your present state of allowing. Your feelings tell you when you are connected to Source Energy, and also when you are resisting your Source Energy. It’s like your gas gauge in your car. You don’t get mad at the gas tank because it indicates that you need to stop and fill the tank, do you? (You may not like how often it reads empty, but that’s a different thing! LOL!) Fearing your feelings and pretending to be happy when you aren’t is just like putting a “smiley face” sticker over your gas gauge. You ignore the important information, and pretty soon there is a crisis much bigger than you had hoped for. So I learned to let my feelings be my feelings, and I started filling my emotional/vibrational tank when my “feeling gauge” told me to. I stopped fearing my thoughts and feelings, and just rode them up and down the Vibrational scale with ease. I relaxed more, and I found it to be very freeing.
I will post a list of tips that I use to fill my emotional/vibrational tank soon. Until then, just be easy about your feelings and emotions. What ever you feel is real, but it is not permanent. You are never stuck in one emotion for very long, and you can always find the best thought you have access to. Acknowledge what is, and then look for relief from the feeling. Ignoring is not a good way to manage your emotions, but feeling fully is. It’s OK to feel your feelings, and today is a great day to give yourself this permission, if you haven’t done so already. As you are practicing being a deliberate creator of your life, it is so important to be choosy about what you give your attention to. Your focus of thinking, feeling, and acting is what creates your point of attraction…and point of attraction is like a telegram you deliver to Law of Attraction asking the Universe to match you with more of the same. This makes sense when you think of your point of attraction in terms of an average vibration. If you take any measure 100 times, you will begin to approach a reliable average for that particular measurement. For example, if you randomly measure the heights of 100 people in a large room full of 500 people, and then add the heights and divide the sum by 100, you will have a good average measurement for the height of all people in the room. Of course, your reliability gets better when you measure more and more people. One hundred gives you a good start at estimating the average, and five hundred obviously determines the exact average. Your point of attraction, then, is your exact vibrational average over time…and as I said, it is what Source Energy sends you more of through the Law of Attraction. This is why people get frustrated with deliberate creation sometimes, and this frustration makes complete sense when you dig just a little deeper.
When you compute an average, you are taking into account every measure collected so that you can have a single number to report. But within the 100 height measurements described above, there will still be some rather tall people and some rather short people. This becomes clearer when you think of the extremes in this example. If I measured only two people in a room, and there were only two people there, I could still compute the average height for the room. Let’s say one person is seven feet tall and the other is four feet tall. The equation is ((7+4)/2)=5.5. So the average height in this room with two people is 5.5 feet. But no one in the room is actually that height! An average, in this case, doesn’t describe anyone in the room specifically at all in terms of height. Yet that is what an average is…the measure that crunches all the numbers to get a single measure in the middle.
When you think, feel, and act, you are creating vibrational measures that are sent to the Universe. But the Universe has the ability to collect every one of these measures to compute your vibrational average. The Universe never just sifts through to take a sample. In other words, you are constantly sending vibrational measurements when you think, feel, and act, each day, every day, in every second of every moment. Your average vibration might be made up of some really good-feeling moments, as well as some very disconnected moments, as well as a bunch of “in between” moments. This is why what you get sometimes seems to be different than what you thought you were asking for. If you have a car accident, it’s not because you thought the words “car accident.” Rather, your vibrational average was matched by Law of Attraction to bring you the experience of “car accident.” An unpleasant manifestation will always have some very disconnected moments preceding it to bring down the vibrational average over time. Likewise, pleasant manifestations will be preceded by enough connected moments that drive up the average as well. What you think and feel (on average) is always, always, always a match to what you get, period.
Because you are asking all day, every day, it makes sense to give your focus and attention only to things that drive up your vibrational average over time. As a spirit having a human experience, there will always be some moments of contrast and disconnection…and that’s OK! Remember that a tall person and a short person equal an average-height person, so being really disconnected or really connected some of the time won’t bring you either extreme as an average vibration. It is your job (and this is your only job) to raise your vibrational average. When you do, your get more prosperity, wealth, wellness, health, joy, gratitude, bliss, and abundance. Today, make every moment an opportunity to raise your vibrational average by being grateful for what you already have. Give thanks for the people you interact with, and feel appreciation for the way the day unfolds before you. Know that this moment, and every moment, is the Earth-bound, human reflection of your vibrational average up to this point, and that you are always adding to the bottom line. Your vibrational average will always equal your point of attraction! Relax and enjoy the process. Your job is simply to make the best of it, and then to enjoy the miracle of the Universe and Law of Attraction as you get more and more of the life you want. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

After reading Chris’ post entitled “Understanding and Using the Emotional Scale,” I experienced some insights that I would like to share with the GP community. As you may know, the way we feel has everything to do with what is being lined up for us using the Law of Attraction. The Emotional and Vibrational Scale helps us know where we are in relation to the Vortex (where we are connected to prosperity, Source Energy, and well-being). As I understood it, we all have a range of emotions that we have access to, and no single emotion can be very far away from one that is similar, either just above, or just below that feeling or emotion. If what we are feeling is not what we want for ourselves, we can choose to move up the Emotional Scale by choosing the feeling that is just above where we are presently feeling. When we obtain that lift in thought and emotion, and then find ourselves thinking and feeling the higher thoughts and feelings than where we started out, we move closer to feeling good and allowing everything we want to flow to us. Isn’t it good to know that we are never stuck in any one place, feeling any one feeling, for an indefinite amount of time? WE can choose for ourselves what we want to think and feel, and the Universe will respond to what we are thinking and feeling, bringing us closer and closer to our own Vortex, where all that we have asked for has been waiting to manifest into our lives.
At the end of the post, Chris put a picture of the emotional scale that he made for himself and his wife, which hangs on the wall in their home. It was great to get a visual representation of the emotional scale, and see how it works in a two dimensional example. As I studied the scale more and more, a mental picture began forming in my mind that was different from the one I was looking at on the site. Not BETTER….not IMPROVED….just different. As I see it, the Vibrational and Emotional Scale can be more fluid. I began to see two spirals of thoughts and feelings coming from the very center of the head, and moving in opposite directions from each other; one spiral going upward, the other going downward. Imprinted on the spirals are the words of the Emotional/Vibrational Scale (Contentment, Hopefulness, Pleasure, Joy, etc.). As you move upwards on the spiral, the spiral gradually becomes larger, because, as we know, the better we feel, the more good things compound and become greater, and the more joy we experience. We get more and more of all the good things that we desire, and our vibration lifts higher and faster, until we reach union with our inner being, and connect fully to Source Energy. The same can be said of the downward spiral. As we give attention to those things that cause us to travel along the downward spiral, our problems, our frustrations, our guilt, bad feelings and depressive moods compound on to one another, and we find ourselves getting further and further away from our true nature, and thus, further and further away from our connection to Source Energy. The GOOD news, of course, is that we don’t have to stay in that downward spiral. We can choose to change direction and start traveling upwards. If we are in frustration, we can just slide up the spiral to pessimism. From there, we slide up to boredom, and so forth. If we are in Hopefulness, we slide up the upward spiral to Optimism, and then up to Positive Expectations…..you get the idea.
One thing about the double spiral is that it allows for a state of equilibrium…contentment. When you are content, you are neither reaching for something, nor are you feeling that something is missing from your life experience. You are, as one of my teachers says “unconsciously incompetent,” meaning you don’t know that you are missing anything. It is because of this equilibrium that I chose to put contentment directly in the center, between the two spirals.
After I was “content” with the way the spirals worked, I decided to try the idea out. I found it to be a great help throughout the day! At any point, all I needed to do was notice how I was feeling, and picture in my mind’s eye the two spirals coming out the top of my head and out the bottom, and then visualize where I was on either spiral. From there, I imagined sliding up the spiral to the next highest thought and feeling, until I was sure that I had expanded into the new person who embodied that higher feeling. From there, I slid up the spiral again, and again, and again until I reached the highest thought and feeling I could for that moment of the day. I found it to be very efficient, and sooooo easy to do!!
I hope that this helps some of you in getting more in touch with the Emotional/Vibrational Scale. I’ve asked Chris to include a visual aid, so that everyone can look at the spirals to get a better idea of what I’m talking about. As Valentine’s Day is upon us, I would like to pause to say a few words about love and The Law of Attraction. We know that the Law of Attraction is a powerful law of the Universe that governs how energy is attracted to similar energy. It is a vibrational law that helps you decipher your role in creating your life. Law of Attraction never lines you up with people and events that are very different than your average personal vibration, so there is never any danger of things being “asserted” into your experience. In other words, your vibration, based on your thoughts, feelings, and actions, is what invites the Law of Attraction to magnify your present experience. In fact, I like the image of a magnifying glass here. You never expect a magnifying glass to make an image different, but only bigger. Law of Attraction does the same as you offer a vibration…it makes where ever you are and what ever you have been thinking about bigger, more real, and part of your daily “reality.” You can’t blame a magnifying glass for giving more detail and information when you look through it, and likewise, there is no blame for the Law of Attraction when it matches your vibration and sends you more of the same. You get to choose what comes to you, especially when you learn to use the Law of Attraction deliberately and with conscious intent. So how does this all relate to the topic of Love?
Love, like all feelings, emotions and vibrational offerings, is experienced strongly sometimes, and less strongly other times. It feels great to “be in love,” and everyone enjoys the experience of having their heart completely open and free. Yet it is also true that you can’t always feel the powerful intoxication of love at all times. As spiritual beings having a human experience, there will always be times when we move down the vibrational scale for one reason or another. Our connection to Source Energy will come and go. But if your greater intention is to be connected, and if your desire is to feel good, you will be more likely to pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and actions in relation to what you are getting in your life as it unfolds. Your experience of love will match your overall average practice of self love and loving thoughts every day. Simply put, if you want more love in your life, you have to love more. Love whom, you might ask?
The Law of Attraction matches you with your present vibration. Love NOW to have more love later. Don’t wait for love to come to you. In any moment you can start making lists of the things you love about yourself. Decide to appreciate YOU for the amazing person you are right now. Ignore your critical thoughts by replacing them with thoughts that feel honest, but good. Law of Attraction will hear these thoughts just as loudly as any other thoughts, and will begin sending you thoughts, feelings, and experiences that match it. The better you feel, the better it gets, and the momentum will build and build. Choose love, be love, feel love…and love MUST be your experience. If you find it hard to love YOU, but find it easy to love others, then spend time appreciating others…but then turn back to YOU and do your best to magnify that experience too. Love your pets, and the environment, and the people in your neighborhood, and the people in the cars you see as you drive to work, and the clouds in the sky, and on and on. Once you choose to love yourself, and the things you encounter every day, you will set up a powerful vortex of magnified love that will flow to you unbounded by anything. You will experience more and more love coming to you “from outside yourself.” Law of Attraction will be your tool for love’s expression in your life more and more often. You will be creating the most amazing life you could ask for, and everything you have been wanting (so far) will flow into your life as easily as your breath flows to you in this moment. My first post on optimism was called “Optimism is a Choice” and can be read by clicking HERE if you haven’t already digested it. Optimism is one of the emotional range levels on the Vibrational/Emotional Scale, somewhere above the feelings of “hopefulness and contentment.” When you are in optimism you are in the vibrational flow of the Universe enough that the Law of Attraction can bring you evidence of the positive changes you have asked for in your experience. Optimism aligns you with allowing, and it is the gateway to the more powerful emotions of allowing such as Gratitude, Positive Expectation, Belief, Enthusiasm, Eagerness, Happiness, Passion, Joy, Knowledge, Empowerment, Freedom, Love, Bliss, and Appreciation. It is the “gate keeper” to the Vortex, where the Law of Attraction “assembles all cooperative relationships.” Reach for optimism, and you reach for your connection to Source Energy and your inspiration to action as communicated through your inner being. But how do you become an optimistic person? You simply practice doing it until it becomes a habit. Here are several tips to practice being optimistic today:
- Remember that few things on planet Earth are 100% sure. In any scientific study, or poll of people, you will have a split of opinions and findings, and a margin of error. For example, if a large percentage of people believe that they will get the flu this year, there are also some people that believe that they will NOT come down with the flu. This will play out in “reality” and some will and some won’t get the flu. Even if 90% of people get the flu, you can affirm at any time that you will be one of those people who will remain completely healthy. TIP SUMMARY: No one, not even a majority of people, can force me to believe anything that I do not choose to believe.
- You can always use your power of focus to direct your thoughts toward what you want at all times. Use affirming statements when you are driving, exercising, or drifting off to sleep. Some of my favorites are “I always find a parking space,” and “I have perfect timing in all things,” and “I always have enough to be happy,” and “Today is going to be a great day,” and “Things always work out for me,” and “I expect to see and draw to me happy and connected people today,” and “My dreams tonight will be fun, exciting, and inspiring.” TIP SUMMARY: You are in complete control of the thoughts you choose to think, and you can use affirmations to help you make optimism a habitual vibrational offering.
- You can help others see potential positive aspects in things. When you are listening to someone talk, you can find the best in what they are saying and reinforce it back to them. You can say “What I hear you saying is that your perfect job is on the way, and that you will be in the right place at the right time when your perfect job opens up. That’s awesome!” Even if they didn’t say it to you with those exact words, it is uplifting to decide to take their words with an optimistic slant. There are other times where you will have to insert an optimistic phrase in an otherwise pessimistic conversation. Be careful not to be annoying, but also let them know that you see it a little differently. You might say “ya, jobs are hard to find, so I understand your frustration. But I know you will get a great job soon. People thrive in all times, and I see you thriving in my mind’s eye. All is well.” You should feel a little softening in their resistance if your words are phrased carefully. TIP SUMMARY: You can practice your optimism every time you are face-to-face with others.
I love knowing that I can be one of the growing number of people that choose to see the world as opening, evolving, growing, connecting, loving, and allowing. I am elated that I get to choose if I connect or disconnect through my thinking. I am grateful that my interaction with others can be of great value to others. I so appreciate the times when I can be uplifted by the thinking and words of others. I love turning and giving my attention to things that feel good, and making the best out of the things that feel like contrast. I love striving to see my glass overflowing with wellbeing. I love living the results and manifestations that I am enjoying from thinking optimistically over time. I would like to start a series of posts about using optimism to your advantage. Optimism is a key tool in harnessing the full power of the Law of Attraction, and it is nothing more than being picky about the thoughts you choose to think. Each person has a vibrational range, and this range is determined by the average feeling or vibrational content of the thoughts you have been thinking. If you haven’t read the GP post on Using the Emotional Scale, you may want to read it first by clicking HERE. You only have access to thoughts that are close to your vibrational range, so trying to feel optimism when you are feeling doubt is next to impossible to do. But I like optimism as a default “go to” vibration for several reasons. Even if you are in the vibrational range of doubt, your job is to find the best thought that you have vibrational access to. Instead of having to remember what emotional label is above doubt (in this case it is disappointment) I reach for “an optimistic thought” in my range, which might move me into a little higher vibration. I find this easier to do (at least for me) than trying to feel disappointment. I reach for “optimistic doubt” and I land in something that feels better than doubt. From there, I do the same thing again and find some thoughts that could be called “optimistic disappointment,” even if I don’t use that label.
I believe that optimism is especially powerful because it includes a reference to both sides of the issue: the glass is half full, or it is half empty. It helps you choose to focus on the side of the issue that tells a better story. It looks objectively at something and makes the most out of it. It is a launching pad for climbing the emotional scale on any issue. It recognizes the choices you have with two distinct paths, one that leads you closer to where you want to be, and one that leads you away from your desired emotional destination. It is the opposite of delusional; it is grounded and realistic while still being a reach on the vibrational scale. (Incidentally, you can make a good case for the concept of being delusional too, forgetting about “reality” completely and giving thought only to your goal. Many successful people call this “being focused.”)
Do you consider yourself to be an optimist? I know some people that pride themselves on being a self-described “devil’s advocate” and finding the fault in any idea, plan, or brainstorm. They feel that they play an important role in the conversation by bringing everyone down to a realistic level. But they actually do themselves a disservice by lowering their own emotional set point of vibration, which inevitably keeps them feeling worse and worse. The “important role” of pessimist keeps them from manifesting their desires and askings, and their Source will never take a pessimistic view of anything…so they live out of alignment with their own inner being.
Notice today what your thoughts and words feel like. Are they optimistic or pessimistic? Do your thoughts and words lead you to feelings that feel better or feelings that worse? Just notice. If you find that you inject part your day with pessimism, acknowledge that optimism is a choice, just as pessimism is also a choice. Each can be practiced just as easily as the other. In every moment you can choose to see the best, or the worst. You can reach for the best thought you can find, or you can reach for the worst thought you can find. It’s all up to you, and by paying attention you will be empowered to choose more consciously today. I truly believe you will do great things today, and I know you will feel better and better as the day goes on. May you find joy in every moment in this most amazing day! Chris-GP

I have been noticing some cool things recently about my own vibration. Everything seems to go in cycles and patterns of connection and contrast. I have been in a cycle of connection recently and I want to share a few moments of gratitude with you. This is my little list of things that have gone well. Maybe you can add to this list too:
- My dreams have felt especially restful and fun.
- I’ve been waking up with the feeling like it must be morning, but instead I have hours of decadent sleep left to enjoy.
- I have been eating well, and I feel light and strong.
- There has been little or no traffic on the freeways in the directions I have needed to travel.
- I have found a parking place on the first try every time at work.
- People seem to be especially cheerful and smiley lately.
- Watching Stephen Cobert made me laugh out loud this morning.
- I had a call for some extra work (unexpected income).
- The copy machine didn’t jam at all this week, and I made a LOT of copies.
- I got all my work done in the time I had to do it. I worked fast, but it all got done in perfect timing.
Can you think of ten things that went well for you recently? I know I could make a top ten things that didn‘t go well recently…but not at this moment. Anyone with a cell phone has had the experience of having it ring in a place where it should be turned off. Places like concerts, funerals, meetings, and meditation sessions are good examples of times that you really need to shut off your ringer. Having your phone go off in a bad time and place is annoying to you, and to the people around you too. Still, some people don’t want to take a chance that they might miss an important call. For some, a missed call represents a lost opportunity, a possible permanent disappointment they will never live down. I, on the other hand, don’t care if I miss calls. If it’s important I know they’ll call back. You have probably felt different ways at different time on this one.
Source Energy is calling you. Did you know that? You asked the Universe to change your life in a very important way the last time you experienced an uncomfortable experience of contrast in your life. You sent a huge request for your life to be better, more fun, expanded, and more joyful, and the Universe heard you, and Source is now calling you forward to receive it. Can you hear this call? Is it a good time for you to take this call? Is your ringer off? Do you think Source will call back?
The Law of Attraction has been organizing people, events, and circumstances to aid in the perfect unfolding of your asking. Let’s say you asked for a new job. Your present job, in all it’s crappiness, caused you to say “I want a better job. I want a great boss and fun and fulfilling tasks to play with all day.” Great! Then you did your best to align with the new vibration by enjoying the work you already have as much as you could. Great! You didn’t tell your old story, but you began telling your new story more and more, to the point that it feels like the true story, more than the “real” one. Great! So why aren’t you taking calls from “Source?” Source Energy on line one!
You might be being called to do little things that seem to make little difference, but can you hear the call? What might these calls sound like? In this example for a new job, the words being transmitted to you might sound like “wait for the next train” or “talk to that person” or “call that number you saw on the poster” or “visit that website” or “take a long walk right now” or “make that vision board” or “be kind to that person” or “attend that event” or anything that feels like a call to inspired action. If you aren’t taking these calls, you might never even hear the meaning of the feeling behind the inspiration. If you just ignore it, you might hear the words, but write them off as silly, like “I never do that.” Source will call you toward the perfect circumstances that Law of Attraction has organized for you, but you have to respond to the call. Turn your ringer on.
The beauty of all of this is that you can’t stop Source’s call to you. You can ignore it, but the call continues, consistently and constantly. It never gives up. So when you are ready and willing, pick up on this calling, and let the magic of your inspired life blossom fully into your awareness. Be Well, Marie-GP

Hello Everyone! This is my first post for Gratitude Planet. I have been subscribing for a while and decided to write something to share. (You can do this too! See the tool bar for the “Become a GP Contributing Author” for how to do it.) I hope you are all having a great start to your new year. I just want to tell a quick story to show how what you eat can change the way you feel. I have been honoring my New Year resolutions, and so far I have done pretty good. Changing habits can be like changing the direction of an ocean liner because first you have to STOP what you are doing so that you can get a new direction. If you are like me, I had some pretty intense momentum behind the habits I had. None of my resolutions were about eating differently, or losing weight (but we all have our list, right?). And I was changing what I did little by little with some small lapses, like most people who want to make a change in something. Here’s my story…
I was having a great day a few days ago and was on a gig, and then I noticed a huge spread of food and treats in the green room. Without much thought, I sampled a few things including a chocolate cupcake, some cookies, and some crunchy bar snacks. It was yummy. Later as the day went on I felt really cranky. I wasn’t inspired to do the things I said I would do to change my habits. Eating the sugar treats was fine, but I think it actually set me up for failure when it came to changing the things that I wanted to change. I didn’t think much more about it. I figured, “everyone has good days and bad days. I’m just snarky today.”
The next day I had a day off and was running all over town doing the things I had to get done. The day was much the same in many ways. I pulled in to the grocery for dinner food and an afternoon snack. First, I went to the bakery and feasted my eyes on the baked goods. (I have a real sweet tooth, can’t you tell?) But then I had an inspiration (call it guidance from Source?) to choose differently. I listened and followed my inspiration to the other side of the store, to the fruit section. There I found two things that sounded good to me in the moment: a green apple, and an 8 oz bottle of 100% carrot juice. I finished getting dinner food and got in the car to drive home. I snacked on my apple and carrot juice, which tasted really good ’cause I was really hungry. It was yummy! Again I didn’t give this too much thought in the moment.
Later that day, I had absolutely no trouble finding inspiration to follow my new year’s resolutions. I had good energy, and I was flying high on the emotional scale! (like up in the “Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness” range) I have always heard that “you are what you eat” but I never wanted to be an apple or a bottle of carrot juice! Joking aside, eating real food for energy made a big difference for me, and this is affecting my eating choices today too. Gaining weight is not a worry for me, but feeling good is. Maybe YOU can try eating a little better today. See how it makes you feel. See if feeling better makes you do the things you want to do with even more ease. Reading Chris’ post on the Emotional Scale made me think all day about how important paying attention to how you feel really is. I spent the day brainstorming tips that I hope help people use this tool even more effectively. Here they are:
- If you feel good, just ride it and enjoy what you are doing.
- When you first feel yourself becoming irritated, or whatever, just take a few deep breaths and see if it will melt back into a better feeling.
- If a few breaths don’t do the trick, make a few statements about how you feel in terms of the emotional scale. Say, for example, “I feel frustrated right now.” (If that feels right) Take a glance at the scale, and see what a higher vibration is above it, and reach for it with another statement like “I doubt that this stuff really works.” (Pessimism)
- Notice the relief it brings. Don’t expect to feel good…only the relief of feeling just a little better.
- Now ask yourself, what other statements can I find that feel true? Maybe “I’m tired of doing the same thing over and over again” is the best you can do. OK…that’s boredom! You have moved up again.
- Don’t worry if the thought you find feels worse, and you move down the scale. You can always begin again and reach for another better-feeling one.
- As Chris said, the words don’t matter. Only the feeling matters, so if it feels better, no matter what you call it, it is moving you up.
- Don’t let others tell you how you should feel. If you move from revenge to anger, and some person gets upset at your anger (and tells you to be “happy”)…please don’t use that as an excuse to go back to revenge. Tell them “my anger is a pit stop, not a rest stop!”
- Give yourself the OK to experiment. No one can feel for you. Only you know how your feelings feel. Be easy about your relationship to you. You are lovable…and loved!
- Your Source (Inner Being) loves you, and is constantly calling you up the Emotional Scale. There is energy and momentum built in to get you there. You just have to point your thoughts there, and it will be easier than you think. I guess 17 seconds of reaching is all you need on any level of the scale to get a feeling of relief.

If you have browsed our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, you know that the number one goal of Gratitude Planet is to help you feel better. When you feel good, the Law of Attraction lines you up with the very best of what you are asking for, bringing it to you in a natural, easy, and often thrilling way. But when you don’t feel good, the Law of Attraction is just as busy lining you up with less than pleasant experiences. When you feel bad or disconnected, it can be difficult to feel good. Our goal is to help you feel better as a result of visiting us, regardless of how you feel when you arrive. We say “feel better” for an important reason: everyone has a “vibrational range” that is changing all the time. You can only find thoughts that are in your vibrational range, and so it is important to be aware of how far-reaching your range is. To help you focus on how you feel, the use of the Emotional Scale (or Vibrational Scale) can be very helpful.
The Emotional Scale is a sliding scale of emotional/vibrational indicators, grouped in order from the worst feeling (bottom) to the best feeling emotions (at the top):

For the source material for this concept, refer to the book “The Vortex: Where The Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. The Emotional Scale is not set in stone in terms of the emotional descriptors, and how you feel personally is what really matters most. But the concept remains true that you only have access to emotions that are near what you are presently feeling. This explains why some people get really frustrated when they first learn about the Law of Attraction, especially when they “try to feel good” all the time. It’s not about feeling good, it’s about feeling better.
To illustrate how you might use the Emotional Scale, imaging that you can change the colors of the scale with a vertical slider. What you are presently feeling will be (for this discussion) yellow, while the emotion directly above will be green, and the emotional descriptor just below will be red. Suppose you were feeling discouraged. Your scale would look like this:

In this example, you have a vibrational range that dips as low as anger, and as high as blame. When you feel discouraged, the best thoughts you have access to feel something like blame (which I know doesn’t feel good…but it does feel better). You also can find thoughts that feel like anger. But worry and revenge are not in your range, and you will not be able to honestly talk to yourself in either of those emotions. But here is the key to using the scale: If you focus on thoughts that feel like blame, for as little as 17-40 seconds, your emotional midpoint will readjust on blame, and it will look like this:

Your deliberate focus has caused you to vibrate out of the range of anger, and into the emotional vicinity of worry. But worry doesn’t feel very good either, you say. Yes, that’s true, but it feels better than blame. So now turn your attention to thoughts that feel like worry. Yes, give yourself the permission to worry for a few minutes. In as little as 17 seconds, your range can shift yet again and center on worry, giving you access to doubt:

As you begin to use this tool to focus your attention on your emotional guidance system, you will be able to tell where you are at all times, and what the best feeling thought that you have access to is at all times. Before long you will have a midpoint that might look like this:

Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment
The worst-feeling thought in your vibrational range feels like optimism. Not too bad, eh? Once your range resides in this area for most of your day, the Law of Attraction can assemble people, places, and perfect timing for you all day. Source Energy begins to flow freely when you enter the range between hopefulness and optimism. The things you have been asking for vibrationally can come into full and magical manifestation in your life. You will radiate your connection to Source to everyone you interact with, and you will see the best in them as well.
The frustration I mentioned above is created when a well-meaning person tries in vain to find thoughts that are outside of their vibrational range. You simply can’t jump from discouragement to Positive Expectation/Belief in one step. So if you try to pretend you are feeling positive when you really only have access to blame and anger, you will probably end up in anger. Yes, you can move down the scale too, and just as easily. If you make anger your emotional set point (or midpoint) then you grant yourself access to, you guessed it, revenge. Life is a continuous cycle of movement up and down the emotional scale. Don’t try to jump around (because you can’t anyway) but just do your best to find the best feeling thought that you have vibrational access to. Soon you will master this technique, and you will feel good most of the time. And when you don’t, just reach and feel and reach and feel some more. Feel ALL your emotions, and don’t beat yourself up for feeling any of them. If you feel better through your focus, you are on the right track every time.
I actually created a real sliding emotional scale as a gift for the staff members of Gratitude Planet for them to use as they choose. As we go through our day we feel and adjust the slider. When it dips below a certain point we give some special focus to the green area, and less to the red area. I have found it to be an excellent way to help me feel good most of the time. You can see from the photo that I wanted a single word for each emotion, and that the words you choose don’t matter as much as the feeling behind each word. There are times when I really yearn to be more spiritual, what ever that really means. I will meditate more often, and use my power to visualize more effectively. When I feel an urge to be a human having a spiritual experience, I adjust my behaviors to what ever degree feels right. There is always some point, however, where I feel like I fall short…when I think I should work harder, focus more, or try to be better, regardless of what I have done. It appears to me in those moments that I am chasing something unattainable, and that being “spiritual” is not the end goal at all. We often think of ourselves as humans having a spiritual experience…yet we are really spirit (Source Energy) having a human experience! This way of stating it changes the goals and focus just a bit for me, which I will explain next.
Before we choose to enter into this life of form and contrast and expansion, we are one vibration with Source Energy. This energy has been described as pure, positive energy, and it is the energy that creates and sustains the Universe. It is pure, inexhaustible, free-flowing, always available, and it is the source of everything that exists. It is a stream of energy that flows naturally to and through you. You can resist it, but you can never stop it completely. When you are born into your human form, you emerge on the “outer edge” or “leading edge” of experience, and you gain something (and you lose something too). You gain the ability to create personal preferences for what you want to be, do, and have. You are given the gift of creating new reality with your thoughts. You are given opportunities to sift through multiple ideas so that you can desire, expand, and grow. You are presented with contrasting experiences that help you know what you don’t want, so that you can be clear about what you do want. But what you lose is your perfect vibrational synchronicity to Source Energy. When you were not in human form, your vibration and your inner being’s vibration were one vibration. But from that vantage point (as one vibration) there is no growth, and no contrast exists to hone desire for more. You came here and became Source Energy as a human on planet Earth: you became Spirit having a Human experience.
The most important thing to note about all of this is that you exist for a very important reason: you are helping the Universe to expand. When you were part of pure, positive energy before you were in human form, your experience didn’t create expansion. Now that you are here, your experience creates desire, and that desire is felt by Source. The moment you desire something, Source expands to the outer limits of that desire. In other words, if you want it, Source immediately becomes the full vibrational manifestation of that desire. You might be thinking, “ya, but so what? What does that mean to me here in this life right now?” It means everything.
When your Source expands because of your experience on planet Earth, you and Source are way out of vibrational alignment. When this happens, you can tell because you don’t feel good. The discord is felt through your emotions, and you become slightly cut off from the free flow of your life force from Source. Because Source has taken the expansion that YOU asked for through your personal preferences, you will not feel good until you also take the same vibrational expansion. When you DO take the vibrational expansion, you will feel emotions like gratitude, belief, happiness, passion, appreciation, and bliss.
I am so appreciative that we always know where we are in relation to our alignment with Source Energy. Our number one job is to allow ourselves to be in alignment with the expanded version of ourselves! Source, by the way, will not retreat to a lesser vibration, so until you come up to speed with the new you, you won’t feel very good. Let your emotions be your guide, and know that you are a unique and important part of the expansion of the Universe. You are on the leading edge of thought, and everything you are matters to the eternal unfolding of everything. You are important, worthy, significant, and irreplaceable. Enjoy this most amazing day! I just love the Law of Attraction, and I love knowing that what I give my attention to is magnified and manifested over time. I know that what I see, and the experiences I find in my NOW today are a perfect match to what I have been attracting through my vibration. I like paying attention to how I feel and adjusting as the day goes on. I also like the idea that Chris wrote about yesterday, because if there is only inclusion, and things can’t “get me” that I don’t invite in, then I really am in control of my experience. This feels good.
But with the oh-so-good- feeling of ultimate control in my life comes the responsibility to guide my experience. I can’t simply look to others to tell me what to do, because they can’t feel what I am feeling. They haven’t walked in my vibrational shoes, and they can’t possibly be feeling my guidance as strongly as I can. (Actually, I don’t think they can feel MY guidance at all…only their own!) Each person must be their own vibrational compass on the churning seas of their own personal reality. This is probably why some people resist ideas like the Law of Attraction…it’s seems less complicated to just “follow the rules” of parents, teachers, or social institutions who are more than willing to tell you how you should behave. I get it, and it is a responsibility I gladly take on…with joy and bliss, and purpose!
OK, so I have this charge to guide my experience, and I know that I can be, do, or have anything that I can achieve vibrational harmony with. As I said, I have fun observing what I am getting and then adjusting…but how do I more carefully and consciously create a specific experience, with obvious manifestations that I can recognize when they arrive? I have struggled with this in the past, because when I get to the point of deliberate focus, I’m not always sure what I should ask for! I have friends who can blurt out the things they want, no thinking at all, just here’s my list. Jealous. I know that contrast creates desire, and I don’t really need to worry too much about all of this. When I experience contrast it helps me ask for something else, and then the “asking” is done. But I am ready to move into a new level of asking…deliberate, focused asking.
Here is one method I used for finding out what I want. I asked myself if I am keeping myself from wanting because I don’t really believe I am allowed to ask for certain things. What I mean is, I might really want a new car, but I might be afraid to want it too much because I might not believe that I can afford it. So my belief in not having the money to buy a car could be keeping me from asking for it. OK, so I got a piece of paper and wrote “Money is no object for me. What do I want?” I had to be willing to let the first sentence sink in, because I could feel myself resisting the outlandish concept that money didn’t play into the equation. But once I let the money block go, my imagination began to take wings. This process uncovered other blocks to my brainstorming that I wasn’t even aware of. As I shed each limiting belief, at least for the exercise, I found no end to the things I was willing to draw to me…things that felt great to me while thinking about them.
What keeps you from asking for what you want? Do you have the “I don’t know what I want” block too sometimes? Remove your “ya, but” thinking and just put it on vacation today. See what comes up. You can have anything, be anything, and do anything that you achieve vibrational harmony with. Vibrational harmony is achieved when you move into hope, optimism, expectation and belief on the subject. I found this game thrilling for me, and I play it as often as I can. When you are living fully through the Law of Attraction, you have to pay attention to how you feel. When you feel good, you are drawing to you things you have asked for. If you feel bad, you are holding yourself apart form the things you want to create in your life. This doesn’t mean that you will never feel bad…you will…every day. But when you feel negative emotion you can turn it back around to a positive emotion. The key is becoming aware of resistance in your vibration. Try using these five steps to stay a match to what you are asking for through Law of Attraction:
1. Notice pain or stiffness in your body. When you notice it, turn the emotional corner and breathe into the pain or stiffness. See yourself adding light and love and gratitude into the stiff area. Imagine it releasing and relaxing. This really works if you stop and really do it, I promise.You will feel better.
2. Notice how you talk to yourself. My first GP post on 11-14-09 was on listening to the voices in your head (click HERE to see it). As you move through the day, pay attention to the words you use to talk to yourself. Do you praise your actions and feelings, or do you “talk down” to yourself? Do you say “nice interaction…I have perfect timing” or do you more often say “hey dummy, that was a stupid thing to do.”? If you are not being kind to yourself, turn the emotional corner by affirming that you aren’t perfect, and that you are doing the best you can. Change words that criticize into words that uplift. Let your view of yourself match the view that your inner being has about you. Your inner being loves you and knows you are exactly where you need to be right now. You will feel better.
3. Notice how you talk directly to others. Your vibration is also affected by the way you interact with others directly. Are you kind and uplifting to the people you see everyday? It’s easier to be kind to friends and family as opposed to the annoying cashier at the market. But your vibration (and emotional state) depends on how you handle the annoying people too. Can you find something to like about them? Can you see yourself in them somehow. Turn the emotional corner by giving them credit for who they are, and by feeling grateful for the service they are providing to you. You will feel better.
4. Notice how you talk with others ABOUT others. It is easy and tempting for two people to put down a third person, especially if that person is not present to hear it. It can feel good to agree with a friend that another person is ugly, stupid, inappropriate, or incompetent. But if you say these things, the experience won’t raise your vibration much, and soon you will feel the lowering of your vibration too. Turn the emotional corner by refusing to criticize others, even when someone is egging you on. The best way to do this is to start saying nice things about the person instead of degrading things. Or just don’t say anything at all. You will feel better.
5. Notice when you are clumsy. This is a real step. A sign of your disconnection can come through stubbing a toe, dropping a glass, hitting your head while turning, or by spilling a cup of hot coffee. When these things happen, stop and turn the emotional corner by affirming that you have some negative emotion activated. Simply take a deep breath and feel gratitude for your inner guidance that let’s you know when you are disconnected. Say “thanks” and move ahead a little more slowly and thoughtfully. Maybe you can also stop and close your eyes and collect yourself as well. Forgive yourself for attracting the spill, accident, or clumsiness, and move on ahead with confidence and humbleness. You will stop the chain of weirdness and you will surely feel better!

When you ask for something through your vibrational output (and this happens automatically and continuously), the Law of Attraction lines you up with it. Your life is a constant reflection of what you have been thinking and vibrating in the past. Luckily, when you think something and feel a certain way, it doesn’t manifest instantly. Imagine if what you thought became “real” as you thought it. If you felt disconnected and powerless, you would immediately crash your car, or become deadly sick. But our thoughts take time to manifest, and it takes a certain amount of momentum to create a manifestation. What you experience in any given moment is more of a vibrational average of what you have been offering over time. This is why when you think a connected thought, you don’t see instant well being…and when you think a disconnected thought, you don’t get instant contrast. This is a great thing, trust me.
Now, this leads us to the fact that you will always be moving between connection and disconnection, feeling good and feeling not-so-good. It’s part of being human on Planet Earth. Disconnection (or contrast) helps you clarify what you want by identifying what you don’t want. In every disconnected moment you literally create something new in your vibration. Once it is created, you have the opportunity to attract it to you and allow it to manifest. Until you create it (through contrast) it literally does not exist for you. So your job is to move through your day, notice how you feel, and do your best to feel the best you can.
But when you find yourself in a bad-feeling, disconnected moment of great contrast…take a deep breath and affirm that “I just expanded my asking, and I am ready to move back into feeling better. I am an amazing creator!” You will never feel good all the time. It’s alright to expand and create through feeling disconnected occasionally. Just remember that you can’t allow your new creation while you are creating it. You job, once you feel better, is to receive your new expansion through feeling good. Start today by simply noticing when you are creating, and when you are allowing. If you feel not-so-good, you are creating. If you feel good, you are allowing. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

When you feel good, good things are coming to you through the Law of Attraction. But you don’t need to feel bliss all the time. The vibrational scale has vibrations below bliss that also are allowing your desires to flow to you. Hopeful, optimistic, expecting, and believing are vibrations that are just below happy, passionate, loving, appreciative, and blissful. If you can’t get to bliss, then shoot for hopeful. If by thinking hopeful thoughts you can get to optimistic, then live in that vibration for a while. Keep adding optimistic thoughts, but be sure they feel like optimism. If you fall back into hopeful (or content, bored or pessimistic) it’s OK! Just turn it around and reach for the best thought you can. As long as you notice how you feel, and as long as you reach for feeling as good as you can, you will move up the vibrational scale easily. Once you are in the vibration of belief, love and bliss are on your doorstep. Try this out today, and let us know what you experienced. Be.Love, Hannya

The Law of Attraction is a very consistent law of the Universe. Simply stated, we get more of what we think about. But mastering the Law of Attraction is not as simple as thinking certain thoughts and ignoring other thoughts. The reason why is that the Universe responds to your vibration, and not to your words. So when you attempt to think certain words, without paying attention to how you feel when you think the words, you may be attracting something different than what you think you are attracting. It’s always about the vibration you are sending out…which is why it makes good sense to expand your skills of knowing how you feel. This explains, to a large degree, why people are surprised by what they attract. I will hear someone say “there is absolutely no way that I attracted this event into my experience.” They will go on to say how “positive” they have been, and all the things they do to stay connected to Source Energy. I applaud their desire for connection, and also their best efforts to make it happen. In the end, you are lined up with with more things that match the essence of your average vibrational offering. So if you have been feeling relatively powerless while trying to think positive words, the Universe only hears you say “I am powerless” and brings you more events, people, and opportunities for you to feel powerless.
Today, pay even greater attention to how you feel when you offer your words to yourself and others. Try to feel what message you are sending out to all corners of the Universe. Know that you are asking for more of how you are feeling…and make it your sincere desire to feel good as much as possible. Feeling good puts you in a place where your positive words can match your vibrational asking. Then you can get even more excited about how your life will unfold, thrill you, and expand in amazing ways that will spiral upward and upward. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

It’s easy to mislead ourselves and think that our happiness resides somewhere in our future, in a time where we have overcome our obstacles and we are “complete.” In fact, you probably know, or are related to, quite a few people who have been putting their happiness “on hold” so that they can finish up what they are working on presently. I am coming to realize that “completion” is some sort of unattainable ideal, because the nature of the Universe is one of constant expansion. If you could reach a point (and this is impossible) where you were perfect, complete, finished, and done growing, you would lose the gift of evolution to new ways of being. You would reach a place where expansion was no longer possible. You would have nothing left to draw you forward toward new ideas. You would be bored, bored, bored, BORED! You will never be done growing and expanding, and this is excellent news. Because of this fact, it makes sense to make peace with this reality by acknowledging that where you are right now is exactly where you need to be. Where you are is simply where you are…period.
The beauty of this fact (that you are as finished right now as you will ever be) is that you can enjoy the unfolding of your life…right now. The present is your point of power, and you have everything at your finger tips right now that can thrill you and give you boundless satisfaction. You have most likely experienced wanting something with all your heart. You thought about it, dreamed about it, and held it as your pure desire over time. Then, almost suddenly, it’s yours. Don’t you remember how you felt at this point? It feels really good to manifest the thing you wanted…but it never feels quite as good, or lasts quite as long as you imagined it would. Almost immediately, you have a new object of desire, and you stand in a new place launching new ideas that you will strive for. It simply never ends.
So I suggest that today you take the opportunity to note the perfection of your present time and place. Everything in the Universe is available to you in this moment. The Law of Attraction has lined you up perfectly with everything you need. There is nothing to wait for…you have arrived…and you will never arrive. Don’t postpone your connection to Source Energy, because it is never in the future…it’s always in your present, available in abundance and in inexhaustible amounts. Don’t wait to be happy. Accept and allow your happiness right now. Your present is perfectly imperfect. Love it and expand through it. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

When I was 16, I began attending the LDS church. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what LDS stands for, it’s the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter Day Saints (hence the LDS), or Mormon church. Shortly after, I joined the church, and was an active member for over 10 years. I left the church over differences of opinion regarding spiritual matters. But I digress. One of the things I most enjoyed about the church was the music. Like most of the churches of the christian faith, we sang hymns of worship every Sunday, including one of the corner stone hymns of the church “Come, come ye Saints.” Where am I going with this, you may be asking. I’m glad you asked! One of the creators of Gratitude Planet has a wonderful tradition of saying three simple words in many of his articles. “All is well.” While these words speak a truth that has been handed down for generations from seers and prophets, to kings and poets, these three simple words, “All is well,” hold a very special place in my heart and mind, because of the ending of that one hymn that I used to sing so many years ago. The words go like this: “Do this in joy, your hearts will swell. All is well…All is well.” So many times we go through our lives in fear of not getting what we will need to sustain us. We worry about the current economic conditions that has grappled the collective minds of the entire world. Disease and warfare seem to be at the forefront of every news broadcast, and on the front page of every news paper and magazine. Our leaders disappoint us and we wonder where we are heading in the days to come. With all of this “stuff” going on, it’s sometimes hard to hold onto the fact that “All is well!” When this happens, when you find yourself dwelling on all of the negative garbage that is being shoved into your consciousness, here’s one simple thing that you do, that I have found to be of great benefit at helping me take charge of my life. Are you ready for it? It’s really revolutionary. OK….here it is.
Stop. That’s right……..stop. Stop whatever it is your doing and take a deep breath. Close you eyes and calm yourself as much as possible. Remind yourself of who you are, and where you come from. You are part of something greater than any situation on this planet. You are part of Source. You are a creator. You are creating moments for yourself at every moment of every day. You have the power within you to create anything your imagination can come up with for yourself. Start to think of what it is you really want. Maybe you want more financial security. Perhaps you want to live in a more peaceful environment. Whatever it is, be sure to keep it in a positive frame of mind, so that good things will come your way. Take the time to reconnect with source and allow Law of Attraction to align you with those things that your heart most desires. As you reconnect, begin to take into you that eternal truth that all IS well. All IS provided for you. All that is good is heading your way. All you need do is ask, and you shall receive. Open your eyes and continue to breathe in the essence of all the good things that your heart and mind most desires. “Do this in joy, your hearts will swell. All is well….All is well.”

I had a minor revelation a couple of nights ago as I pondered how I felt and how I was interacting with others. I realized, in a deeper way than ever before, that I can offer little to others if I am not connected to Source Energy myself. When you feel connected, you feel good. Connection feels like fun, expansion, gratitude, and appreciation. Feeling good is your number one job, especially if you want to be of value to others. And yet, we have been told by many that the best way to serve others is through hard work and sacrifice. The message was something like “don’t be selfish, put others first, give more than you take, and do it as long as you can keep it up. Someday, after your death, you will be rewarded.” I am sure that you have received this message in some form, at some time, from people in your life. Here are five things to remember as you put all this into perspective:
1. There is no shortage of Source Energy. It exists in abundance and will never run out.
2. You are worthy to receive Source Energy. There is no test to pass to make you worthy. It is yours for the taking, and it is free.
3. When you allow Source Energy to flow through you, you have everything to give. When you are disconnected from Source Energy, you have very little to give, and what you try to do from sheer work won’t make as much of a difference to others.
4. When you are motivated without being connected to Source Energy, people will be less inspired by your words and actions. Your intention to uplift others will be watered down. When you are inspired through your connection to Source Energy, people will sense your enthusiasm, your genuine gratitude and appreciation, and your full belief that all is well.
5. The Law of Attraction works the same if you are connected to Source Energy, as it does if you are NOT connected to Source Energy. So it is impossible, by Universal law, to attract something different than your own vibrational offering. Through your conscious connection to Source Energy, you set the bar that determines your power, expansion, allowing, and value to others.
The insight I received the other evening happened when I was feeling good while talking over dinner. The conversation was fun and expanding, and I had so much to say that felt good while I said it. At one point the conversation, for what ever reason, turned to a topic that didn’t feel as good. Without thinking, I joined in and helped the conversation feel worse and worse, adding comments and stories that moved me away from my Source Energy. I started moving down the vibrational scale until I felt pretty disconnected and even sad. I could see that my friends were also feeling the “buzz kill” of the conversation. Now, from my disconnection I decided to uplift the table by saying things that felt a little better. However, I was trying to offer these words before I felt better myself. Saying the words actually made me feel worse, and I could tell that it felt awkward to the others too. So then I remained quiet for a short time, maybe two minutes, and just thought thoughts of gratitude and appreciation. Talking to myself felt easier than trying to change others from my point of disconnection, and within two minutes I had a good-feeling vibration rolling again. My next offering to the group was met with smiles and felt like it made a positive difference to the vibration of the group. Notice today when you move ahead in your connection to Source Energy, and when you just move ahead to make something happen. Start being more sensitive to the way you feel when you are working, and when you are flowing with Source. Flow more, work less, and be filled with love and gratitude. Enjoy this most amazing day! I was walking the other day and started noticing the voices in my head. Before you think I am crazy (which my friends would say I might be) remember that we all talk to ourselves in our mind. There seems to be a constant chatter going on commenting on everything that is happening all the time. Sometimes when I meditate I can get it to calm down but it is mostly always there. You probably have noticed the same thing. So on my walk I started observing what the chatter in my mind was. I think because of the rhythm I was walking to, I was mostly singing songs to myself. The songs were songs I know or have known from my past. I had to ask the question, “what vibration am I reinforcing with these songs?” I know Law of Attraction always hears what you say and vibrate. The words to the song I had in my head when I started noticing all of this went like this: shot to the heart and you’re to blame…you give love a bad name!” I like this song. But I had to decide if it was a good use of my walk and inner talk time to be repeating these words to myself. So for fun, I sang the song but changed the words a bit: love with your heart it keeps you sane…I give love a good name!” Just singing the new words to myself made me laugh and smile, and I swear I could feel my vibration raise. I felt better. So notice today what you say to yourself and see if it raises your vibration. If it doesn’t then change the words, the song, of the theme of your inner voices. I was thinking this morning about the phrase “as if your life depended on it,” like when someone says “run as if your life depends on it.” It has several angles worth examining. When you say that your life depends on something, it tends to get your attention. With attention comes focus, and through focus we get clarity. When you are clear about what you want, it is easier to become aligned with an idea. When you are aligned, the Law of Attraction does it’s magic and brings more things to you that are a match to the alignment you have created. So anything that gets your attention can be of benefit to your progress as you create a deliberate life of bliss and connection.
But does your life really depend on something for its existence? Aren’t we eternal beings? Surely we will all make a transition someday back into pure, positive energy. But that won’t be an end, it will just be another transition in an ever-unfolding Universe of expansion. So if we fear death as an end, it can certainly get our attention and give us focus and motivation…but it may cause us to chase our connection to Source from a disconnected, fear-based focus. So I don’t recommend creating focus through fear. So the phrase, “live as if your life depended on it” seems less helpful from this perspective.
So this morning I am using the following phrase to focus my attention to my wellbeing: “Today I live as if my love depends on it!” I am an eternal being. My life is assured. The only real question I have today, then, is whether or not I am allowing my full connection to Source Energy (Love) or not. When I live as if my love depends on it, I take a focused look at how I feel today, knowing that I can open in love, or I can turn from love and be closed off from it. When I choose thoughts that feel good as I think them…thoughts of gratitude, appreciation, wellbeing, etc., I open up my consciousness to higher and higher (better feeling) vibrations. I become a conduit of love and connection. I uplift everyone in my experience (even through cyberspace). Choose today to pay attention to how you feel, and see if you can allow more love into your vibration. Love yourself first, and then let that love radiate out everywhere you go, into every interaction you have. Your life doesn’t depend on it, but your love does. Live in love today. Last summer I did something I haven’t done in years. I was visiting family and there was a large puzzle on the kitchen table in the process of being completed. Working on a puzzle looks so boring, and I hardly consider it as an activity worth spending time on. But I was on vacation, and I really wanted to spend time with family members, so I started working on the puzzle with them. I have to say, it is way more fun to work on a puzzle than it is to watch someone else work on a puzzle.I suppose that is a good analogy for life as well: it’s so much fun to be a thriving part of an expanding and fulfilling life than it is to watch someone else thriving and expanding. Luckily, we all get to choose how our life expands through the Law of Attraction, and if there is something we want, we need only give our full attention to it and allow it into our experience. There is another great parallel to life and a puzzle: if you do the whole puzzle in anticipation of how you will feel when you put the last piece in place, you will have a lot of hard work for a small payoff at the end. And most likely, like life, you probably won’t feel a huge thrill when the last piece is in place…it will feel like the next logical step, and you will probably be ready for another puzzle. The trick is enjoying the process of putting it together, and having lots of little thrills along the way to enjoy, knowing that the end is not the goal.
If you live your life like a beautiful puzzle, there will be some immediate advantages to you. Here are some that come to me this morning:
1. You know you are making something beautiful.
2. You have many triumphs along the way.
3. Small roadblocks release into times of great progress, as you find a section of pieces that fit together.
4. You know that there is order to it all, and you can relax into full awareness that all is well, and that everything you need is provided.
5. You have a job: to find the next piece. Your job is not to finish it all with the next piece, nor could you if you tried to.
6. With every piece added, the whole scene gets more and more beautiful.
7. Problems (pieces not found) on one day get a new perspective on another day, and you “see” things you missed the previous day.
8. Others can help you see things you were missing as well.
9. You don’t try to force pieces that look close but don’t fit, but rather you relax and know that the right piece is out there to complete your perfect image.
10. On some level you realize that it’s really just a game. It’s probably not your first or last puzzle, so there is no rush to complete it so that you can be deserving. You are exactly in the right place at the right time, right now…doing today’s puzzle.
