Everything You Want Is Available Right NOW!

On my desk at work I used to have two file holders that were displayed prominently. One said “To Do Tomorrow,” and the other said “To Avoid Doing All Together.” My intention was to be humorous, and most people took it that way. Because I am my own boss, no one could tell me to take it off the desk…and I liked the idea of being able to put something in a perpetual holding pattern until I was ready to deal with it. But this funny story also illustrates a few things about Law of Attraction, connection to Source, and general happiness in your life. We all have things that we file in a vibrational “to do tomorrow” file, and today is a good day to look and see what you have put in there so far.

Law of Attraction works all day every day to match your average vibration with similar thoughts, events, circumstances, and miracles that expand your idea of what already is. Law of Attraction does not give you new material to work with, but rather it adds to what you have presently. Like attracts like. The only way to change your present reality is to expand your idea of what already is, and to practice thinking, feeling, and acting in new vibrational patterns. In essence, you have to live your desires today, and feel as if you already have the new circumstance you desire. For example, if you want a new intimate relationship, you would do well to spend time in the present savoring how wonderful this relationship already is, enjoying how you feel in the new relationship, and letting yourself bliss out about it right now. If you try, you can “trick yourself” into enjoying the relationship even before it appears! And once you learn this technique: to appreciate, love, and enjoy things before they manifest…you will change your life into a magical expression of bliss, allowing, and connection. You see, once you think you have something, to the point of being grateful and appreciative for it NOW, it will be matched and intensified by Law of Attraction, and your experience will expand to include more of it. Like attracts like.

So when you file something you want in your mental “to do tomorrow” file, you tell Law of Attraction that you don’t want it today. You speak through your vibration by affirming that everything you want is coming in the future. But, of course, tomorrow never comes. Tomorrow becomes now, and next week becomes now, and next year becomes now, and unless you change your vibrational “to do tomorrow” file to read “already completed,” you will never see evidence of the things you want. What do you think about and yearn for as a future event, circumstance, or manifestation? Just finish this sentence: “Someday I will…” and you will have your list. You may say “Someday I will lose weight, have more money, have a lover, be healthy, and have a meaningful job.” None of these can ever come to you today, and tomorrow never comes either. You have to refile these into a vibration of being here right now. You have to feel the joy you would feel if they were here now. You just have to be a match to having them already. It’s not as hard as it may seem, and your imagination is your friend. Be child-like and enjoy pretending more. Talk like the things are already real. Savor having it all right now, then see your life change in 30 days or less. I am not kidding when I say you can attract anything you want, but you have to get out of the way and stop putting things in your “future file.” Are you ready to enjoy yourself today, knowing fully that it’s yours already? Good News Abounds If You Look For It!

Isn’t it a little disconnecting to listen to the news? It seems like it is next to impossible to listen to an hourly update on National Public Radio without news of death and gloom happening somewhere in the world. The problem with this is, of course, that you can’t give your attention to something unwanted without including it in your vibration. Anything you look at, observe, associate with, or perceive in any way becomes part of your personal vibration…the same vibration that you send out to the Universe asking for more of the same. Remember that the Law of Attraction is always working perfectly to line you up with more of what you are offering in every moment. So what ever you include in your perception, you get more of over time. Everyone gets to choose what they give their attention to, so we advise you to choose only things that feel good when you think them…and literally ignore the rest. You may ask, “but what if I end up living under a rock, not knowing what is going on in the world?” And we say, if you feel good under the rock, blissfully unaware, through your connection you will attract many good things to you. And you may still worry “how can I function without the news and without knowing about the world around me?” It’s doesn’t need to be an “either/or” question. I suggests the following: Make your own news! Sift through the news looking for things that make you feel good while reading about them. For example, if the unemployment rate goes to 10%, think about the fact that nine out of ten people still have a job, and that things for the others will get better very soon. That feels better than focusing on the part of the story that feels bad when you read it. In fact, there may be only 10% bad news going on in the world right now. Just because the media scrapes up these bad stories and gives them 90% of the air time does NOT mean you need to give it 100% of your attention. What is the good news for you today? I can think of ten bits of good news in my life this morning:

1. I slept well last night

2. Loved breakfast today

3. Enjoyed a conversation with a friend last night

4. Found something I thought I lost

5. Fixed my internet connection

6. Digested my food efficiently

7. Had a good chance to do yoga and meditate this morning

8. Saw many smiling faces on my morning walk

9. Attended a great concert last night

10. Met some new friends that have common interests with me lest night

Are these stories of good news? You bet! Why give your attention to a small amount of bad news that is blown all out of proportion? Try giving your full attention to the 90% of the news that is closer, more real to you, and that feels good right now. You’ll be glad you did, and quickly you will feel good, connected to the world, and ready to receive all that you are asking for. Enjoy this most amazing day!  Chris-GP

The Emotional Scale: A Different “Twist.”

After reading Chris’ post entitled Understanding and Using the Emotional Scale,” I experienced some insights that I would like to share with the GP community. As you may know, the way we feel has everything to do with what is being lined up for us using the Law of Attraction. The Emotional and Vibrational Scale helps us know where we are in relation to the Vortex (where we are connected to prosperity, Source Energy, and well-being). As I understood it, we all have a range of emotions that we have access to, and no single emotion can be very far away from one that is similar, either just above, or just below that feeling or emotion.  If what we are feeling is not what we want for ourselves, we can choose to move up the Emotional Scale by choosing the feeling that is just above where we are presently feeling. When we obtain that lift in thought and emotion, and then find ourselves thinking and feeling the higher thoughts and feelings than where we started out, we move closer to feeling good and allowing everything we want to flow to us.  Isn’t it good to know that we are never stuck in any one place, feeling any one feeling, for an indefinite amount of time?  WE can choose for ourselves what we want to think and feel, and the Universe will respond to what we are thinking and feeling, bringing us closer and closer to our own Vortex, where all that we have asked for has been waiting to manifest into our lives.

At the end of the post, Chris put a picture of the emotional scale that he made for himself and his wife, which hangs on the wall in their home.  It was great to get a visual representation of the emotional scale, and see how it works in a two dimensional example.  As I studied the scale more and more, a mental picture began forming in my mind that was different from the one I was looking at on the site.  Not BETTER….not IMPROVED….just different.  As I see it, the Vibrational and Emotional Scale can be more fluid.  I began to see two spirals of thoughts and feelings coming from the very center of the head, and moving in opposite directions from each other; one spiral going upward, the other going downward.  Imprinted on the spirals are the words of the Emotional/Vibrational Scale (Contentment, Hopefulness, Pleasure, Joy, etc.).  As you move upwards on the spiral, the spiral gradually becomes larger, because, as we know, the better we feel, the more good things compound and become greater, and the more joy we experience.  We get more and more of all the good things that we desire, and our vibration lifts higher and faster, until we reach union with our inner being, and connect fully to Source Energy.  The same can be said of the downward spiral.  As we give attention to those things that cause us to travel along the downward spiral, our problems, our frustrations, our guilt, bad feelings and depressive moods compound on to one another, and we find ourselves getting further and further away from our true nature, and thus, further and further away from our connection to Source Energy.  The GOOD news, of course, is that we don’t have to stay in that downward spiral.  We can choose to change direction and start traveling upwards.  If we are in frustration, we can just slide up the spiral to pessimism.  From there, we slide up to boredom, and so forth.  If we are in Hopefulness, we slide up the upward spiral to Optimism, and then up to Positive Expectations…..you get the idea.

One thing about the double spiral is that it allows for a state of equilibrium…contentment.  When you are content, you are neither reaching for something, nor are you feeling that something is missing from your life experience. You are, as one of my teachers says “unconsciously incompetent,” meaning you don’t know that you are missing anything.  It is because of this equilibrium that I chose to put contentment directly in the center, between the two spirals.

After I was “content” with the way the spirals worked, I decided to try the idea out. I found it to be a great help throughout the day! At any point, all I needed to do was notice how I was feeling, and picture in my mind’s eye the two spirals coming out the top of my head and out the bottom, and then visualize where I was on either spiral.  From there, I imagined sliding up the spiral to the next highest thought and feeling, until I was sure that I had expanded into the new person who embodied that higher feeling.  From there, I slid up the spiral again, and again, and again until I reached the highest thought and feeling I could for that moment of the day.  I found it to be very efficient, and sooooo easy to do!!

I hope that this helps some of you in getting more in touch with the Emotional/Vibrational Scale. I’ve asked Chris to include a visual aid, so that everyone can look at the spirals to get a better idea of what I’m talking about. Source Energy and Law of Attraction: “Your Wish Is My Command!”

Don’t you feel, at times, that no one listens to what you are saying? Aren’t there times when you wish that people would just do what you want them to do, no questions asked? Sure, it would be nice to have a staff of people on your payroll who would make it their business to keep YOUR business in line…but people aren’t on planet Earth for your selfish desires. Everyone is searching to find their own joy and fulfillment, and so are you. We all have our own personal journey and dreams of adventure. So who can you count on to help you with your own private agenda? Why, Source Energy and Law of Attraction, of course!

Source Energy is always thinking about you in positive ways. Source is vibrating from a different vantage point than you are, and from the perspective of Source, all is well in your world. You are loved by Source, and your life, choices, growth, and expansion are all valued by your greater awareness that is nested in Source Energy. You are never wrong in the eyes of your greater consciousness, and your life is seen as a perfect unfolding of events and experiences that bring your thought beyond that which it has been before. You are a spiritual being having a human experience, and your spirit is much greater than the present awareness you have of YOU. You are the leading edge of a greater YOU that knows that life is supposed to be fun, and that the purpose of life is joy. This greater YOU is always on your side, and knows you better than anyone ever could know you. It’s fun to know that we have this personal connection to our broader perspective, and it’s exhilarating to feel the connection to our inner being through this connection to Source Energy. When we think like our inner being, connected to Source, we feel great because there is no discord between our human opinions and the opinions of our broader perspective. When we disagree with the consistently positive and connected opinions of our Source, we feel bad because of the discord of vibrations created by the pure, positive nature of Source, and the occasionally disconnected, self-degrading thoughts we entertain from time to time. In short, the more we think like Source, the better we feel, and the happier we are. You would do well to agree as often as you can with the opinions of Source Energy.

Law of Attraction, on the other hand, always agrees with YOU! What ever you decide, Law of Attraction works tirelessly to agree, hear your vibrational wish, and bring you more things, people, and events that match the essence of your wish. The Law of Attraction never asks “why do you want that?” It never questions your desires, opinions, or asking. It is like the story of the Genie in the Bottle who, after being released from the bottle, grants the wishes of the person who rubbed the bottle. The Genie didn’t question the wishes, but rather exclaimed “Your wish is my command!” This is great news, you might be thinking…and it is…as soon as you understand what it means “to ask.”

We ask Law of Attraction to line us up with things every time we direct our focus on something. The Law of Inclusion dictates that if we perceive something, we are asking for more of it. If you read stories about, say, car accidents, then you are including “car accidents” in your vibration and perception, and the Law of Attraction says “your wish is my command…I will bring you more interactions, events and experiences that match ‘car accidents.’” Whoa, you say, I never said I wanted car accidents. It doesn’t matter. If you include it in your experience and focus over time, you are asking for more. So it is very important to be picky about what you include in your awareness and vibration. A good rule of thumb is, if you want more of something, keep paying attention to it.

I appreciate the consistency of Source Energy requiring my agreement, and Law of Attraction always agreeing with me, even when I ask for things I really don’t want. It also grants me my wishes when I focus on things that I truly want more of as well. The more I think like Source, the more I can allow Source Energy to flow into my life. The more choosy I become with what I feed my vibration, the more I can enjoy the joy of life, and the expansion of my awareness. Your wishes CAN, and DO come true every day. Let your life be a powerful example of asking Law of Attraction for the things that thrill you and expand your joy. Your wish is my command…so take command today. Love and The Law of Attraction: Love YOU First!

As Valentine’s Day is upon us, I would like to pause to say a few words about love and The Law of Attraction. We know that the Law of Attraction is a powerful law of the Universe that governs how energy is attracted to similar energy. It is a vibrational law that helps you decipher your role in creating your life. Law of Attraction never lines you up with people and events that are very different than your average personal vibration, so there is never any danger of things being “asserted” into your experience. In other words, your vibration, based on your thoughts, feelings, and actions, is what invites the Law of Attraction to magnify your present experience. In fact, I like the image of a magnifying glass here. You never expect a magnifying glass to make an image different, but only bigger. Law of Attraction does the same as you offer a vibration…it makes where ever you are and what ever you have been thinking about bigger, more real, and part of your daily “reality.” You can’t blame a magnifying glass for giving more detail and information when you look through it, and likewise, there is no blame for the Law of Attraction when it matches your vibration and sends you more of the same. You get to choose what comes to you, especially when you learn to use the Law of Attraction deliberately and with conscious intent. So how does this all relate to the topic of Love?

Love, like all feelings, emotions and vibrational offerings, is experienced strongly sometimes, and less strongly other times. It feels great to “be in love,” and everyone enjoys the experience of having their heart completely open and free. Yet it is also true that you can’t always feel the powerful intoxication of love at all times. As spiritual beings having a human experience, there will always be times when we move down the vibrational scale for one reason or another. Our connection to Source Energy will come and go. But if your greater intention is to be connected, and if your desire is to feel good, you will be more likely to pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and actions in relation to what you are getting in your life as it unfolds. Your experience of love will match your overall average practice of self love and loving thoughts every day. Simply put, if you want more love in your life, you have to love more. Love whom, you might ask?

The Law of Attraction matches you with your present vibration. Love NOW to have more love later. Don’t wait for love to come to you. In any moment you can start making lists of the things you love about yourself. Decide to appreciate YOU for the amazing person you are right now. Ignore your critical thoughts by replacing them with thoughts that feel honest, but good. Law of Attraction will hear these thoughts just as loudly as any other thoughts, and will begin sending you thoughts, feelings, and experiences that match it. The better you feel, the better it gets, and the momentum will build and build. Choose love, be love, feel love…and love MUST be your experience. If you find it hard to love YOU, but find it easy to love others, then spend time appreciating others…but then turn back to YOU and do your best to magnify that experience too. Love your pets, and the environment, and the people in your neighborhood, and the people in the cars you see as you drive to work, and the clouds in the sky, and on and on. Once you choose to love yourself, and the things you encounter every day, you will set up a powerful vortex of magnified love that will flow to you unbounded by anything. You will experience more and more love coming to you “from outside yourself.” Law of Attraction will be your tool for love’s expression in your life more and more often. You will be creating the most amazing life you could ask for, and everything you have been wanting (so far) will flow into your life as easily as your breath flows to you in this moment. Love You, Love The World!

With Valentines Day coming this weekend, everyone is thinking, feeling, and talking about how the energy of love moves in and out of their life. I want to offer some loving statements for you to ponder. I am ready to let more love and joy into my life, and I know you probably feel the same. Here are my statements for love and Valentine’s Day!

  1. Love flows to me, through me, and all around me always!
  2. People love me always, even if they struggle to show it in ways I can see. I accept their love completely.
  3. Love from Source Energy is never ending, all powerful, and only limited by my ability to relax and allow it. Therefore, I am in love always!
  4. I love me. I may not always please me, or anyone for that matter, but I always love me.
  5. My actions, thoughts, and feelings are in direct expression to my knowing that all is well, and that Love is why we are here. I live in love and joy!
  6. My Inner Being loves me in every moment. I choose to think more and more like my Inner Being. I see and believe in the love flowing to me always!
  7. I choose to share my loving connection with others. I love without condition, and I accept the reactions I get from this giving. It maters not how I am received…I give either way.
  8. I relax, I allow, and I receive love from Planet Earth. I know that all systems are functioning to keep us alive, healthy, and thriving. I give gratitude and appreciation for the planet we travel through space upon, and I love it in all its aspects.
  9. I love all the lovers I have ever had, and will ever have, both in this life, in past lives, and in future lives. Thank you for all the love, insights, connected moments, and deep expressions I have been blessed to share with you.
  10. I love. Period.

But There Must Be Some Mistake…Why Would I Create THIS?

Sometimes I wonder if being a celebrity is really as much fun as it seems to be. Living a life in the spotlight must have some exciting moments, and I am sure that high-profile people have a sharp sense of the leading edge of thought, for better or for worse. The joy and contrast that famous people encounter, however, is probably not exceedingly different than anyone else’s experience. We have seen a new wave of celebrity scandals lately, from former Presidential candidate John Edwards to golf legend Tiger Woods (as well as many others). No one is perfect, and no one ever will be. Each person has their own challenges and desires, and it can’t be easy to have millions of people watching you at all times, ready to blame you for your imperfect journey on planet Earth. I rarely give these stories my attention because I am not interested in including them in my vibration, and hence, into my experience. But there are two stories I will mention briefly today to make a point…that there is never a mistake concerning the Law of Attraction because what you get is always a match to your vibrational offering…always, with no exceptions.

I was reading another Law of Attraction blog (’cause I always like to read about and meet new people who are deliberate creators), and I read that Dr. Wayne Dyer had been diagnosed with some sort of cancer. My thoughts became confused for a moment, and then I asked “but how could someone like Wayne Dyer, who seems to have his act together so well, attract cancer? What went wrong?” The answer is, of course, that nothing “went wrong.” Knowing about Law of Attraction doesn’t make someone live in a thought bubble and immune to their own habits of thought. You are a spiritual being having a human experience on this planet, so you will have experiences now and again that feel like contrast. It’s part of the deal. That doesn’t mean that you can’t help others with insights that you have gained through your studies and experiences, and your imperfection shouldn’t stop you from adding as much value as you can to this world. The quote I read that was ascribed to Wayne felt very connected, and he seemed to be in a very allowing frame of mind about his diagnosis. This made me think about how we can’t stop contrast from coming into our lives (nor would we want to do this), but that we have ultimate power to decide how we focus our energy after the manifestation. A contrasting experience always opens up a strong desire for something better, and embracing the new desire is our number one job. That is what I felt from reading Wayne Dyer’s words about his condition. He is turning toward wellness with a new and energized focus. Because the manifestation was not an accident, but rather a culmination of energy flow (or energy blockage), he has a gift-like opportunity to examine how it all came to be. Turning to wellness will help him allow even more wellness. It works this way for everyone, famous or only locally famous.

So what if you are a deliberate creator and you create what can only be described as a total CRAP storm? In this reference I am talking about author and entrepreneur James Arthur Ray. You may remember James as one of the featured speakers in the movie “The Secret.” James did very well creating his own brand name associated with the Law of Attraction, and still has a loyal following who can separate the messenger from the message. He now also has some fierce detractors. He has been arrested for negligent homicide for a tragic incident that left three people dead during one of his retreats. This has caused quite a buzz in the LOA blogosphere, because he is a very visible person who has appeared on programs like Oprah in the name of Law of Attraction. It seems easier to blame James for his woes because he is a motivational speaker, and he makes a living calling others out on their blind spots and weaknesses. It seems like he should have seen this coming, and should have adjusted his thinking accordingly. But he, too, is only human and lives by the same Universal laws we all live with. He obviously didn’t predict the outcome here, and I believe there was no intent to kill anyone. But still, he attracted a XXXL-sized dose of contrast, and it is up to him to find the meaning behind the experience, and adjust accordingly. The Southern California staff from Gratitude Planet went together to see James speak this past fall, and we all had a funny feeling intuitively that we all shared after the seminar over drinks. We all felt an unease about his vibration, as if he was working really, really hard (too hard) to sell us his products. The word “allowing” didn’t make a whole lot of sense compared to the energy we felt that night from the stage. After the talk, he disappeared from the room without chatting with anyone, shaking hands, or answering questions. We were very confused…we wanted to believe he was perfect and living his message. I fully believe in his message, even if the messenger is struggling to hold it all together. When I heard that he attracted the mess he did, I can’t say I was surprised. We felt he was carrying and practicing a vibration that kept him from feeling free…and one that kept us from feeling his free and true self…and now he has manifested another challenge to his freedom, that of potential incarceration.

Interestingly, I read that Wayne Dyer is often the last person standing in a room where he gives a talk. He chats, listens, and gives freely of his time and energy for the people who are interested in his message. These two men, James and Wayne, have had two literally contrasting experiences…and each will continue to attract based on their most practiced vibration. Again, you can’t avoid things going “wrong” for you, but you CAN do your best to live your highest version of YOU. Be grateful, give freely, relax, and let your life be joyful as much as possible. Be appreciative for the famous people who help us learn about ourselves in public, so that we can be our imperfect selves in private. Send love to others, even when they fall short of your expectations. Let people chose what they will, and choose for yourself as well as you can. There is a perfect unfolding in the Universe, and we have an opportunity to align with it if we choose to…not for the sake of perfection, but for the sake of JOY! There are no mistakes. Choosing Optimism (part 2)

My first post on optimism was called “Optimism is a Choice” and can be read by clicking HERE if you haven’t already digested it. Optimism is one of the emotional range levels on the Vibrational/Emotional Scale, somewhere above the feelings of “hopefulness and contentment.” When you are in optimism you are in the vibrational flow of the Universe enough that the Law of Attraction can bring you evidence of the positive changes you have asked for in your experience. Optimism aligns you with allowing, and it is the gateway to the more powerful emotions of allowing such as Gratitude, Positive Expectation, Belief, Enthusiasm, Eagerness, Happiness, Passion, Joy, Knowledge, Empowerment, Freedom, Love, Bliss, and Appreciation. It is the “gate keeper” to the Vortex, where the Law of Attraction “assembles all cooperative relationships.” Reach for optimism, and you reach for your connection to Source Energy and your inspiration to action as communicated through your inner being. But how do you become an optimistic person? You simply practice doing it until it becomes a habit. Here are several tips to practice being optimistic today:

  • Remember that few things on planet Earth are 100% sure. In any scientific study, or poll of people, you will have a split of opinions and findings, and a margin of error. For example, if a large percentage of people believe that they will get the flu this year, there are also some people that believe that they will NOT come down with the flu. This will play out in “reality” and some will and some won’t get the flu. Even if 90% of people get the flu, you can affirm at any time that you will be one of those people who will remain completely healthy. TIP SUMMARY: No one, not even a majority of people, can force me to believe anything that I do not choose to believe.
  • You can always use your power of focus to direct your thoughts toward what you want at all times. Use affirming statements when you are driving, exercising, or drifting off to sleep. Some of my favorites are “I always find a parking space,” and “I have perfect timing in all things,” and “I always have enough to be happy,” and “Today is going to be a great day,” and “Things always work out for me,” and “I expect to see and draw to me happy and connected people today,” and “My dreams tonight will be fun, exciting, and inspiring.”  TIP SUMMARY: You are in complete control of the thoughts you choose to think, and you can use affirmations to help you make optimism a habitual vibrational offering.
  • You can help others see potential positive aspects in things. When you are listening to someone talk, you can find the best in what they are saying and reinforce it back to them. You can say “What I hear you saying is that your perfect job is on the way, and that you will be in the right place at the right time when your perfect job opens up. That’s awesome!” Even if they didn’t say it to you with those exact words, it is uplifting to decide to take their words with an optimistic slant. There are other times where you will have to insert an optimistic phrase in an otherwise pessimistic conversation. Be careful not to be annoying, but also let them know that you see it a little differently. You might say “ya, jobs are hard to find, so I understand your frustration. But I know you will get a great job soon. People thrive in all times, and I see you thriving in my mind’s eye. All is well.” You should feel a little softening in their resistance if your words are phrased carefully. TIP SUMMARY: You can practice your optimism every time you are face-to-face with others.

I love knowing that I can be one of the growing number of people that choose to see the world as opening, evolving, growing, connecting, loving, and allowing. I am elated that I get to choose if I connect or disconnect through my thinking. I am grateful that my interaction with others can be of great value to others. I so appreciate the times when I can be uplifted by the thinking and words of others. I love turning and giving my attention to things that feel good, and making the best out of the things that feel like contrast. I love striving to see my glass overflowing with wellbeing. I love living the results and manifestations that I am enjoying from thinking optimistically over time. Optimisim Is A Choice!

I would like to start a series of posts about using optimism to your advantage. Optimism is a key tool in harnessing the full power of the Law of Attraction, and it is nothing more than being picky about the thoughts you choose to think. Each person has a vibrational range, and this range is determined by the average feeling or vibrational content of the thoughts you have been thinking. If you haven’t read the GP post on Using the Emotional Scale, you may want to read it first by clicking HERE. You only have access to thoughts that are close to your vibrational range, so trying to feel optimism when you are feeling doubt is next to impossible to do. But I like optimism as a default “go to” vibration for several reasons. Even if you are in the vibrational range of doubt, your job is to find the best thought that you have vibrational access to. Instead of having to remember what emotional label is above doubt (in this case it is disappointment) I reach for “an optimistic thought” in my range, which might move me into a little higher vibration. I find this easier to do (at least for me) than trying to feel disappointment. I reach for “optimistic doubt” and I land in something that feels better than doubt. From there, I do the same thing again and find some thoughts that could be called “optimistic disappointment,” even if I don’t use that label.

I believe that optimism is especially powerful because it includes a reference to both sides of the issue: the glass is half full, or it is half empty. It helps you choose to focus on the side of the issue that tells a better story. It looks objectively at something and makes the most out of it. It is a launching pad for climbing the emotional scale on any issue. It recognizes the choices you have with two distinct paths, one that leads you closer to where you want to be, and one that leads you away from your desired emotional destination. It is the opposite of delusional; it is grounded and realistic while still being a reach on the vibrational scale. (Incidentally, you can make a good case for the concept of being delusional too, forgetting about “reality” completely and giving thought only to your goal. Many successful people call this “being focused.”)

Do you consider yourself to be an optimist? I know some people that pride themselves on being a self-described “devil’s advocate” and finding the fault in any idea, plan, or brainstorm. They feel that they play an important role in the conversation by bringing everyone down to a realistic level. But they actually do themselves a disservice by lowering their own emotional set point of vibration, which inevitably keeps them feeling worse and worse. The “important role” of pessimist keeps them from manifesting their desires and askings, and their Source will never take a pessimistic view of anything…so they live out of alignment with their own inner being.

Notice today what your thoughts and words feel like. Are they optimistic or pessimistic? Do your thoughts and words lead you to feelings that feel better or feelings that worse?  Just notice. If you find that you inject part your day with pessimism, acknowledge that optimism is a choice, just as pessimism is also a choice. Each can be practiced just as easily as the other. In every moment you can choose to see the best, or the worst. You can reach for the best thought you can find, or you can reach for the worst thought you can find. It’s all up to you, and by paying attention you will be empowered to choose more consciously today. No One Needs To Agree With You…Except Source Energy!

There are many times when we feel “right” about an issue or topic, and we may feel a need to get others to agree with us about it. But haven’t you noticed that convincing another person to agree with you on something can, at times, be a difficult task. I have come to a point where I like to listen to others express their point of view, and I am honored when they are interested in hearing mine. I have come to accept that we are all different and that we will always have our own unique perception of the world, our place in it, and our goals as human beings. In fact, it is the variety and diversity that keeps the Universe expanding, and it’s what makes being here so exciting and worthwhile. Having agreement on a topic with others can feel really good too, especially when it births new ideas and creative angles to the issue at hand: thought is taken beyond that which it has been before…very cool.

But although it is wise to abandon worry about what others think about your ideas and opinions, it is in your very best interest to get Source Energy to agree with them. But Source is not a person, so how does that work, you ask?  Source Energy is a never-ending stream of pure positive energy that can’t be stopped…only resisted. The part of you that exists in pure positive energy is the larger part of who you are. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. So when I refer to Source, I am really referring to YOU as you exist right now in pure positive energy. This larger part of you is communicating with you constantly through your dreams, intuitions, and inspirations. So what you really need to do is get your larger, Source energy-focused part of you to agree with your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Or do you?

Is all YOU, so this seems weird…but instead of trying to get your Source self to agree with you, you are WAY better off getting yourself to agree with Source’s opinion of you. If you have read some of the other GP posts about contrast, and how contrast helps your greater self expand and grow, you know that your Source self has already literally become everything you have wanted to be up to this point. That’s right…everything you have imagined for yourself that you can say right now that you want and have asked for has already manifested for the part of you that is Source Energy. It is the literal expanded version of YOU. That being said, you are best off trying to be in vibrational harmony with your expanded self so that you can allow it all to manifest on planet Earth through the Law of Attraction. But how do you know what Source thinks about you? How can you align with the views and opinions of Source Energy? Here are some of the things we KNOW about Source Energy:

  • Source Energy loves you.
  • Source Energy knows you are precious.
  • Source Energy knows you are worthy.
  • Source Energy sees you as the perfect expression of “youness.”
  • Source Energy appreciates everything you are, everything you do, and everything you desire.
  • Source Energy knows that you are in the perfect place, at the perfect time.
  • Source Energy guides you to be the best you can be.
  • Source Energy sees the best in others.
  • Source Energy never puts you or anyone else down.
  • Source Energy feeds your intuition and inspiration and urges you toward what it has already become.
  • Source Energy doesn’t doubt you EVER, and uplifts your unique journey.

The list could go on for a very long time. If you don’t agree with Source, or if Source doesn’t agree with you…you will know right away because you will feel bad. But if, on the other hand, you and your Source are of one mind, you will feel joy, inspiration, love, gratitude, appreciation, and many other very connected feelings. When you live in the vibration of Source, you are, as Abraham-Hicks calls it…in the Vortex. The Vortex is the place where you and your Source are in vibrational alignment, and it is the place where all the magic of the Law of Attraction can manifest. Another way to say this is that when YOU and your larger YOU agree through your thoughts, feelings, and actions, you MUST become, right now, the best manifested version of YOU so far. (You know the YOU with great health, money, the relationship, the toys…or whatever you have allowed your Source to become through your vibrational asking.) No one may ever agree with you, but it is your number one job for YOU to agree with your Source! Let that be your goal today, to feel more and more agreement with your Source. Try This Fun And Easy Tool For Law Of Attraction Goal Setting!

Back in December I wrote a post called “Why Wait? Live It Now!” If you haven’t read this post, you can read it first by clicking HERE. You might remember that I referred to something called “an allowing manifesto” that my wife and I made when we were creating our new beach-front living space. Today I will explain just what this is, and how you can use this tool to help you allow and enjoy the life you want and deserve. We use the term “Manifesto” because we like the feeling of declaring our intentions clearly and publicly to give us even more focus and belief. Here is what the word means in the strictest sense:

We call our document “An Allowing Manifesto” because is doesn’t represent a list of things to accomplish, but rather a list of manifestations that we expect to welcome in to our experience. It’s not a “To Do” list at all, and knowing this will help you ask for what you really want. Remember that when you understand and work with the Law of Attraction, the rules of getting things done are slightly different than what you may have done in the past. With Law of Attraction you allow your wellbeing in, and you look for the things you are wanting to see. You do your best to appreciate the new condition is if it were already here in your present moment. You let the Universe work for YOU, managing all the minutia in magical ways that you could never stay on top of with just your personal human effort and attention.

This Allowing Manifesto is kind of like a Vision Board (for more on this you can search for Gratitude Planet posts about Vision Boards in the “search” function in the tool bar). Both are creations that you make using words and images. Both help create a feeling and vibration of the new condition. Both help you clarify your Universal asking by making you choose the details and feeling-tones of the desires. But an Allowing Manifesto is more about the words than the images, probably as much as a Vision Board is more about the images than it is about the words. Here is how you would go about making your own manifesto:

  1. Alone or with someone you are co-creating with (wife, husband, S.O., business partner, etc.) have a discussion about what you would like to create and allow in one year’s time. Don’t be limited by what you think you can do by your action alone. Be open to asking for anything that feels good, and for anything that you feel would increase your daily joy. You may find this list easy or difficult to create, but stay with it until you have a list of things that you are feeling good about. Only you know what this list should be, but for a jump start consider better health, more prosperity, more friends, better focus and clarity, a romantic relationship, a new job, a new car, growth in your business, a career change, or anything you can connect with emotionally.
  2. Get a piece of paper, or open up a word processing or drawing document, and put the following at the top: Next Logical Step: An Allowing Manifesto, January 24, 2010 We use the words coined from Abraham-Hicks “the next logical step” because we want this to feel easy, natural, and in perfect timing. In other words, the intention is for the new condition to seep into your awareness throughout the year so that it doesn’t feel like a wave crashing in, but rather like a slow fade to a new and more thrilling color wash on a theater stage.
  3. Next write or type: We (or I) set the intention to allow and manifest the following into our (my) experience by January 24, 2011:” You don’t have to use the one year time frame. We choose it because it feels right to us, but you can decide for yourself if six months, eighteen months, or two months feels best. We have done three Allowing Manifestos so far, and the first one was completely manifested in seven months, and the second one is almost complete in thirteen. The newest one is 24 days old and is already well on the way to manifesting. The vibration around the asking will guide you to set the proper time frame for you.
  4. Next, write the number 1 and make a heading of the first thing you will allow. In our ‘07 Manifesto, we set out to allow a new ocean-front living space. Because we live in Southern California, it didn’t feel right at the time to ask that we would actually own it, but we also didn’t want to limit ourselves by saying we would necessarily rent it either. So we just called it 1. An ability to afford an ocean-view living space, including:
  5. Once you have your first heading, make a list of specific things that you intend to manifest. If it is a new romantic relationship, describe what he/she might look like, the hobbies they might have, or the way they smile when they look at you. If it is a new car you are wanting, describe what color it will be, as well as the make and model if you know it already. Our detailed list looked like this:          

    A. at least 2-bed, 2-bath
    B. two secure parking spaces
    C. the real sound of the real ocean
    D. bright, sunny and open, yet private
    E. ocean breeze with large windows and doors facing the ocean
    F. easy commute to places of employment
    G. ample storage
    H. at least 1,000 square feet of living space with a kitchen that is a joy to prepare food in.
    I. easy access to the friendly walking-swimming beach
    J. nice place to sit outside, grill, and entertain
    K. walking distance to shops and restaurants and entertainment
    L. quiet street and friendly neighbors/neighborhood
    M. dog-friendly community
    N. perfect timing and ease finding and securing the living space
    O. pet-safe balcony that you can see through
    P. hardwood or tiled floors that are easy to keep clean
    Q. gas fireplace that works

  6. Next, write the number 2 and make a heading of the second thing you will allow. For us, we set an intention to create more income so that we could afford the increase in rent that allowing number 1 would entail. You can word it any way you want. We decided to use these words: 2. Additional income totaling $25,000 (gross) from sources TBA. It will feel like the following: Here’s a big tip with working with the Law of Attraction. We didn’t specify how the money would come, but instead how it would feel as the money came. Here is what we put under number two:                        

    A. easy to manage
    B. effortless and inspiring in the
    energy leading up to the
    manifestation
    C. activities that draw us forward
    D. a journey of joy
    E. activities that help people
    F. easy to attract people with connections and expertise who can help us, and be part of the unfolding

  7. Next find a few images that support the allowing vibration of the Allowing Manifesto. You may need to search a while to find these, or you may know immediately what you want the images to be. Paste these onto or into your document, and sit with it for a while. Does it feel good to look at? Are you ready to open your life to these new things? Are you thrilled by what you have asked for? Can you feel the excitement behind the fact that this is all coming to you right now? Love it, and feel the joy behind it.
  8. Next, put it in a place where you will see and read it on a regular basis. We use the fridge, or the bathroom mirror. I like having an electronic version on my computer so that I can print out copies of it in various sizes. I will put copies in the medicine cabinet, on the dashboard of my truck, on a cork board above my desk at work, and even as a screen saver on my laptop if I choose to use it there. The point is to revisit it and enjoy the fun of including these things into your thinking every day. If you live with these images and intentions in joy every day, when they begin to manifest in small ways you will smile and say “I saw that coming. Yippee! It’s all on the way!”
  9. Don’t be afraid to tell people who are close to you about the things you are creating in your life. We would say “We are excited that by next year we will be living on the ocean.” Friends would say, “Oh really…where?” We would counter “Oh, none of those details are known yet. But it’s all coming, and we are so excited about it. Law of Attraction of working on it as we speak.” If you don’t have friends who are ready to hear you talk about it like that, visualize yourself doing it to friends you will meet. It can be just as powerful to imagine it in terms of how Law of Attraction works.

That’s it! An Allowing Manifesto forces you to be specific, set a time frame, and spend time with your own joyful desires on a regular basis. Understanding And Using The Emotional Scale

If you have browsed our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, you know that the number one goal of Gratitude Planet is to help you feel better. When you feel good, the Law of Attraction lines you up with the very best of what you are asking for, bringing it to you in a natural, easy, and often thrilling way. But when you don’t feel good, the Law of Attraction is just as busy lining you up with less than pleasant experiences. When you feel bad or disconnected, it can be difficult to feel good. Our goal is to help you feel better as a result of visiting us, regardless of how you feel when you arrive. We say “feel better” for an important reason: everyone has a “vibrational range” that is changing all the time. You can only find thoughts that are in your vibrational range, and so it is important to be aware of how far-reaching your range is. To help you focus on how you feel, the use of the Emotional Scale (or Vibrational Scale) can be very helpful.

The Emotional Scale is a sliding scale of emotional/vibrational indicators, grouped in order from the worst feeling (bottom) to the best feeling emotions (at the top):

For the source material for this concept, refer to the book “The Vortex: Where The Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. The Emotional Scale is not set in stone in terms of the emotional descriptors, and how you feel personally is what really matters most. But the concept remains true that you only have access to emotions that are near what you are presently feeling. This explains why some people get really frustrated when they first learn about the Law of Attraction, especially when they “try to feel good” all the time. It’s not about feeling good, it’s about feeling better.

To illustrate how you might use the Emotional Scale, imaging that you can change the colors of the scale with a vertical slider. What you are presently feeling will be (for this discussion) yellow, while the emotion directly above will be green, and the emotional descriptor just below will be red. Suppose you were feeling discouraged. Your scale would look like this:

Doubt
Worry
Blame
Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Hatred/Rage

In this example, you have a vibrational range that dips as low as anger, and as high as blame. When you feel discouraged, the best thoughts you have access to feel something like blame (which I know doesn’t feel good…but it does feel better). You also can find thoughts that feel like anger. But worry and revenge are not in your range, and you will not be able to honestly talk to yourself in either of those emotions. But here is the key to using the scale: If you focus on thoughts that feel like blame, for as little as 17-40 seconds, your emotional midpoint will readjust on blame, and it will look like this:

Your deliberate focus has caused you to vibrate out of the range of anger, and into the emotional vicinity of worry. But worry doesn’t feel very good either, you say. Yes, that’s true, but it feels better than blame. So now turn your attention to thoughts that feel like worry. Yes, give yourself the permission to worry for a few minutes. In as little as 17 seconds, your range can shift yet again and center on worry, giving you access to doubt:

Discouragement
Anger

As you begin to use this tool to focus your attention on your emotional guidance system, you will be able to tell where you are at all times, and what the best feeling thought that you have access to is at all times. Before long you will have a midpoint that might look like this:

Passion
Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness

Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment

The worst-feeling thought in your vibrational range feels like optimism. Not too bad, eh? Once your range resides in this area for most of your day, the Law of Attraction can assemble people, places, and perfect timing for you all day. Source Energy begins to flow freely when you enter the range between hopefulness and optimism. The things you have been asking for vibrationally can come into full and magical manifestation in your life. You will radiate your connection to Source to everyone you interact with, and you will see the best in them as well.

The frustration I mentioned above is created when a well-meaning person tries in vain to find thoughts that are outside of their vibrational range. You simply can’t jump from discouragement to Positive Expectation/Belief in one step. So if you try to pretend you are feeling positive when you really only have access to blame and anger, you will probably end up in anger. Yes, you can move down the scale too, and just as easily. If you make anger your emotional set point (or midpoint) then you grant yourself access to, you guessed it, revenge. Life is a continuous cycle of movement up and down the emotional scale. Don’t try to jump around (because you can’t anyway) but just do your best to find the best feeling thought that you have vibrational access to. Soon you will master this technique, and you will feel good most of the time. And when you don’t, just reach and feel and reach and feel some more. Feel ALL your emotions, and don’t beat yourself up for feeling any of them. If you feel better through your focus, you are on the right track every time.

I actually created a real sliding emotional scale as a gift for the staff members of Gratitude Planet for them to use as they choose. As we go through our day we feel and adjust the slider. When it dips below a certain point we give some special focus to the green area, and less to the red area. I have found it to be an excellent way to help me feel good most of the time. You can see from the photo that I wanted a single word for each emotion, and that the words you choose don’t matter as much as the feeling behind each word. Learning When “No” Really Does Mean “Yes!”

It’s fun to be living on planet Earth, having a human experience and honing preferences for the experiences we want to attract and create. Every time you have an experience that makes you say “No, I don’t want to have that experience again” it is as if you reconfigure a “preferences file” with the Universe. Through this contrasting experience, the Universe hears your asking (vibrationally) and expands to match your asking, and then it becomes the new vibrational version of you…waiting for YOU to align with the expanded version of YOU. (If this sounds really confusing, read this post right now and see if it helps.) All day, every day we are sorting through our individual preferences for what we want, and when we say “no” we really, really mean “NO!” It’s OK to feel grateful and appreciative for our ability to say “no.” The word “no” puts the expansion of the Universe into motion.

But for the Universe, there is no such thing as the word “no.” When you say “no,” the Universe only hears “yes.” But how can this be? This is because we live in an inclusion-based Universe. The Law of Inclusion dictates that anything that you give your attention to becomes part of your vibration, and then the Law of Attraction gets to work to give you more of it. In other words, you can’t push anything away from you and your vibration…if it has your attention in any way, you are magnifying it and attracting more of it toward your personal experience. In an inclusion-based system, trying to stop anything (drugs, crime, disease, poverty, etc.) only serves to intensify the vibration, no matter how well-meaning you are. So how do we address these problems, you might say? If you focus directly on the problem, there will always be the problem, and bigger problems like it. (The Universe hears “This is a problem” and agrees with you, and sends you more of it because you gave it your attention.) Instead, focus on your mind’s highest image of a solution that does not include the problem. That last sentence is worth reading again. Remember that you can’t think about the problem without including, intensifying, expanding, and drawing more of the problem into your personal experience. So the key is to give your attention to thoughts and ideas of clarity, peace, wellness, and prosperity, rather than trying to rid the planet of drugs, crime, disease, and poverty.

But if no one works to rid the world of drugs, crime, disease, and poverty, won’t these things get out of control and multiply? Not in an inclusion-based Universe. The problems will dissipate and lose their energy as connected people all over the world act on their inner wisdom from connection to Source, and follow their intuition to promote clarity, peace, wellness, and prosperity. What are you for, and what are you against? Now that you are more aware that you are actually for the things you thought you were against, how might you refocus your attention today? Just notice today, through your experience, what you have been asking for by observing everything you are getting. You have been saying “yes” to all of it, even when you shouted “no” at it. Be easy about it, and when you must say “no” just get off the thought and turn to something you can say “yes” to as soon as possible. Be for things from now on, and let them flow to you effortlessly over time. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

You Are The Author of Your Life’s Story!

In his famous play “As You Like It,” William Shakespeare (1564–1616) wrote: “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.” Though the meaning of these words has been interpreted in various ways, the essence of the text suggests that we play many roles in our lives, from birth to death…starting out toothless and helpless, and returning there again before we die. But there is also an interpretation where we can envision the great playwright and poet commenting on the illusion of this reality, suggesting that it is no more “real” than a night at a theatrical performance as it unfolds in real time. It is especially interesting in light of what we know about the Law of Attraction and how this Universal Law affects our “reality.”

You are the leading character in the constantly unfolding story of your life. You are also the playwright. You decide on the scenery, and you determine the costuming as well. You have the ultimate say in the plot lines, the conflict resolution, and the “drama,” comedy, and “tragedy” in the production. And it’s not like you “get to” do all this. You are doing all this, even if you don’t realize you are. As vibrational human beings on planet Earth, we are all constantly sending out a signal to the Universe, and the Law of Attraction is matching it. Your signal is never turned off. It transmits constantly as you think, talk, observe, and imagine. In this morning’s analogy, then, you are writing your life’s story in every single moment you are breathing! So the real question is, what is YOUR story about, and what kind of production are you creating?

Some people love drama. The leading man (or lady) always has to struggle for everything. Against all odds, they strive to make everything better and live happily after. We all feel like this sometimes. Others love to create comedic roles for themselves. Each day has a multitude of events worth laughing about, and then they improvise more comedy in each moment. They smile, laugh, and don’t take themselves too seriously. You can probably think of times where you have been this character too. Every life will have some tragedy as part of the plot, because life always includes some contrasting events, which are events that help you clarify what you want by experiencing something that you don’t want. You are the master of your production, and you are constantly creating your role. Do you like the story so far?

If you like the plot of your story, keep directing it the way you have been. When your story is fun, interesting, and your leading actor is moving through the story with grace, bliss and ease, just sit back and enjoy the show. If not, ask yourself what your production needs to make it closer to your ideal story. Do you need more comedy? Does the leading lady need a leading man? Are you focused on tragedy? No matter what you decide, start telling the story you want to tell. Take charge as the creator of your life’s story. When you think, talk, visualize, and observe, let it be about the story you want to live and not about the story you are living. As soon as you start telling a new story, the Law of Attraction will start assembling all the supporting roles and circumstances to reinforce the new story. Before you know it, your story will have a brand new chapter, and your life’s stage will be transformed! Notice today, through your thoughts, feelings and actions, what kind of story you are creating. Let the words that flow off your tongue reflect what you want your story to be. If you must speak lines that move your plot away from what you really want, shorten the scene and move on to the next act. You get to decide. Be grateful and appreciative that you are the star of your very own movie…a movie that YOU are also producing and directing for all to see. Expand To Give (and Receive) Freely

You surely remember the old saying “It is better to give than it is to receive.” I heard that phrase very early in my life, and I have always been interested in giving to others when I can. I think we all occasionally struggle with how much giving and receiving we should do, and at times I have been better at one or the other while trying to balance both. Back in October there was a GP post about giving and receiving, and I want to expand on that post a bit today. Another GP post in October by Hannya also related a great giving-receiving story. You may want to read (or re-read) these before digesting today’s topic if you have the time.

When you give freely, and when you feel good about your giving, you set up an expectation within your vibration that Law of Attraction matches: you feel worthy and ready to receive. When you understand this give-and-take of energy and see it play out a few times, it can be tempting to work to give a lot so that you can be worthy to receive a lot. The problem with this approach is twofold. First, you are already worthy to receive, and your worthiness is never in question. You can feel more worthy or less worthy, but you ARE worthy. Secondly, receiving (or allowing) Source Energy and wellbeing is natural and not dependent, necessarily, on how much you give. You don’t give to earn your right to receive, and no one keeps score in some far-away vibrational database. The energies of giving and receiving are intertwined, but not in a “weight and balances” type of equation. But there does seem to be, in my experience, a direct benefit to giving and receiving freely as the opportunities arise. The key is not to give to make something happen, but rather to give because it feels good to give. Law of Attraction works its best magic when you feel good…so timing your giving can be important. Feel good first, and then feel better through your giving.

When I take my morning walks along the beach, I usually visit a coffee shop about three miles into the walk. It’s a Starbucks in a grocery store, and sometimes there are some very needy people near the store. Occasionally they will ask for change, but other times they just keep to themselves. This situation represents a great opportunity to see how I feel in the moment about giving. If I feel resistance to giving money, I don’t. If I feel open and connected, I do. On several occasions I started my walk and decided that I would buy some food at the grocery and give it away to the first hungry person I encountered. On each occasion, I couldn’t find anyone to give it too, and one of those times, I swear, the guy vanished. I realized that I was trying to do something that was not a natural unfolding, and I felt worse walking home with the food in my arms. Now I wait to see what opportunities the day brings to give and receive, and I move ahead when I am inspired, knowing that I will be in the right place at the right time always.

Finally, giving is not just about money and food. Giving freely can include giving compliments, smiling, holding a door open for someone, noticing a kind gesture, leaving an uplifting note, singing a song, answering an email, and a million other possibilities. Receiving freely might include being grateful and appreciative for compliments, smiles, doors held open for you, kind gestures, uplifting notes, songs you hear, emails you receive, and a million other possibilities. Giving and receiving are ways you live, not things you do. Expand your vibration to give and receive freely and often today, and enjoy how great you will feel all day. Take Your First Step Toward Tomorrow…Today!

The Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu (604 BC – 531 BC) is credited with saying: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This is a great quote for helping you to allow everything you want through the Law of Attraction. I know that I am ready to ramp up my allowing in the new year, and today I took a nice long gratitude walk with my two dogs along the beach and through the marina. It was fun and relaxing, and I had a good chance to think about the new year, what I want, and how I am going to get there. The problem with defining what you want, at least for me, is that I tend to shoot for the stars and ask for things that are a stretch from my present vantage point of reality. It feels so good to visualize it, and to imagine having it now. However, when the visualization is done it is so easy to doubt the asking and fall into a “ya, right, like that’s really going to happen” pit.

When I felt this less-allowing vibration begin to soil the fun of my new year’s visualizations, I suddenly became inspired by Lao tzu’s quotation. It isn’t my job to manifest everything today. In fact, trying to manifest it immediately will only make me more aware of the absence of what I am creating. Instead, I affirmed that my gratitude walk was all I needed to do today. My job was to define, enjoy, visualize, savor, and be. My steps today are lining me up with everything I am asking for. I am right where I am supposed to be right now. I am well on the way on my thousand-mile journey, and all is well. Loving the journey will make it more fun, and before I know it, I’ll be there…ready for another thousand-mile journey…and then another one…and then another. There is no there to get to. I am just totally grateful and appreciative to be taking steps forward in joy and love. Enjoy this most amazing day!  Chris-GP

Five Wellness Resolutions for 2010

You probably have been thinking about how 2010 will be better than 2009, and in the process you have likely been making a few resolutions lately. Here are our top five wellness statements to start off the new year!

1. I will pay even better attention to how I feel.

2. I will make the best of every situation I encounter.

3. I will enjoy each day even more by living fully in each moment.

4. I will create more wellbeing by giving my full attention to people and things that I appreciate and am grateful for.

5. I will relax and remember that all is so very well, and that I am perfectly equipped to expand my joy and allowing in every moment of every day.

I encourage you to just jot down the first five things that come to your mind concerning your new focus for 2010. See if your list resembles this one, or of you come up with things that match your specific intentions more closely than this list. Forget “Keeping Up With The Joneses”…Keep Up With Yourself!

Sometimes we look around at other people and we get the feeling that we should be experiencing our world in the same way that they are. This is the classic “keeping up with the Joneses” syndrome where you never feel like your life is as good as someone else’s life. Because Law of Attraction gives you more of what ever you focus upon, is it not to your advantage to look at anyone this way, because you can’t help but feel bad comparing the two experiences. A lot of stress and disconnection is created by people who strive to keep up with everyone else. The truth is, you can’t keep up with anyone else when it comes to creating your own reality and attracting joy into your life. What you think you see others experiencing in their own lives is simply a manifestation of what they have attracted and allowed. YOU are doing the same, and you are receiving based on your personal vibrational alignment with who you have become. When you strive to be in alignment with a vibration you have not expanded into, only frustration and disconnection can be your experience.

Not keeping up with others is a good idea. Not keeping up with yourself is a bad idea. Every time you experience contrast in your life, you know what you don’t want, and you define more clearly what you DO want. When you define what you DO want, your vibrational self takes on an expansion that equals the degree of the asking. In other words, if you get really, really sick, vibrationally you become very, very healthy. At this point you are not going to feel good at all, because there are literally TWO yous: the sick one and the healthy one. These two vibrations do not match, and your emotional guidance system will tell you that there is discord in your vibration with yourself. You will feel like crap. The only real choice you have, if you want to be a joyful and expanding human on planet Earth, is to keep up with yourself, and give your full attention to becoming a vibrational match to your healthy self. You can’t undo what you have become, by the way. You either align with it, or you feel bad. Simple. Change (for the better) or suffer where you are until you are so unhappy that you are pushed to change somehow. Why not save yourself the struggle and give your full attention to matching your own vibrational expansion?

So in summary, you can never align with someone else’s vibrational expansion, because it isn’t yours. Don’t bother keeping up with what others have created. Instead, pay close attention to who you have become, and stand ready to be like the latest and greatest version of YOU! Just by living and experiencing life you have helped create the very best edition of who you can possibly be right now. Relax, make peace with where you are, and notice how you feel. If you feel good (or better) you are aligning vibrationally with the new you. Just keep up with you. May you fully enjoy this most amazing day!  Chris-GP

Practice Your Allowing Through Stretching!

Happy New Year Everyone! I was doing my yoga routine this morning and came to a new understanding of how allowing works. Remember that the Law of Attraction (LOA) works in a three step process: You Ask (automatic), Source Answers (not your work), and You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!). I talked about this in a recent post. You can read that post by clicking HERE if you like. I added a step to the three-step process ’cause I think people need to relax more and let themselves feel good while doing this. These were my “new” steps to make Law of Attraction work for you:

1A. You Ask (automatic through living on planet Earth)

1B. Make Peace With Where You Are, Who You Are, And What You Have. (your business)

2. Source Answers (not your work)

3. You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!)

Yet today, I had a new insight. You can do this even sitting at your computer. I was doing yoga, and I went into a pose and was holding it. Sometimes I go really deep into the pose, and sometimes I go in just enough to notice a little resistance in my muscles. When I go really deep, it can really hurt. If I go in just a bit, it is more of a dull sensation, and not really painful. Now, I decided today to just go into a stretch only enough that I noticed a little amount of resistance or sensation. As I noticed the resistance (step ONE A), I stayed there and changed my focus to my breathing and away from the resistance (step ONE B) and then affirmed that Source Energy had created a new me that had no pain in this stretch (step TWO), and then I noticed the resistance disappear! (step THREE). So in little more than 20 seconds I went from feeling resistance, relaxing and making peace with me, and allowing the new me without the resistance. Yoga actually means “union” and is a practice for going in and understanding yourself and the Universe better.  It is supposed to be a path to wellbeing and expansion. Now I get it! And it’s not about stretching farther than I can. It’s about going to my edge and expanding with joy where I am. WOW!

If you have things in your life that you can’t figure out how to allow, why not practice allowing smaller things, and then work on up to the bigger things? This stretching/yoga (I’ll call it a meditation) technique gives you almost instant gratification, and works on exactly the same laws that create and allow more friends, cars, relationships, prosperity, ocean-front homes, and the like. Your Expanding Connection Solves Your Problems!

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963), 35th President of the United States was quoted as saying that “A rising tide lifts all boats.” The proverb he quoted is an excellent one to draw an analogy to Source Energy, your challenges, and the Law of Attraction. When you study the LofA you hear a lot of phrases over and over again. Much of what you hear us discuss, and most of everything you will read at many other LofA websites draws primary information from the ongoing work of Jerry and Ester Hicks, and the Teachings of Abraham. If you haven’t studied their work, it is a must read. In fact The Secret, which is a main-stream movie about the Law of Attraction, is based on their work, even though they decided not to be associated with the movie in the end. You will hear from both these sources that how you feel is everything, and that if you feel good you are moving closer to what you want, and if you feel bad you are moving away from what you want. That is the basis of my discussion today.

Even after I “got it” that I should pay attention to how I feel, I always found a reason to only do it a little. After all, when you have a life to live, a job to do, and a house to run, who has time to just stop and pay attention to how you feel? I mean really?? I felt deeply that someday I would solve my immediate issues and then relax and enjoy my life more…only after I fixed everything around me. At some point I realized that I might need to wait until retirement before I had no excuses, and that day was not coming very soon. So the quandary was: how do I solve my problems all at once so that I can pay more attention to how I feel, and then harness the Law of Attraction to my greatest benefit? The question becomes the answer, and you begin and end in the same place. Here’s how…

“A rising tide lifts all boats.” The tide doesn’t go around lifting each one, as if worrying about missing one. The tide is powerful, and has an immediate effect on all boats. So it is with the Law of Attraction. When you take time to listen to your inner guidance, and really pay attention to your Emotional Guidance System (using the Vibrational Scale as a reference), your connection to Source Energy raises and expands. You need to attend to this connection first, and then see the magic that happens next. The “problems” you had on your mind will either seem smaller, or you will have new insights as to how to solve them. You will receive the gift of inspired action which will help you move through the day in efficient strides that move you ahead. All the “rocks” in your “ocean” will submerge and you will be able to navigate swiftly over them. The rising tide of your connection to Source Energy will lift you up and show you the way. Law of Attraction will put the muscle behind the magic, aligning you with even more of what you want, once you are sailing above the rocks. Don’t try to solve all your problems before you connect to Source. Connect first, through meditation or yoga, or just by being still for ten minutes when you need to. Let the Universe help you solve everything. Your first responsibility is to let the tide come in. Be Well, Marie-GP

Rebirth Your Connection To Source!

This holiday season will provide many opportunities for so many things. Many will gather with friends and family to toast to the New Year, and gift giving and cheer have been the order of the day recently. No matter what religious faith you may or may not align with, it has been a good time to change your normal pace and refocus your thinking. Sitting in church on Christmas eve, I was thinking about the many meanings of the Christmas season. There is a sacred Christmas, referring to the “Christ Mass” and birth of Jesus, and the secular Christmas with Santa, JC Penny, and Toys R Us. And for sure, Christmas can be sacred or secular, or a combination of both, or just a time to have fun in the winter months with friends and family…it is whatever you want it to be. At the very least I would hope that the stress of preparing for Christmas has given way to the joy of the holiday season, and that you can take a deep breath and reflect on all things you are grateful for. That is one of my goals for this most amazing day.

For years I wondered about how much Christmas was supposed to be secular or sacred for me. If it was just about buying presents and attending parties, then it was no different than other holidays like Thanksgiving or Labor day. It was just time off with friends. And if it was supposed to be completely sacred, then I felt pressure to focus all my attention on a 2,000-year-old event with little relevance for my present condition. Neither one seemed to work 100% for me. But once I discovered and understood the Law of Attraction, I was able to reconcile these questions in my own mind.

Christmas is secular, and can be enjoyed for the opportunities it brings to connect with others, be grateful and appreciative, and to give freely with a feeling of abundance. It is about giving, but it is also about receiving. If you give freely, Law of Attraction lines you up to receive freely, and your abundance flows. If the secular Christmas is only about opening yourself to give and receive freely, it is important and unique enough a holiday to appreciate with great enthusiasm. But what about the sacred side of Christmas? Jesus was born over 2,000 years ago, and taught in parables that were meant for the mind-set of people of the day. They were heard and remembered by people who lived at the time, written down by others, and translated many, many times throughout the ages. What message in the Christmas story can I celebrate and understand, and also make relevant to my present experience?

Jesus was an amazing man who had so much to teach us. His birth represents a new beginning in the thinking of humankind. He did incredible things, and said that we can do these same things, and even greater things. He came to teach us of our connection to God (which I refer to as Source Energy). He came to “save” us from limited thinking, and to encourage us to love one and other as ourselves. The birth of Christ can inspire us to rebirth our own sacred connection to Source Energy, and to remember that we have a personal, unwavering connection to all that is good. Taking conscious notice of this connection is the sacred message of Christmas for me, and I rejoice in this fact! I am constantly being created anew, and I take this season to align with my connection in a stronger and more good-feeling way. I allow the birth of Christ to be my own rebirth, and I am open to allowing these gifts into my life today. I will leave you today with words from a Christmas card that my wife and I keep as a reference to the true meaning of Christmas. May you enjoy this most amazing day of rebirth. Chris-GP

I’ll Begin Again…and Again!

I sometimes find myself disappointed about something I have done, or that has happened to me…and I can’t seem to get it out of my head. I will replay it and I will think about it, and I will sink into feelings that feel worse and worse. We all get this way at times, and when we do we need a little something to reverse the downward spiral. I like to use this technique called “I’ll begin again” because it is about letting go of the past and launching fresh into the NOW. We are eternal beings, and the essence of eternity is that it is never ending. If our existence is never ending, then we will never be complete, nor can we ever be forever “wrong.” There is no place or time when you will be able to say “finally, I am done…I am perfect and complete.” You will always be launching new desires that are incomplete, and you will always be reaching for more and more expression, expansion, and joy.

So when something doesn’t go your way, don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you have messed up forever. Instead just announce to yourself, or anyone who will listen, “I’ll just begin again.” Remind yourself that the past is already gone, and that you are on a never ending journey. Just begin again. And again. And again. Remind yourself that where you have been has no bearing on where you are and where you are going. Begin again. See yourself charting a new path toward everything you want to attract through Law of Attraction. Begin again. Breathe. Begin again. Love. Begin again. All is well. Enjoy this most amazing day! Why Wait? Live It NOW!

There are a lot of people discovering the Law of Attraction for the first time, and I think it’s one of the most exciting times to be alive here on planet Earth. People are learning (or remembering) that the sum essence of their thoughts, actions, and feelings is what creates their reality. We are all coming to understand that we are eternal creators, and that we are here for joy, growth, and expansion. People are experiencing how a thought, practiced over time, attracts other thoughts and experiences to match it. More and more people every day are coming to trust Source Energy as a never-ending, consistent supply of love, inspiration, wellbeing, and connection. New websites about how to align with the Law of Attraction are popping up every day, and there are a lot of curious souls who want to learn to live a more purposeful life of joy. You are one of them, because you found your way to this moment in time, at this website, reading these words. Welcome.

The Law of Attraction is not difficult to understand or harness, but there is so much information out there that is geared for different kinds of people. It appears to be much more complicated than it really is. Today I will give you an easy way to summarize the Law of Attraction, and then I will give one example of how I have used it effectively to create something I wanted.

Law of Attraction is a universal law that deals with energy and vibration. Like attracts like. You are like a radio station that is constantly sending out a signal, and the Universe is broadcasting right back at you with the same signal! What ever you broadcast vibrationally as you live your day is matched, enhanced, and expanded by Law of Attraction. If you want change, you have to change your vibrational broadcast signal first, and then the Universe will change to match it. Waiting for the Universe to change YOU is a recipe for disconnection and frustration. I hope you are grasping the amazing truth in this: You have at your fingertips, right now, the ability to harness the energy that creates worlds…and it is constantly working to match and attract to you anything you broadcast. WOW!

A few years ago my wife and I moved to Southern California from the Midwest. We decided to live near the beach, and we found a great apartment just three blocks from the ocean. In only a few weeks we decided that we wanted to be not just close to the ocean, but we wanted to live right on the ocean! It would have been easy to find a million reasons why this would be impossible, but we understand the Law of Attraction, and we set out a course to allow this desire into our lives. The key is to get aligned with your desire, and to live it right now. Yes, you have to live it right now! But, you say, you didn’t live on the ocean. You only lived near the ocean. You were fooling yourself. And I say, sure, we were fooling ourselves…right into a place of feeling good about our desire, and right into broadcasting a signal that the Universe could match. We talked about how great it was to live on the water, and we bought books and magazines that had pictures of the ocean, I set up an electronic picture frame with hundreds of ocean-front images that I found on line, and we even slept every night, all night, to the sound of ocean waves on the iHome iPod dock next to the bed. We made vision boards with pictures of the beach. We also created “an allowing manifesto” for this manifestation of ocean-front living. (More about that in a later post). I found myself spending many hours of inspired time looking at real estate listings, all the while enjoying the feeling of living on the water. Yes, we “fooled” ourselves into broadcasting this signal to the Universe: “we live on the beach, we have the resources to purchase a home, and we love living here.” By not contradicting our own vibrational desire, Law of Attraction had no problem attracting to me a real estate listing that caught my eye. I immediately called the agent and set up a showing. It matched our list of criteria, and we were soon living there. But in our minds, we were already living there. Moving in was the last step, not the first step!

You can do this too. Look at the things you have been asking for. Have you been sending a signal that you already have it? Can you enjoy the feeling of living it right now? If you can do this and love having it now, you will be in the right place at the right time to have it flood to you through inspired action. I would love to hear your stories about your successes. When Life Causes You To Want Something, Be Grateful!

There was a time when I thought I would be happy if all my problems would just go away forever. Everything seemed to be a bother, and I felt like life was a constant struggle. I thought that I had to find a way to solve all my problems once and for all, and I looked everywhere for a solution. I meditated, did yoga, kept fit, read books, and got a hold of every self-help book or video I saw. Yet, to my dismay, my problems didn’t disappear completely. No matter what I did or achieved, I still had unfulfilled desires that I labeled as problems, or as “contrast.”  The striving for a life of no contrast was a pain. The harder I tried to have no contrast, the more I seemed to have. Sometimes I felt defeated and that I was a loser if I had problems to face in my life. Thankfully I came to new understandings about the Law of Attraction, and over time I gained a new perspective on the “problems” in my life and the positive function they serve.

As I understand it, we are created in the image of Source Energy. We are vibrational beings who are extensions of the Source from which we came. When we think, we send out energy to the Universe. Before we are born into a physical body, we are one with our Source, and there is no contrast…yes, NO CONTRAST! (This is what I was trying to achieve in this lifetime!) But as an extension of Source, living in a physical body on planet Earth, I am supposed to encounter things that I want…and that I don’t yet have. When I have “problems” or unfulfilled desires in my life, the Source that I came from GROWS in proportion to my asking. If I am sick, I have a problem; but through experiencing this sickness, I ask strongly for health, and vibrationally I send a signal back to myself as Source Energy. The part of me that is still Source responds immediately to my expanded idea of health, and literally becomes a new version of me with the new condition of expanded health. But, you might ask, how do I benefit from this if I am still sick?

When life causes you to ask for something better, or for a solution to a problem in your life, the greater part of you grows, becomes the expanded version, and begins calling you toward the new manifestation into physical reality. (You may want to read that last sentence again). You ask, Source answers by expanding fully into the new thing, and all you have to do is allow yourself to receive the new condition. Law of Attraction is the manager of all of this, so it is important to focus on the new desire rather than the lack of the new desire. (More on this later). The point of this post is that you will never be problem or contrast free in this lifetime. Instead of wasting time, as I did, trying to solve all your problems, be grateful for the contrast you experience. Give yourself credit for the expansion you have sent to your Source, and then get into a place to let it manifest into your experience on Earth. If you are not asking, you are not growing. Be grateful and appreciative for the contrast in your life. It gives you the push forward into new and amazing things. Let me know if this post makes any sense to you. Creating and Using Vision Boards (part 3)

In part 1 of “Creating and Using Vision Boards” I discussed what a Vision Board is, and how it worked for me when I wanted to expand my career. In the second part, I showed you how to make a Vision Board, and how you might use it on a daily basis. If you are visiting Gratitude Planet for the first time and haven’t read Part 1 &2 yet, you may want to scroll down and read it before you read Part 3.

Once you have created your Vision Board, you will want to refer to it daily and feel how good it feels while you look at it. I don’t recommend that you look at it when you are busy, stressed, or otherwise distracted from feeling good. As I said in part 2, I look at my Vision Boards either before bed, or sometimes in the morning (taped to the bathroom mirror). My resistance is low, and I need something to focus on anyway as I brush teeth or shave. Here are a couple hints to making the most of this exercise, and harnessing the full power of the Law of Attraction:

1. Pretend what you want has already arrived into your experience. The Vision part of the VB is the gift of seeing the thing as if it has already materialized into your experience. The images you have chosen should feel like a done deal in terms of the manifestation. If you picked images and words that depict the manifestation fully, you should be able to relax and enjoy the feeling of having it. It is the feeling of having it that makes the Law of Attraction able to deliver it to you.

2. Have fun. There is no reason to work at this. If you approach the VB as a job to be completed each day, you may intensify the feeling of needing to work to make it happen. This vibration reinforces a feeling that you DON’T't have it. If you already have it (as this game requires) then there is no need to work or struggle while you look at the VB. It is done, and you should feel the fun of having the thing on your VB.

3. Talk to yourself as if you already have it. Let yourself know (often) how exciting it was to have the things on your VB. Breathe deeply. Love your ever-expanding life and the magic of creating and receiving your expansion. There is no need to contradict your thinking with a “real, here and now” feeling. Let your inner speak reflect the vision on the VB.

4. If you dare, talk to others about how your VB is manifesting (or has manifested). If you have friends that understand and accept Law of Attraction, play the game in real time with them and talk about how grateful and appreciative you are for the manifestations on your VB. Play it up. Let it feel good. Let them add to the power of the allowing.

5. Be patient. Don’t take score right away, but rather look for the smallest clues of the new condition. What ever you have created will start showing it self in small ways first. If you can really get and practice the feeling of the new thing, you will recognize it as it actually appears in the physical world. Just say, yah, that’s my VB in action. It’s here. Yippee.
