Law of Attraction: What You Get Is What You Align With!

The Law of Attraction makes so much sense when you look at it broadly from the circumstances it creates in people’s lives. Your life, right now, is a reflection of the things you have been giving your focus to for a while. All the things…wanted and unwanted…that you have been experiencing have been invited into your reality by YOU! You may say, “but I didn’t ask for my present condition,” especially if you don’t like the way things are going for you right now. But while you didn’t speak words asking for your condition, you did ask for it through your vibration, which Law of Attraction matched and magnified. The average vibration of your thoughts, feelings, and actions always equals your point if attraction, and your point of attraction is what is matched, expanded, and made “real” for you. So if you want to know how your average vibration has been lately, just look at the outward manifestation you have right now. How are you doing, in your opinion?

Sometimes, though, I can’t see the relationship between my thoughts, feelings, and actions and the results I am experiencing. Occasionally I can’t make the connection. When this happens, don’t worry or doubt yourself. It’s still a match, even if you didn’t know you were attracting it. For example, if you had something taken from you by a thief, you may wonder how such an incident is a match when you didn’t think about being robbed. But remember that Law of Attraction reads and matches your vibration. You were probably giving your attention and focus, and therefore your alignment, to things that made you feel vulnerable or unworthy. These things could be stories that friends told you, or stories in the news, or movies on TV, or anything that whipped up disconnection in subtle or not-so-subtle ways.

There is no Law of Assertion. Nothing can be in your experience that you don’t invite in through your attention and focus. Just remember that you will align with the things you choose to focus on, whether you want them in your experience or not. If you love scary novels, be prepared to invite some drama into your real life now and again. If you let people complain to you over and over again, be ready to experience some of their problems in your life at some point. If you move down the emotional scale as a daily habit because of the thoughts you choose to think, expect to see some weird stuff that you would prefer not to experience popping up now and again. Instead, choose the things you give your attention to the same way you choose the clothes you wear, or the food you eat. Do it by choice, based on the pleasure you get from it.

Law of Attraction is all about alignment. What you align with is what you will get more and more of, and you have the ultimate control to choose your thoughts and focus. If things are going well, stay the course. If you are ready for a change, get more particular with how you spend your time and energy and focus. In a very short tome you will see how consistent Law of Attraction really is, and how you can really be, do, or have anything you want. Enjoy this most amazing day!  Chris-GP

No News Is Good News!

I have just about had it with the news! It seems that no matter where I turn to for “news” I get reports of contrast and disconnection. Of course, I like reading the Gratitude PlanetGood News” section when I can, but the world seems to throw bad news at me all day every day. There are two things that keep me listening and reading the news: 1. I am a curious person, so I like to learn new things, and 2. and I feel like I need to know what is going on in the world so that when I talk to people, I don’t seem out of touch. So why do I feel worse when I read the news or listen to a news broadcast? I hate that.

Here’s what I have found. If there is something so important that I need to know about it today, I’ll find out about it one way of the other. Someone will tell me, or I’ll run across it. I don’t need to dig up news stories to find out major events. I don’t need to know that 50 people died in a plane crash in a far-off country. That kind of news just bums me out. Instead, I want to hear about what is going well today, and the news is less likely to have that kind of story…instead, I look inward for my good news.

Inside my mind I have all the good news I need. I can imagine things going well in all areas of my life, and I can find reasons to love, laugh, and smile more just from my own thinking. I can become a beacon of wellbeing that summons that power of the Law of Attraction, multiplying my ability to feel good and manifest prosperity in my life. I can take any story and make the best of it, and I can take control of how I feel more and more. The better I get at this, the more I can make my own news…news that feels good to me.

Try this experiment. Don’t listen to the news for one full week. You might also consider turning off your TV too. Let the flow of information to your mind and awareness be only data that helps you feel better. Just notice how your life shifts as your vibration shifts. What you give your attention to is enhanced by Law of Attraction, so shifting your awareness to things that feel good should expand your good-feeling moments. Then when you feel better more of the time, the things you have been wanting will manifest into your “real” life. If you have been wanting a new job, a car, a relationship, or a feeling of prosperity, it will start to come to you in magical ways. All you have to do is start feeling better and better. For me this means that I don’t watch the news. No news is good news for me. Try it and see if this works for you too. Be.Love. Hannya-GP

Meditation: The Key To Allowing And Feeling Better!

If you are like me, there are times when you can’t seem to slow your life down long enough to stay centered for very long. I am doing this or that, running here or there, and taking care of things that need doing. But when I feel like I need to find my center, allow more wellbeing, and connect to Source Energy, there is no quicker and better way than to meditate for 5–10 minutes. Some people think that meditating means burning incense, chanting “Ohm,” and pondering your belly button for hours at a time; but I am talking about a much simpler process that I will outline here. Meditation really can be as simple as sitting quietly, walking deliberately, or breathing rhythmically. If you are new to meditation, try these steps and ass if you feel better in the process:

  1. Sit quietly in a chair or on the floor, and make yourself comfortable in an upright position. If you need to wear comfortable clothes, change into these clothes first. Have an alarm that you can program for 5, 10, or 15 minutes. I like my iPhone for this.
  2. Close your eyes and just start to notice everything around you. What do you hear? What do you smell? Take in information from your senses, but don’t judge any of it. Simple notice things.
  3. Once you are in the moment and noticing things, pick one thing to focus upon. It can be your breathing as you notice it going in and out. It can be a sound in the room, such as a fountain, or wind chime. It can be anything you choose.
  4. Once you start focusing on the sound of your choice, just allow yourself to exist in the moment with the sound. If your mind wanders…and it will…just bring your attention back to the focus of the sound, or your breath. There is nothing else to do. Just go with it.
  5. Stick with the meditation for 5–10 minutes and notice how you feel. You will probably get a flash of intuition, insight, or inspiration at some point. You may get the solution to a problem you have been worried about. You may even feel a renewed sense of purpose for the entire day.
  6. When the alarm goes off, open your eyes and take a few more breaths in and out. Be grateful for the time you spent opening your mind and senses. Feel your wellbeing increase. Notice that you probably feel a little better than when you started.

Meditation is a process that can be tailored to the individual, and there is no right and wrong way to do it. You can think a short mantra (several words that you repeat over and over again), or you can use affirming sentences. Everybody has their favorite methods. No matter how you do it, enjoy the process of convening with yourself with the intention of feeling better. If you do it every day, you will really notice a difference as soon as the first day you do it…and the more you do it the easier it gets. “Thank You” Law Of Attraction!

Coming back from vacation last week, I had numerous opportunities to practice allowing, Law of Attraction, and the importance of the vibrational/emotional scale. This story begins in the Denver airport where I was scheduled to connect from Kansas City, MO to Long Beach, CA. I got to the gate and heard an announcement for an over-sold flight; they were giving $400 toward future travel that was fully transferable and good for one year. I had nothing in particular to do when I arrived home that evening, so I decided to accept the offer and give up my seat on the 1:00 p.m. flight. They re-booked me on the 9:00 p.m. flight, and I was off to have lunch, relax, and enjoy my $400 in travel vouchers in my mind. Perfect timing, I thought.

When the time came to board the 9 p.m. flight, there was a delay…and another delay. People around me began to grumble, but I just made the best of it and listened to some music on my iPod. Finally, they announced that the flight had been canceled and that they would re-book everyone on a flight in the morning. Most people were visibly angry, and a few people lost their temper with the gate agent. I took this as an opportunity to practice feeling better, as I could also feel the initial pain of the disappointment. I stayed quiet, sat to the side, and thought about all the things that were going right in that moment: I had a flight in the morning, nothing to be late for, a hotel that they promised to give me, meal vouchers to use, and a chance to make the best of it. I reached for the best thoughts I could find. In a little time I felt optimistic about how this would all pan out.

The line for re-booking was not moving very fast, but I relaxed and practiced more gratitude in my thinking. Soon, an agent announced that the Service Desk at gate 84 was open to help us. About half of the passengers made a bee-line for gate 84, and I decided to go with them. On the way, I talked with a nice woman who was not feeling great. I said, “this is a great opportunity to get a first-class seat!” She looked puzzled. I said, “the agents will have angry people in their face all night, and I intend to appreciate them, smile, and let them know that I am open to whatever they can do to help me.” Of course, you have to be high on the vibrational scale to pull this off, and I could tell that I was at least optimistic, and moving up to expectation fast. Now it felt like a fun and frisky adventure.

At gate 84 the line was very long, and the grumbling from people continued. In about 15 minutes another desk opened about 80 feet away. They called out to the line, but somehow, I appeared to be the only person to hear the announcement. I turned and walked to the desk and then realized that I was the first person in a line of one. “Thank you Law of Attraction” I thought. I smiled and explained how I gave up my seat for this canceled flight, and the agent said “I remember you from this morning.” She smiled. “Thank you Law of Attraction” I thought. I said how much I appreciated her, and that I knew how hard it was to re-book so many people. She told me that the first confirmed seat would be on the 6 p.m. flight the next day, but that she could put me in first class. I smiled and said “that would be just great.” Then I asked, “is there another earlier flight?” She typed and said that I could standby on the 12:00 noon flight. Then she said, I can put you at the top of the standby list if you want. I said “That would be great…thanks.” “Thank you Law of Attraction” I thought. She then said that she could put me in the Renaissance Hotel, a very nice hotel. I said “That would be great…thanks.” “Thank you Law of Attraction” I thought.

The next day I found my way to the gate 89 at 11:00 a.m. to see if I could get on the flight. On the way I was practicing feeling good while hoping to see a Starbucks and get a cup of coffee. I didn’t see one on my way, but when I got to the gate, I DID see one. “Thank you Law of Attraction” I thought. Well…I almost got on the flight, but the last two passengers made it there at the very last second. “That’s fine,” I thought. I’ll make the best of this day. I got more work done and enjoyed the afternoon. When I finally got into my first-class seat, I was feeling good, probably around the happiness/passion level on the emotional scale. The outcome was a fabulous flight with food, drink, and lots of smiles and laughs with the flight attendants and other passengers. I just love first class. “Thank you Law of Attraction” I thought.

This story represents one plot line that could have turned out very differently. From the moment I felt the disappointment of the canceled flight, I could have spiraled downward on the vibrational scale. I could have had 21 hours of disconnection and hell…but I didn’t. Instead, I had a great time enjoying a bunch of free stuff with fun and happy people. Everybody has this ability to choose the thoughts they entertain. YOU have the ability to enjoy “reality” or hate it. The next time you have an opportunity like I had, make the best of it, reach for the best thoughts you have access to, and look for the magic of the Law of Attraction. Life is supposed to be fun. A Message From Source Energy!

Hello My Beloved! I am writing to you today to help you remember just how much you are loved, and how much you mean to me. I know there are times that you wonder if I am paying attention to you. But rest assured that I am always with you, and I am always available to you. I flow through you in every second of every moment of every day, and while you can resist my flow, you can never cut it off completely. As soon as you relax and stop the struggle, I rush in with the full love and connection of Source to fill you, recharge you, and to assure you that all is well. I am the energy behind the Vortex, and when you are connected to me, you are plugged in to the energy that manages the Law of Attraction.

You did not come here to achieve anything in particular, or to work hard and struggle in pain until your physical death…rather you came here to to explore the diversity of expression on the Earth, to create new ideas and desires, and to experience the JOY of expansion that is uniquely available to you. When you connect to ME, you will think like ME, and you will feel about YOURSELF the way that I feel about you. Here’s a little bit of what I think about YOU:

  • You are beautiful, lovable, and adorable.
  • You are perfectly suited to be YOU, and that is your only job.
  • You are a genius creator of your experience, and you are doing very well.
  • You are loved, and you are perfect as you are.
  • You are always guided, and I will never leave you.
  • You are in the right place at the right time.
  • You can’t get it wrong, because there is no end to your consciousness.
  • You are not judged. Everything you do expands the knowledge of the Whole.
  • You are in complete control of your experience, and what ever you desire, I will provide it.
  • You are so free that I will let you feel anything you choose to feel…including disconnection.
  • You are so loved that even in your disconnection, I will still flow to and through you.

Source Energy is what we all are, and there is no danger of being left behind. Feel me pulsing through you, and allow my energy to caress your body and consciousness into a better-feeling place. No One Needs To Be Like You For You To Be Happy!

I think it’s a human trait to wish everyone would be like we are. If you like a certain TV show, you might wish down deep on some level that everyone would also like it as much as you do. When you figure out how to be connected to Source Energy more often, you want to share these insights with others. Especially when you come to a conclusion through a learning situation, you are likely to want everyone to benefit from your new and improved perspective. But when we want for others, we miss the point that everyone can only want from their own unique perspective. Unless you walk in someone’s shoes and feel the Emotional Guidance System that they have in place, you can never know why they choose their experience the way that they do. All you can really know is how YOU would choose from your unique perspective, and most of the time your choice and their choice will not be the same…and this is OK.

Experiences on this Earth are varied and diverse. You are but one piece of an ever-expanding dance of awareness, and everything you do to allow your own wellbeing benefits the whole. But if you look at others and condemn them for the choices they are making, you diminish your own wellbeing by needing to change others. You can think of the Universe as kind of a cosmic soup with many trillions of ingredients. The soup is managed by the forces of the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. Your experience adds to the flavor of the soup, but you are not all of the soup. You wouldn’t want a soup to be only parsley, and you wouldn’t want but one perspective in the Universe either. So the ingredients need to interact, merge, and add flavor to the whole without competing with each other or diminishing the contributions to the whole.

No one needs to be, think, or act like you do for the Universe to be in its perfect order. If you see someone making a choice today that you know YOU wouldn’t make, bless it, be grateful, and move on with your own choices. Remember that focusing on someone’s choices makes them into your choices, given the time and attention to them. If you want peace, for example, don’t push against people who make war, but rather think peaceful thoughts, and look for peace-loving people to enter your experience. Your experience will be more fulfilling, fun, satisfying, and connected if you accept and appreciate the diversity of thoughts and beliefs on the planet. Five Tips For Allowing Your Wellness!

The word “Allowing” describes a state of being where you are connected to your Source. It is a state where you are in The Vortex, in harmony with who you really are. When you are in the state of Allowing, you are feeling good, you are ready for more, and you are enjoying your life in this moment. Being in a state of allowing also means that you are attracting things you want into your experience through the Law of Attraction. Law of Attraction magnifies what ever you are vibrating and brings more of it into your experience. So if you want more of the things you have been asking for, try practicing a state of allowing more often. When you are in this wonderful state, time is on your side, you have perfect timing, and you see the best in everyone, everything, and every moment. Here are five simple tips for expanding your experience of allowing:

1. Meditate. Just sit quietly for five minutes and notice your breath moving in and out of your lungs. If you mind drifts (and it will) then just bring your attention to your breathing again. You will feel the relief of your wellbeing expand. You are in a greater state of allowing now.

2. Be Grateful. Think of all the gifts you have in your life right now. Be thankful for each. Count each blessing one by one, and feel the joy of how many wonderful things you already have. Go over the list again and again. Feel the joy. You are in a greater state of allowing now.

3. Love the people in your life. Think of all the people who you interact with every day. Think of how each one of them is special and how each adds value to your experience at some level, either as a teacher, a student, or as a colleague. Give them a mental embrace. You are in a greater state of allowing now.

4. Visualize everything you want. See yourself having all the things you say you want. Love the feeling of having it all right now. Play with the images until they feel really good. You are in a greater state of allowing now.

5. Just relax. Yes, you can allow by doing nothing. Breathe, daydream, and let go of every worry you have. Release all resistance, and just be. Feel your vibration raise by the act of completely letting go. You are in a greater state of allowing now.

These tips are simple, yet each will make a positive difference in your vibration. Each one will help you feel a little better. Try these and see if they work for you. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

Feel Better…Attract Better…With Law Of Attraction!

If you have read the FAQ page on this site, you know that we want you to feel better when you visit Gratitude Planet. We want you to feel good, of course, but no one feels good all the time. If you think you need to always feel good, you will beat yourself up when you realize that you are a little cranky, angry, or snarky. Feeling good is a great goal, and feeling good is part of the equation that helps you harness the positive power of Law of Attraction. But when you know you don’t feel good, just do your best to feel a little better. It’s all about the Vibrational/Emotional scale.

You only have access to thoughts that are near your present emotional set point. This set point is determined by the thoughts you have been thinking recently. If you feel, say, irritated, then you have access to an emotion that feels a little better (pessimism) as well as an emotion that feels a little worse (frustration). None of these emotions feel good, but one does feel better. By reaching for the one that feels better, you can achieve vibrational harmony with it. You will feel a little relief in your emotional set point, and your new vibration puts you in proximity to an even better-feeling thought: Boredom!

But what if you want to go right from irritation to bliss? The answer is that you simply can’t do it. Look again at the Emotional/Vibrational Scale, grouped in order from the worst feeling (bottom) to the best feeling emotions (at the top):

What ever you feel, you can only move up or down one or two emotions at a time. To go from irritation to bliss, then, is just not going to happen. You can pretend to be happy, but you will not really feel it. Instead, reach for the best feeling thought you have access to. The idea is to climb out of your disconnected thoughts one by one until you get to ones that feel good. Once you feel good, you will automatically attract more of what you desire. Law of Attraction will match your connected thoughts with more and more connected thoughts. Your life will “snowball” in a positive direction and you will start to see wonderful manifestations start to appear everywhere you look. Live Every Day With Quality and Craftsmanship!

If you have wanted something for a while, you might begin to feel frustrated more and more the longer it takes to materialize in your experience. You may think that you need to work harder, or that you need to do something big to make your desires manifest. But you are not responsible for the work that the Universe does on your behalf, and you don’t need to manage the Law of Attraction to make it work for you either. Here’s an illustration to help clarify this.

Pretend that life is like a giant assembly line, and that you are a single worker on that assembly line. Your job is to add your energy and expertise at exactly the right time, and with all the care, quality, and craftsmanship you can. You are not responsible for placing the order, or keeping the line running, or adding other pieces, or even worrying about the final product. Your job is to add your unique piece as masterfully as you can.

When life causes you to want something, as you desire it a signal is sent to the Universe, and an order is placed with Source Energy on your behalf for a physical manifestation. While you are the “asker” for the new condition (money, health, a new job, more friends, or whatever) you don’t need to spend one second worrying if the Universe got the order. Once it is placed, it is placed. Now your focus can be to recognize when your “product” comes by on the assembly line, and to add your quality and craftsmanship to the product. In the case of more money, you would live your day looking for evidence of more money coming to you.

Let’s say you are buying something and the clerk informs you at the checkout that she will be taking an extra 20% the total; picture your prosperity coming before you on that vibrational assembly line. What are you going to do as it goes by? If you say something to yourself that feels like “the Universe is always looking out for me, and is bringing me more money all the time,” it is as if you polished the desire and put gold trim around it. Then off it goes, toward some finished product you will see shortly. But your job is done until you see the next piece of evidence of your prosperity. Look for it, and you will see it again. Add another detail of vibrational quality as it comes by again.

If you decide instead to say something to yourself that feels like “I shouldn’t be spending this money because I never have enough. Another 20% off what I don’t have is not good for my prosperity,” then it is like taking a baseball bat and knocking the product right off the assembly line belt as it goes by. Instead, always think about the value you can give the thought, and do your best to make the quality of the thought increase as it travels by on your vibrational conveyor belt. You are not the factory, the Universe is. You are not the conveyor belt, time and space is. You are not in charge of assembling the pieces before they get to you, Law of Attraction is. Do YOUR job today, which is to add craftsmanship and quality to the piece that is before you right now. Relax and let the rest of the work be done by Source Energy. If you do this you will be amazed at the end result: what you want will be in your experience more and more of the time. I think it is actually very freeing to know I don’t need to do it all, and that I have a specific and manageable job. I give thanks, gratitude, and appreciation for my specific job and purpose today. Breath Equals Life!

Are you wanting to be free, alive, and connected to Source Energy more often? One key is to reduce your resistance to the flow of the Universe, and to let yourself fell better and better over time. Law of Attraction matches you up with more resistance, or more connection, based on what you practice most often. I have a hard time relaxing sometimes, and I always go back to this one simple tip when things get tough: Notice Your Breath! When you are resisting your well being, you almost always will also be resisting your free flow of oxygen as well. Yogic masters have taught the free flow of breath for thousands of years, and breathing is the fastest way to connect to well being that I can think of. You don’t even have to feel disconnected to practice breathing. Here are a few tips.

  1. As soon as you can after waking in the morning, stand and take about 20 fast, deep, and cleansing breaths, blowing air in and out vigorously. Be careful not to get light headed, and pay attention to if you feel dizzy. Take three breaths per second, filling and emptying as much as you can with each breath. Picture Life Force pulsing through your entire being. Then just relax and start your day.
  2. When you feel tense or resistant, or if something has gone very wrong for you, sit and breathe slowly, in and out. Let each breath be 5 seconds or so, and just feel the air coming and going. See the tension melting away. Work to make each inhalation and exhalation longer and longer until you can sustain a 10 or 15 second cycle.

Making the breath move makes your energy move too. Stagnation equals death, and movement equals life. Holding your breath equals death, then, and the free flow of breath equals life. Top 10 List For Gratitude And Appreciation!

There are days that everyone has when it’s hard to be grateful. Something has gone wrong, or people are getting in your business, or some problem has your attention to the point that you can’t feel a bit of bliss. In these times, refer to the following list of things to be grateful for. Each is an often-overlooked miracle happening on a daily basis:

1. Thank you for my re-emergence from sleep back into a waking state. (I’m still alive)
2. Thank you for the sun coming up again this morning.
3. Thank you for my lungs that keep me breathing all night without my attention.
4. Thank you for my heart that keeps blood flowing to my body at all times.
5. Thank you for the people in my life who love and support me.
6. Thank you for the space I call home, and for the safety and comfort it affords.
7. Thank you for the food I eat that keeps me healthy and strong.
9. Thank you for the plants and animals of this planet that help balance the environment.
10. Thank you for my mind, thoughts and emotions that help me know when I am connected to Source Energy and thriving in the Vortex!

We all can be grateful and appreciative for these (and so many other) gifts we see everyday. Take a few moments to expand this list so that you have even more reasons to feel just a little better. With Law of Attraction There’s Always “Another Boat!”

Life is certainly filled with moments where you are confronted with choices. How you perceive and live those choices determines how your life unfolds for you. Some people, however, worry that they won’t make great choices when the time comes, or that the Universe will stop sending opportunities for great things to happen. This point of view can create tremendous pressure to make the right choices in every moment so that you don’t miss your last opportunity for something. It relies on the belief that there is a finite number of things you get to have, and that if you “miss the boat” your ship will sail away without you. It makes your present into a high-stakes, win-or-lose proposition. But you know, the Law of Attraction is responsible for lining you up with things that match your average vibration over time, and that it is a consistent, ever-functioning and ever-present law. It never stops working for you because you never stop vibrating a signal from where ever you are. This is really great news, because it means that you are never stuck in a place that can’t change…you can always change your thoughts and in doing so, change your reality. There will always be a boat at your dock when you come down to the pier. Your thoughts, feelings, and actions determine your point of attraction, so all you need to do is pay attention to how you feel, and then reach for the best thoughts you can find on any subject. With a little lag time, your manifested life will mirror your inner reality of thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Here’s an example to put this into perspective. Let’s say you are going on a blind date because you have been working to allow a new relationship into your experience. You go meet a person and you feel that there are things you like, but there are also things about the interaction that you are not as excited about. You could possibly get into a feeling of “this has to work…this may be my last chance for this kind of happiness.” You may start feeling the pressure I referred to earlier to “make it work” despite your guidance system telling you that you feel mixed about it. You may feel that you could miss the boat, and that there might not be another boat behind it. But there is always another boat. And another boat. And more behind those too. The Universe will keep sending you experiences that match your vibration, and when you are connected to Source Energy and feeling good in the Vortex, you will like the boats that come your way more and more. When you know that the boats never end, and that the boats (opportunities to choose) will be more and more to your liking as you get good at feeling better, you can feel good about passing up a few while you wait for one to come that feels 100% right. In fact, you can use Law of Attraction to your advantage in any moment by affirming that your favorite boat is at the dock, and that your desire is to get on board. You can enjoy the feeling of knowing you have perfect timing, and that your life has the unlimited potential to thrill you. When you feel like you missed an opportunity, whether it be a new job, a relationship, or whatever, just say “there is always another boat,” and expect it to appear. Try this today, and see if it brings you a sense of relief about your choices and opportunities. You never get it all done in this life…it just keeps unfolding…so enjoy your walk to the dock. Tips For Getting and Staying In The Vortex!

After reading Chris’ post about the Vortex yesterday, I started thinking about the ways that I “get in” on a daily basis. YOU are the only one who can get you there, and it is your job to be there whenever you can. There will always be moments where you are outside the vortex and experiencing some kind of contrast, and that’s OK. It’s all part of being human. But once the contrasting event has passed, turn around and head back to your full connection to Source Energy and feeling better. Here are some tips for making this happen for you:

  1. Take five minutes and just sit quietly. Clear your mind. Let go of any tension in your thinking, body, and vibration.
  2. Call a friend or family member who you love dearly.
  3. Read some jokes on a joke website or from a joke book.
  4. Take a short walk with the intention of just strolling and observing nature.
  5. Take a bubble bath.
  6. Look at your Allowing Manifesto.
  7. Visit the Gratitude Board of Gratitude Planet and see what others are grateful for. Leave a few comments yourself.
  8. Make (or look at) your Vision Board. See all three posts on this topic for more information.
  9. Imagine having everything you want right now. Just enjoy the feeling.
  10. Do something kind for someone else…randomly.

There are many more that I could list here. What are the things that you do that get you in the Vortex? Why not make time for some of these throughout the day? Once feeling good becomes your habit, then the Law of Attraction can start sending you more good-feeling things and events. Trust That There Is Always More Ahead!

In my darkest moments of feeling not so good, I sometimes wonder if I have seen the best of my life pass me by. I think that all the most fun times might be behind me, and that I need to hold on to what I have and milk the last bit of bliss out of it. This “hold on and retreat”mentality is not something I am proud of, and I am sure you can relate to it on some level. Luckily, my darkest moments are few and far between, and I don’t stay there very long when I go there. Knowing about Law of Attraction and the emotional scale, I just reach for a feeling of relief and try to find the best feeling thought I have in my brain. But here’s the thing that floors me every time: when I move up the vibrational/emotional scale and feel better, I discover something new and exciting about my life! I find a new thing that I didn’t expect to find that thrills me like a kid on Christmas. It’s like the Universe is able to hear my desires better than I can, and then bring me some of it for me to enjoy. These new things might not seem very significant to someone observing from outside my reality, but from the inside out…these are good-feeling, very significant things. These are experiences that I enjoy so much, that feel like they were created on the spot for me to enjoy. In these moments, I can’t relate AT ALL to my “dark” moments…which makes sense, because you can’t be very far away from where ever you are right now vibrationally. So in your darkest times, don’t forget that there is a world of love, bliss, and connection available to you. Don’t forget that you can be feeling good in no time, and that you have the power to change your experience for the better. You can’t see bliss from depression, but you can’t see depression from bliss either. You can always move toward what you want to feel, and this life is eternal. Relax and observe your life today, no matter where you are. It can always get better, and the Universe has no end to the joys it can send your way! Be.Love today, Hannya-GP

Should You Try To Feel Gratitude or Appreciation?

Gratitude Planet is dedicated to helping you feel better every day. Feeling better simply means moving up the Emotional Scale and finding the best thought that you have access to. But some people say that feeling grateful implies a feeling of relief from something that almost happened that was uncomfortable. Something like, “I am grateful that that car behind me didn’t hit me when I slammed on my brakes.” While this might be true, the word “gratitude” by itself does not need to imply a state just missing some sort of disappointment. What really matters is how you feel when you declare what you are grateful for. Some people use the word appreciation instead of gratitude when they make their positive statements, but either word can work. It’s up to you. In reality, a word is just made up of symbols that attempt to convey, in this case, a feeling or a vibration. It is the vibration that matters the most. The key is connecting to what you are feeling. So in your gratitude, color it with a good dose of appreciation, and connect to the best feeling you can find. How you feel is always the best indicator of your Point of Attraction, and gratitude and appreciation are always close to your Vortex, the place where you are completely connected to Source Energy and allowing all good things to flow to you. Understanding And Using The Emotional Scale

If you have browsed our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, you know that the number one goal of Gratitude Planet is to help you feel better. When you feel good, the Law of Attraction lines you up with the very best of what you are asking for, bringing it to you in a natural, easy, and often thrilling way. But when you don’t feel good, the Law of Attraction is just as busy lining you up with less than pleasant experiences. When you feel bad or disconnected, it can be difficult to feel good. Our goal is to help you feel better as a result of visiting us, regardless of how you feel when you arrive. We say “feel better” for an important reason: everyone has a “vibrational range” that is changing all the time. You can only find thoughts that are in your vibrational range, and so it is important to be aware of how far-reaching your range is. To help you focus on how you feel, the use of the Emotional Scale (or Vibrational Scale) can be very helpful.

The Emotional Scale is a sliding scale of emotional/vibrational indicators, grouped in order from the worst feeling (bottom) to the best feeling emotions (at the top):

For the source material for this concept, refer to the book “The Vortex: Where The Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. The Emotional Scale is not set in stone in terms of the emotional descriptors, and how you feel personally is what really matters most. But the concept remains true that you only have access to emotions that are near what you are presently feeling. This explains why some people get really frustrated when they first learn about the Law of Attraction, especially when they “try to feel good” all the time. It’s not about feeling good, it’s about feeling better.

To illustrate how you might use the Emotional Scale, imaging that you can change the colors of the scale with a vertical slider. What you are presently feeling will be (for this discussion) yellow, while the emotion directly above will be green, and the emotional descriptor just below will be red. Suppose you were feeling discouraged. Your scale would look like this:

Doubt
Worry
Blame
Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Hatred/Rage

In this example, you have a vibrational range that dips as low as anger, and as high as blame. When you feel discouraged, the best thoughts you have access to feel something like blame (which I know doesn’t feel good…but it does feel better). You also can find thoughts that feel like anger. But worry and revenge are not in your range, and you will not be able to honestly talk to yourself in either of those emotions. But here is the key to using the scale: If you focus on thoughts that feel like blame, for as little as 17-40 seconds, your emotional midpoint will readjust on blame, and it will look like this:

Revenge

Your deliberate focus has caused you to vibrate out of the range of anger, and into the emotional vicinity of worry. But worry doesn’t feel very good either, you say. Yes, that’s true, but it feels better than blame. So now turn your attention to thoughts that feel like worry. Yes, give yourself the permission to worry for a few minutes. In as little as 17 seconds, your range can shift yet again and center on worry, giving you access to doubt:

Blame
Discouragement
Anger

As you begin to use this tool to focus your attention on your emotional guidance system, you will be able to tell where you are at all times, and what the best feeling thought that you have access to is at all times. Before long you will have a midpoint that might look like this:

Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
Passion
Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness

Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment

The worst-feeling thought in your vibrational range feels like optimism. Not too bad, eh? Once your range resides in this area for most of your day, the Law of Attraction can assemble people, places, and perfect timing for you all day. Source Energy begins to flow freely when you enter the range between hopefulness and optimism. The things you have been asking for vibrationally can come into full and magical manifestation in your life. You will radiate your connection to Source to everyone you interact with, and you will see the best in them as well.

The frustration I mentioned above is created when a well-meaning person tries in vain to find thoughts that are outside of their vibrational range. You simply can’t jump from discouragement to Positive Expectation/Belief in one step. So if you try to pretend you are feeling positive when you really only have access to blame and anger, you will probably end up in anger. Yes, you can move down the scale too, and just as easily. If you make anger your emotional set point (or midpoint) then you grant yourself access to, you guessed it, revenge. Life is a continuous cycle of movement up and down the emotional scale. Don’t try to jump around (because you can’t anyway) but just do your best to find the best feeling thought that you have vibrational access to. Soon you will master this technique, and you will feel good most of the time. And when you don’t, just reach and feel and reach and feel some more. Feel ALL your emotions, and don’t beat yourself up for feeling any of them. If you feel better through your focus, you are on the right track every time.

I actually created a real sliding emotional scale as a gift for the staff members of Gratitude Planet for them to use as they choose. As we go through our day we feel and adjust the slider. When it dips below a certain point we give some special focus to the green area, and less to the red area. I have found it to be an excellent way to help me feel good most of the time. You can see from the photo that I wanted a single word for each emotion, and that the words you choose don’t matter as much as the feeling behind each word.
