I was thinking this morning about the phrase “as if your life depended on it,” like when someone says “run as if your life depends on it.” It has several angles worth examining. When you say that your life depends on something, it tends to get your attention. With attention comes focus, and through focus we get clarity. When you are clear about what you want, it is easier to become aligned with an idea. When you are aligned, the Law of Attraction does it’s magic and brings more things to you that are a match to the alignment you have created. So anything that gets your attention can be of benefit to your progress as you create a deliberate life of bliss and connection.
But does your life really depend on something for its existence? Aren’t we eternal beings? Surely we will all make a transition someday back into pure, positive energy. But that won’t be an end, it will just be another transition in an ever-unfolding Universe of expansion. So if we fear death as an end, it can certainly get our attention and give us focus and motivation…but it may cause us to chase our connection to Source from a disconnected, fear-based focus. So I don’t recommend creating focus through fear. So the phrase, “live as if your life depended on it” seems less helpful from this perspective.
So this morning I am using the following phrase to focus my attention to my wellbeing: “Today I live as if my love depends on it!” I am an eternal being. My life is assured. The only real question I have today, then, is whether or not I am allowing my full connection to Source Energy (Love) or not. When I live as if my love depends on it, I take a focused look at how I feel today, knowing that I can open in love, or I can turn from love and be closed off from it. When I choose thoughts that feel good as I think them…thoughts of gratitude, appreciation, wellbeing, etc., I open up my consciousness to higher and higher (better feeling) vibrations. I become a conduit of love and connection. I uplift everyone in my experience (even through cyberspace).
Choose today to pay attention to how you feel, and see if you can allow more love into your vibration. Love yourself first, and then let that love radiate out everywhere you go, into every interaction you have. Love your day, love your cup of coffee, love your job, and love everyone you come into contact with. Your life doesn’t depend on it, but your love does. Live in love today. If you have asked the Universe for something, and you feel like you have been doing well playing with Law of Attraction, you might be asking “so where is all my stuff?” If you have asked, your stuff exists. It just takes time for it to be seen in your daily life (at least to the point that YOU will admit it’s there!) But I am here to remind you that your “stuff” is peeking at you all the time. Let’s say, for example, that you are asking for more money and prosperity to show up in your experience. You asked (vibrationally) when you felt like you didn’t have enough money, and now you are relaxing and letting Law of Attraction line you up with your new fortune. You are doing well. It’s time to savor the abundance in your life.
As you move through the day, see how the Universe is lining you up with the essence of abundance and prosperity, and then savor and enjoy it. Perhaps you get a call from a friend to house sit, and then they also need you to run a few errands in their car as well. Notice that you are suddenly living in a nicer house than the one you rent, and that the car you are driving is much like the one you have imagined as your next car. It’s yours now! I know you might say, but the point is that it’s NOT mine. That IS the problem. And if you look at it that way, then I agree that you have a problem. When you see these things as reminders of what you DON’T have, you move away from your stuff. When you savor it as an added expansion in your present experience, you help allow your stuff to come to you.
What I am suggesting you do today is notice how the things you want are in your experience today already. You have friends when nice people chat with you in the grocery line, and you have beautiful things to appreciate in stores, even if you choose not to buy them right now. Your new car is suddenly everywhere you look, and your new relationship is just behind every smile you see in others. Savor these gifts of abundance and tell yourself that it’s all here right now. This will keep you feeling good and open to receiving everything you want. Thank you so much… Be Well,

I was walking the other day and started noticing the voices in my head. Before you think I am crazy (which my friends would say I might be) remember that we all talk to ourselves in our mind. There seems to be a constant chatter going on commenting on everything that is happening all the time. Sometimes when I meditate I can get it to calm down but it is mostly always there. You probably have noticed the same thing.
So on my walk I started observing what the chatter in my mind was. I think because of the rhythm I was walking to, I was mostly singing songs to myself. The songs were songs I know or have known from my past. I had to ask the question, “what vibration am I reinforcing with these songs?” I know Law of Attraction always hears what you say and vibrate. The words to the song I had in my head when I started noticing all of this went like this: shot to the heart and you’re to blame…you give love a bad name!” I like this song, and I love Bon Jovi. But I had to decide if it was a good use of my walk and inner talk time to be repeating these words to myself. So for fun, I sang the song but changed the words a bit: love with your heart it keeps you sane…I give love a good name!” Just singing the new words to myself made me laugh and smile, and I swear I could feel my vibration raise. I felt better. So notice today what you say to yourself and see if it raises your vibration. If it doesn’t then change the words, the song, of the theme of your inner voices. It works for me and perhaps you will feel a positive difference in your vibration too. I hope so.
If you don’t tend to sing songs, just notice what you say to yourself in your mind. Are you kind to yourself, or do you put yourself down? Are you optimistic, or do you expect things to go wrong for you? You are in charge of the words you think. You have the control to make a positive change at any time you choose to. Law of Attraction will always respond and magnify your average vibration, and the words you think and the way you feel is what creates this vibration. Thanks for reading. For all of our Gratitude Planet community located outside of the United States who might not know it, today is Independence Day in the US. It’s a day to reflect on all the gifts we have, all the people that we appreciate, and the freedoms we enjoy in an open society. People are generally off work and are gathering with friends and family for a cookout and a local parade. It’s the perfect day to whip up some Gratitude and Thanks, and now is the perfect moment to let the horses run on a rampage of appreciation and gratitude.
Start with Thanks. Wherever you are right now, take two minutes and mentally list everything you can think of that you are thankful for. Your inner monologue may be something like “Thank you for the weather today, thank you for the air I am breathing, thank you for the clothes I am wearing, thank you for the eyes I use to see, thank you for my mind that helps me think, thank you for the …..” You get to decide what feels best to you.
Next take two minutes to be Grateful. It might go something like this: “I am grateful for my job (or job prospects), and I am grateful for my amazing living space that feels so good to be in, and I am grateful for my interactions with others, both in person and in cyberspace, and I am grateful for my coffee maker that creates a perfect morning drink for me, and I am grateful for…” Again, the words you choose are the right ones for you. Next move to Appreciation. Appreciation feels a little more connected than Gratitude, which is why you should move through Thanks, to Gratitude, and then to Appreciation.
So now, take two minutes and mentally list everything you appreciate. Don’t worry if you repeat some things that you have already said. Your inner monologue may be something like “I appreciate my spouse who loves me so much, and I appreciate my body and all its health and wisdom, and I appreciate my dog who always seems connected and free, and I appreciate Source Energy and its consistent flow of well-being into my experience, and I appreciate…”
If you do these three simple exercises, you will feel a shift in your vibration. You will move up the Vibrational Scale. Your cork will begin to float again…and you will definitely feel an expansion in the way you feel. You will be able to move into love and bliss. You will have done the inner work required to change your world for the better. You will be able to carry this vibration into your whole day. I came to a great realization recently. I realized that you can’t make a thought stop. If you try to stop thinking about something, you only think about it more. So I made a pledge to redirect my thinking instead. Here are three times I did this during this past week:
- My mother called. I was in a rush. I felt mad that she caught me at a bad time. I seemed irritated, and she could tell. I could tell. Then, I decided to think about how much she means to me. I redirected and thought about what a gift it is that she is still alive and aware of her surroundings. I thought about how lucky I am to have her. I felt better. I felt grateful. The conversation went better. I was on time after all to where I was going.
- I was on hold with the phone company trying to sort out a charge on my monthly bill. I held for a while, got a nice person, had it almost resolved when…the call was dropped, and I couldn’t call the agent back. (Irony abounds, eh?) I had to go through the whole process AGAIN! I was ready to take it out on the next person (who didn’t know me or my story at all), but instead, I redirected my thoughts. I “made up” a story about this person, and it went something like this: This person loves their job. They will enjoy helping me. They didn’t cause the dropped call. They will be able to solve this easily. I will enjoy interacting with this agent. And that is EXACTLY what happened. No dropped call either.
- I was driving to work and found myself in bumper-to-bumper traffic. “EEEEK!” I knew i would be really late at the rate the traffic was moving. “Damn it,” I thought. “This sucks! Why ME?” Then I redirected. I told THIS story: Maybe this delay is setting me up to run into events and circumstances that will help me today. Maybe I avoided an accident myself by slowing here. I will be in perfect timing today. I can’t be late, because I am perfectly aligned with people and events. This is just part of the perfection. In the five minutes that I redirected my thoughts, the traffic started moving and I was on my way..and NOT late for work. Gratitude and appreciation flowed.
OK, you might say, thinking didn’t change those circumstances. You just felt better in those circumstances. And I say, look, Law of Attraction either is real, or it isn’t. If it’s real, then how I feel matters a lot! If it isn’t real, I just got lucky. I can’t prove it to you, but you can prove it to yourself. Try redirecting and see if you have fewer bad endings and more good endings to your daily segments. I swear that when I redirect, things work out almost every time. My first post on optimism was called “Optimism is a Choice” and can be read by clicking HERE if you haven’t already digested it. Optimism is one of the emotional range levels on the Vibrational/Emotional Scale, somewhere above the feelings of “hopefulness and contentment.” When you are in optimism you are in the vibrational flow of the Universe enough that the Law of Attraction can bring you evidence of the positive changes you have asked for in your experience. Optimism aligns you with allowing, and it is the gateway to the more powerful emotions of allowing such as Gratitude, Positive Expectation, Belief, Enthusiasm, Eagerness, Happiness, Passion, Joy, Knowledge, Empowerment, Freedom, Love, Bliss, and Appreciation. It is the “gate keeper” to the Vortex, where the Law of Attraction “assembles all cooperative relationships.” Reach for optimism, and you reach for your connection to Source Energy and your inspiration to action as communicated through your inner being. But how do you become an optimistic person? You simply practice doing it until it becomes a habit. Here are several tips to practice being optimistic today:
- Remember that few things on planet Earth are 100% sure. In any scientific study, or poll of people, you will have a split of opinions and findings, and a margin of error. For example, if a large percentage of people believe that they will get the flu this year, there are also some people that believe that they will NOT come down with the flu. This will play out in “reality” and some will and some won’t get the flu. Even if 90% of people get the flu, you can affirm at any time that you will be one of those people who will remain completely healthy. TIP SUMMARY: No one, not even a majority of people, can force me to believe anything that I do not choose to believe.
- You can always use your power of focus to direct your thoughts toward what you want at all times. Use affirming statements when you are driving, exercising, or drifting off to sleep. Some of my favorites are “I always find a parking space,” and “I have perfect timing in all things,” and “I always have enough to be happy,” and “Today is going to be a great day,” and “Things always work out for me,” and “I expect to see and draw to me happy and connected people today,” and “My dreams tonight will be fun, exciting, and inspiring.” TIP SUMMARY: You are in complete control of the thoughts you choose to think, and you can use affirmations to help you make optimism a habitual vibrational offering.
- You can help others see potential positive aspects in things. When you are listening to someone talk, you can find the best in what they are saying and reinforce it back to them. You can say “What I hear you saying is that your perfect job is on the way, and that you will be in the right place at the right time when your perfect job opens up. That’s awesome!” Even if they didn’t say it to you with those exact words, it is uplifting to decide to take their words with an optimistic slant. There are other times where you will have to insert an optimistic phrase in an otherwise pessimistic conversation. Be careful not to be annoying, but also let them know that you see it a little differently. You might say “ya, jobs are hard to find, so I understand your frustration. But I know you will get a great job soon. People thrive in all times, and I see you thriving in my mind’s eye. All is well.” You should feel a little softening in their resistance if your words are phrased carefully. TIP SUMMARY: You can practice your optimism every time you are face-to-face with others.
I love knowing that I can be one of the growing number of people that choose to see the world as opening, evolving, growing, connecting, loving, and allowing. I am elated that I get to choose if I connect or disconnect through my thinking. I am grateful that my interaction with others can be of great value to others. I so appreciate the times when I can be uplifted by the thinking and words of others. I love turning and giving my attention to things that feel good, and making the best out of the things that feel like contrast. I love striving to see my glass overflowing with wellbeing. I love living the results and manifestations that I am enjoying from thinking optimistically over time. Being grateful helps you focus on the things that feel good in your life. It gives you a reason to say “thank you” and it keeps you in line with Source Energy, your Inner Being, and the good that is coming to you in every moment. - State your gratitude in your mind, to yourself, every time you think to do it. It only takes a second, and it costs nothing…but can pay off big!
- Don’t censor your gratitude. Your worthiness to be grateful is never in question. If you feel grateful, go on and feel it fully.
- Be grateful for the things you might normally take for granted…your breathing, your heart beat, your mind, your thoughts, and anything that comes to mind that always has been there for you. You would miss any of these if they went away suddenly!
- Be grateful for all the things you have accomplished in your life so far. Your journey led you to this moment called NOW. Be thankful for all the good, bad, and the ugly. Give thanks for the joy and the tears. You are you because of the journey you have walked up to this moment.
- Be grateful for the things you haven’t even begun yet. Love the fact that your best days are still unfolding. Be grateful that contrast has created a new YOU that is always evolving. Love the newness of each future moment as it becomes your NOW.
- Give gratitude for your prosperity. No mater how much money, food, clothing, or shelter you have, someone has more than you, and someone has less than you. Love what you have, and know that it is the perfect amount for you in this moment.
- Be grateful for the work you do in the world, even if it isn’t your “real job.” Some people make money, and then go do the work that is really important to them. Others do their “paid gig” as their true life’s work. Either way, give thanks for the contribution you get to make in the world through your unique gifts and talents.
- Be grateful for your spiritual family. Sometimes our spiritual family happens to be genetically related, and sometimes the connection transcends blood and bone. Either way, love the people who feed your soul through their kind ways, generous hearts, and loving friendships.
- Give gratitude for the Earth. This planet is so smart, and it keeps us thriving and living in a giant, airless Universe…spinning and whirling century after century. It has a wisdom and a balance, and we are but travelers on its back. Love the true magic that is planet Earth, and appreciate it by acknowledging its beauty and majesty.
- Receive gratitude that others offer to you. The balance of giving is receiving, and you are to be honored, loved, and appreciated as you also have given of the same. Open to receive grateful thoughts and actions from others. You uplift them by receiving their gifts to you.

When I want my computer to support what I need it to do more easily, I open up the “preferences” pane and customize how it behaves. I love this feature. The only time I need it is when I am frustrated by something. For example, when I open a new word document and the font has to be changed, I can tell the computer to change it automatically for me the next time. I like that I have the option for my “preferences” on my computer. It makes my computing experience more fun and personalized. Did you know that you have your own set of “preferences” in your vibration too? Here’s how it works, in a nutshell: You live your life, some things go really well and some things don’t go quite as well. In both cases, you set your vibrational preferences based on your experience. Your “good” events help you ask for more of the same, and the events that feel bad help you ask for the opposite of the experience. If someone treats you badly, it’s like you open up the preferences pane and set your system to “I want people to treat me nicer.” When you run out of money, you set your preferences automatically to “I really want more money.” Life causes you to want, and you send out your preferences automatically to the Universe where it is heard by your inner being and Source energy.
You might wonder, then, why your experience doesn’t change every time you define your new preferences. When I set a new font on my computer, you might say, it stays changed until I change it again. This is true for your computer, and it is also true for you…sort of. You see, you are not an “on and off/black and white” device. You are a vibrational being that is always experiencing what the Law of Attraction is lining you up with. The LoA is responding to the most practiced thoughts you have been thinking. When you set a new preference for more money, you are setting more money into motion for you immediately. It’s like ordering from the internet. The deal is done as soon as you order it. But it takes time for the order to be picked, handled, put on a truck, and delivered to your door. For the Law of Attraction (or the US mail in this case) to bring it to you, you simply have to stick with your preferences and NOT cancel the order! Can you image how silly it would be to order, say, a pair of shoes on line, and then call to cancel it, and then reorder it, and then cancel it, and then reorder it…and then blame the company for not bringing it to you quickly? That is pretty much what you are doing sometimes if your preferences are not manifesting for you over time. Once you set a new preference, love the fact that you have set it into motion, and then get excited about how it will arrive. See it coming to you, and don’t entertain thoughts for very long that may cancel your “order.”
I love to define my preferences, and I love knowing that the Law of Attraction is the delivery system I can count on to bring it to me. I have preferences set for my job, my mate, my art, my car, my pets, my living spaces, my body, my friends, and the list goes on and on. It’s fun to get to decide on all of these. When something isn’t working anymore, I get to imagine it in a better light, and I get to enjoy the coming improvement. I get what I prefer as long as I don’t cancel the order. How FUN! What are you ordering from the Vibrational Universe today? What do you prefer your life to be like? Put that order in and have fun today while the order is processed. I would like to start a series of posts about using optimism to your advantage. Optimism is a key tool in harnessing the full power of the Law of Attraction, and it is nothing more than being picky about the thoughts you choose to think. Each person has a vibrational range, and this range is determined by the average feeling or vibrational content of the thoughts you have been thinking. If you haven’t read the GP post on Using the Emotional Scale, you may want to read it first by clicking HERE. You only have access to thoughts that are close to your vibrational range, so trying to feel optimism when you are feeling doubt is next to impossible to do. But I like optimism as a default “go to” vibration for several reasons. Even if you are in the vibrational range of doubt, your job is to find the best thought that you have vibrational access to. Instead of having to remember what emotional label is above doubt (in this case it is disappointment) I reach for “an optimistic thought” in my range, which might move me into a little higher vibration. I find this easier to do (at least for me) than trying to feel disappointment. I reach for “optimistic doubt” and I land in something that feels better than doubt. From there, I do the same thing again and find some thoughts that could be called “optimistic disappointment,” even if I don’t use that label.
I believe that optimism is especially powerful because it includes a reference to both sides of the issue: the glass is half full, or it is half empty. It helps you choose to focus on the side of the issue that tells a better story. It looks objectively at something and makes the most out of it. It is a launching pad for climbing the emotional scale on any issue. It recognizes the choices you have with two distinct paths, one that leads you closer to where you want to be, and one that leads you away from your desired emotional destination. It is the opposite of delusional; it is grounded and realistic while still being a reach on the vibrational scale. (Incidentally, you can make a good case for the concept of being delusional too, forgetting about “reality” completely and giving thought only to your goal. Many successful people call this “being focused.”)
Do you consider yourself to be an optimist? I know some people that pride themselves on being a self-described “devil’s advocate” and finding the fault in any idea, plan, or brainstorm. They feel that they play an important role in the conversation by bringing everyone down to a realistic level. But they actually do themselves a disservice by lowering their own emotional set point of vibration, which inevitably keeps them feeling worse and worse. The “important role” of pessimist keeps them from manifesting their desires and askings, and their Source will never take a pessimistic view of anything…so they live out of alignment with their own inner being.
Notice today what your thoughts and words feel like. Are they optimistic or pessimistic? Do your thoughts and words lead you to feelings that feel better or feelings that worse? Just notice. If you find that you inject part your day with pessimism, acknowledge that optimism is a choice, just as pessimism is also a choice. Each can be practiced just as easily as the other. In every moment you can choose to see the best, or the worst. You can reach for the best thought you can find, or you can reach for the worst thought you can find. It’s all up to you, and by paying attention you will be empowered to choose more consciously today. I truly believe you will do great things today, and I know you will feel better and better as the day goes on. May you find joy in every moment in this most amazing day! Chris-GP

There are many times when we feel “right” about an issue or topic, and we may feel a need to get others to agree with us about it. But haven’t you noticed that convincing another person to agree with you on something can, at times, be a difficult task. I have come to a point where I like to listen to others express their point of view, and I am honored when they are interested in hearing mine. I have come to accept that we are all different and that we will always have our own unique perception of the world, our place in it, and our goals as human beings. In fact, it is the variety and diversity that keeps the Universe expanding, and it’s what makes being here so exciting and worthwhile. Having agreement on a topic with others can feel really good too, especially when it births new ideas and creative angles to the issue at hand: thought is taken beyond that which it has been before…very cool.
But although it is wise to abandon worry about what others think about your ideas and opinions, it is in your very best interest to get Source Energy to agree with them. But Source is not a person, so how does that work, you ask? Source Energy is a never-ending stream of pure positive energy that can’t be stopped…only resisted. The part of you that exists in pure positive energy is the larger part of who you are. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. So when I refer to Source, I am really referring to YOU as you exist right now in pure positive energy. This larger part of you is communicating with you constantly through your dreams, intuitions, and inspirations. So what you really need to do is get your larger, Source energy-focused part of you to agree with your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Or do you?
Is all YOU, so this seems weird…but instead of trying to get your Source self to agree with you, you are WAY better off getting yourself to agree with Source’s opinion of you. If you have read some of the other GP posts about contrast, and how contrast helps your greater self expand and grow, you know that your Source self has already literally become everything you have wanted to be up to this point. That’s right…everything you have imagined for yourself that you can say right now that you want and have asked for has already manifested for the part of you that is Source Energy. It is the literal expanded version of YOU. That being said, you are best off trying to be in vibrational harmony with your expanded self so that you can allow it all to manifest on planet Earth through the Law of Attraction. But how do you know what Source thinks about you? How can you align with the views and opinions of Source Energy? Here are some of the things we KNOW about Source Energy:
- Source Energy loves you.
- Source Energy knows you are precious.
- Source Energy knows you are worthy.
- Source Energy sees you as the perfect expression of “youness.”
- Source Energy appreciates everything you are, everything you do, and everything you desire.
- Source Energy knows that you are in the perfect place, at the perfect time.
- Source Energy guides you to be the best you can be.
- Source Energy sees the best in others.
- Source Energy never puts you or anyone else down.
- Source Energy feeds your intuition and inspiration and urges you toward what it has already become.
- Source Energy doesn’t doubt you EVER, and uplifts your unique journey.
The list could go on for a very long time. If you don’t agree with Source, or if Source doesn’t agree with you…you will know right away because you will feel bad. But if, on the other hand, you and your Source are of one mind, you will feel joy, inspiration, love, gratitude, appreciation, and many other very connected feelings. When you live in the vibration of Source, you are, as Abraham-Hicks calls it…in the Vortex. The Vortex is the place where you and your Source are in vibrational alignment, and it is the place where all the magic of the Law of Attraction can manifest. Another way to say this is that when YOU and your larger YOU agree through your thoughts, feelings, and actions, you MUST become, right now, the best manifested version of YOU so far. (You know the YOU with great health, money, the relationship, the toys…or whatever you have allowed your Source to become through your vibrational asking.) No one may ever agree with you, but it is your number one job for YOU to agree with your Source! Let that be your goal today, to feel more and more agreement with your Source. I have been noticing some cool things recently about my own vibration. Everything seems to go in cycles and patterns of connection and contrast. I have been in a cycle of connection recently and I want to share a few moments of gratitude with you. This is my little list of things that have gone well. Maybe you can add to this list too:
- My dreams have felt especially restful and fun.
- I’ve been waking up with the feeling like it must be morning, but instead I have hours of decadent sleep left to enjoy.
- I have been eating well, and I feel light and strong.
- There has been little or no traffic on the freeways in the directions I have needed to travel.
- I have found a parking place on the first try every time at work.
- People seem to be especially cheerful and smiley lately.
- Watching Stephen Cobert made me laugh out loud this morning.
- I had a call for some extra work (unexpected income).
- The copy machine didn’t jam at all this week, and I made a LOT of copies.
- I got all my work done in the time I had to do it. I worked fast, but it all got done in perfect timing.
Can you think of ten things that went well for you recently? I know I could make a top ten things that didn‘t go well recently…but not at this moment. Right now I can’t think of one, which is exactly how I like it to be. Your point of attraction will equal your most practiced thoughts, and I love feeling good. Law of Attraction is bringing me more to match my top 10 list. The more I make lists like this, the more lists like this I will be inspired to make. Back in December I wrote a post called “Why Wait? Live It Now!” If you haven’t read this post, you can read it first by clicking HERE. You might remember that I referred to something called “an allowing manifesto” that my wife and I made when we were creating our new beach-front living space. Today I will explain just what this is, and how you can use this tool to help you allow and enjoy the life you want and deserve. We use the term “Manifesto” because we like the feeling of declaring our intentions clearly and publicly to give us even more focus and belief. Here is what the word means in the strictest sense:

We call our document “An Allowing Manifesto” because is doesn’t represent a list of things to accomplish, but rather a list of manifestations that we expect to welcome in to our experience. It’s not a “To Do” list at all, and knowing this will help you ask for what you really want. Remember that when you understand and work with the Law of Attraction, the rules of getting things done are slightly different than what you may have done in the past. With Law of Attraction you allow your wellbeing in, and you look for the things you are wanting to see. You do your best to appreciate the new condition is if it were already here in your present moment. You let the Universe work for YOU, managing all the minutia in magical ways that you could never stay on top of with just your personal human effort and attention.
This Allowing Manifesto is kind of like a Vision Board (for more on this you can search for Gratitude Planet posts about Vision Boards in the “search” function in the tool bar). Both are creations that you make using words and images. Both help create a feeling and vibration of the new condition. Both help you clarify your Universal asking by making you choose the details and feeling-tones of the desires. But an Allowing Manifesto is more about the words than the images, probably as much as a Vision Board is more about the images than it is about the words. Here is how you would go about making your own manifesto:
- Alone or with someone you are co-creating with (wife, husband, S.O., business partner, etc.) have a discussion about what you would like to create and allow in one year’s time. Don’t be limited by what you think you can do by your action alone. Be open to asking for anything that feels good, and for anything that you feel would increase your daily joy. You may find this list easy or difficult to create, but stay with it until you have a list of things that you are feeling good about. Only you know what this list should be, but for a jump start consider better health, more prosperity, more friends, better focus and clarity, a romantic relationship, a new job, a new car, growth in your business, a career change, or anything you can connect with emotionally.
- Get a piece of paper, or open up a word processing or drawing document, and put the following at the top: “Next Logical Step: An Allowing Manifesto, January 24, 2010“ We use the words coined from Abraham-Hicks “the next logical step” because we want this to feel easy, natural, and in perfect timing. In other words, the intention is for the new condition to seep into your awareness throughout the year so that it doesn’t feel like a wave crashing in, but rather like a slow fade to a new and more thrilling color wash on a theater stage.
- Next write or type: “We (or I) set the intention to allow and manifest the following into our (my) experience by January 24, 2011:” You don’t have to use the one year time frame. We choose it because it feels right to us, but you can decide for yourself if six months, eighteen months, or two months feels best. We have done three Allowing Manifestos so far, and the first one was completely manifested in seven months, and the second one is almost complete in thirteen. The newest one is 24 days old and is already well on the way to manifesting. The vibration around the asking will guide you to set the proper time frame for you.
- Next, write the number “1“ and make a heading of the first thing you will allow. In our ’07 Manifesto, we set out to allow a new ocean-front living space. Because we live in Southern California, it didn’t feel right at the time to ask that we would actually own it, but we also didn’t want to limit ourselves by saying we would necessarily rent it either. So we just called it “1. An ability to afford an ocean-view living space, including:”
- Once you have your first heading, make a list of specific things that you intend to manifest. If it is a new romantic relationship, describe what he/she might look like, the hobbies they might have, or the way they smile when they look at you. If it is a new car you are wanting, describe what color it will be, as well as the make and model if you know it already. Our detailed list looked like this:
A. at least 2-bed, 2-bath
B. two secure parking spaces
C. the real sound of the real ocean
D. bright, sunny and open, yet private
E. ocean breeze with large windows and doors facing the ocean
F. easy commute to places of employment
G. ample storage
H. at least 1,000 square feet of living space with a kitchen that is a joy to prepare food in.
I. easy access to the friendly walking-swimming beach
J. nice place to sit outside, grill, and entertain
K. walking distance to shops and restaurants and entertainment
L. quiet street and friendly neighbors/neighborhood
M. dog-friendly community
N. perfect timing and ease finding and securing the living space
O. pet-safe balcony that you can see through
P. hardwood or tiled floors that are easy to keep clean
Q. gas fireplace that works
- Next, write the number “2“ and make a heading of the second thing you will allow. For us, we set an intention to create more income so that we could afford the increase in rent that allowing number 1 would entail. You can word it any way you want. We decided to use these words: “2. Additional income totaling $25,000 (gross) from sources TBA. It will feel like the following:“ Here’s a big tip with working with the Law of Attraction. We didn’t specify how the money would come, but instead how it would feel as the money came. Here is what we put under number two:
A. easy to manage
B. effortless and inspiring in the
energy leading up to the
manifestation
C. activities that draw us forward
D. a journey of joy
E. activities that help people
F. easy to attract people with connections and expertise who can help us, and be part of the unfolding
- Next find a few images that support the allowing vibration of the Allowing Manifesto. You may need to search a while to find these, or you may know immediately what you want the images to be. Paste these onto or into your document, and sit with it for a while. Does it feel good to look at? Are you ready to open your life to these new things? Are you thrilled by what you have asked for? Can you feel the excitement behind the fact that this is all coming to you right now? Love it, and feel the joy behind it.
- Next, put it in a place where you will see and read it on a regular basis. We use the fridge, or the bathroom mirror. I like having an electronic version on my computer so that I can print out copies of it in various sizes. I will put copies in the medicine cabinet, on the dashboard of my truck, on a cork board above my desk at work, and even as a screen saver on my laptop if I choose to use it there. The point is to revisit it and enjoy the fun of including these things into your thinking every day. If you live with these images and intentions in joy every day, when they begin to manifest in small ways you will smile and say “I saw that coming. Yippee! It’s all on the way!”
- Don’t be afraid to tell people who are close to you about the things you are creating in your life. We would say “We are excited that by next year we will be living on the ocean.” Friends would say, “Oh really…where?” We would counter “Oh, none of those details are known yet. But it’s all coming, and we are so excited about it. Law of Attraction of working on it as we speak.” If you don’t have friends who are ready to hear you talk about it like that, visualize yourself doing it to friends you will meet. It can be just as powerful to imagine it in terms of how Law of Attraction works.
That’s it! An Allowing Manifesto forces you to be specific, set a time frame, and spend time with your own joyful desires on a regular basis. Hello Everyone! This is my first post for Gratitude Planet. I have been subscribing for a while and decided to write something to share. (You can do this too! See the tool bar for the “Become a GP Contributing Author” for how to do it.) I hope you are all having a great start to your new year. I just want to tell a quick story to show how what you eat can change the way you feel. I have been honoring my New Year resolutions, and so far I have done pretty good. Changing habits can be like changing the direction of an ocean liner because first you have to STOP what you are doing so that you can get a new direction. If you are like me, I had some pretty intense momentum behind the habits I had. None of my resolutions were about eating differently, or losing weight (but we all have our list, right?). And I was changing what I did little by little with some small lapses, like most people who want to make a change in something. Here’s my story…
I was having a great day a few days ago and was on a gig, and then I noticed a huge spread of food and treats in the green room. Without much thought, I sampled a few things including a chocolate cupcake, some cookies, and some crunchy bar snacks. It was yummy. Later as the day went on I felt really cranky. I wasn’t inspired to do the things I said I would do to change my habits. Eating the sugar treats was fine, but I think it actually set me up for failure when it came to changing the things that I wanted to change. I didn’t think much more about it. I figured, “everyone has good days and bad days. I’m just snarky today.”
The next day I had a day off and was running all over town doing the things I had to get done. The day was much the same in many ways. I pulled in to the grocery for dinner food and an afternoon snack. First, I went to the bakery and feasted my eyes on the baked goods. (I have a real sweet tooth, can’t you tell?) But then I had an inspiration (call it guidance from Source?) to choose differently. I listened and followed my inspiration to the other side of the store, to the fruit section. There I found two things that sounded good to me in the moment: a green apple, and an 8 oz bottle of 100% carrot juice. I finished getting dinner food and got in the car to drive home. I snacked on my apple and carrot juice, which tasted really good ’cause I was really hungry. It was yummy! Again I didn’t give this too much thought in the moment.
Later that day, I had absolutely no trouble finding inspiration to follow my new year’s resolutions. I had good energy, and I was flying high on the emotional scale! (like up in the “Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness” range) I have always heard that “you are what you eat” but I never wanted to be an apple or a bottle of carrot juice! Joking aside, eating real food for energy made a big difference for me, and this is affecting my eating choices today too. Gaining weight is not a worry for me, but feeling good is. Maybe YOU can try eating a little better today. See how it makes you feel. See if feeling better makes you do the things you want to do with even more ease. Reading Chris’ post on the Emotional Scale made me think all day about how important paying attention to how you feel really is. I spent the day brainstorming tips that I hope help people use this tool even more effectively. Here they are:
- If you feel good, just ride it and enjoy what you are doing.
- When you first feel yourself becoming irritated, or whatever, just take a few deep breaths and see if it will melt back into a better feeling.
- If a few breaths don’t do the trick, make a few statements about how you feel in terms of the emotional scale. Say, for example, “I feel frustrated right now.” (If that feels right) Take a glance at the scale, and see what a higher vibration is above it, and reach for it with another statement like “I doubt that this stuff really works.” (Pessimism)
- Notice the relief it brings. Don’t expect to feel good…only the relief of feeling just a little better.
- Now ask yourself, what other statements can I find that feel true? Maybe “I’m tired of doing the same thing over and over again” is the best you can do. OK…that’s boredom! You have moved up again.
- Don’t worry if the thought you find feels worse, and you move down the scale. You can always begin again and reach for another better-feeling one.
- As Chris said, the words don’t matter. Only the feeling matters, so if it feels better, no matter what you call it, it is moving you up.
- Don’t let others tell you how you should feel. If you move from revenge to anger, and some person gets upset at your anger (and tells you to be “happy”)…please don’t use that as an excuse to go back to revenge. Tell them “my anger is a pit stop, not a rest stop!”
- Give yourself the OK to experiment. No one can feel for you. Only you know how your feelings feel. Be easy about your relationship to you. You are lovable…and loved!
- Your Source (Inner Being) loves you, and is constantly calling you up the Emotional Scale. There is energy and momentum built in to get you there. You just have to point your thoughts there, and it will be easier than you think. I guess 17 seconds of reaching is all you need on any level of the scale to get a feeling of relief.

If you have browsed our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, you know that the number one goal of Gratitude Planet is to help you feel better. When you feel good, the Law of Attraction lines you up with the very best of what you are asking for, bringing it to you in a natural, easy, and often thrilling way. But when you don’t feel good, the Law of Attraction is just as busy lining you up with less than pleasant experiences. When you feel bad or disconnected, it can be difficult to feel good. Our goal is to help you feel better as a result of visiting us, regardless of how you feel when you arrive. We say “feel better” for an important reason: everyone has a “vibrational range” that is changing all the time. You can only find thoughts that are in your vibrational range, and so it is important to be aware of how far-reaching your range is. To help you focus on how you feel, the use of the Emotional Scale (or Vibrational Scale) can be very helpful.
The Emotional Scale is a sliding scale of emotional/vibrational indicators, grouped in order from the worst feeling (bottom) to the best feeling emotions (at the top):
Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
Passion
Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment
Boredom
Pessimism
Frustration/Impatience/Irritation
Overwhelment
Disappointment
Doubt
Worry
Blame
Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Hatred/Rage
Jealousy
Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness
For the source material for this concept, refer to the book “The Vortex: Where The Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. The Emotional Scale is not set in stone in terms of the emotional descriptors, and how you feel personally is what really matters most. But the concept remains true that you only have access to emotions that are near what you are presently feeling. This explains why some people get really frustrated when they first learn about the Law of Attraction, especially when they “try to feel good” all the time. It’s not about feeling good, it’s about feeling better.
To illustrate how you might use the Emotional Scale, imaging that you can change the colors of the scale with a vertical slider. What you are presently feeling will be (for this discussion) yellow, while the emotion directly above will be green, and the emotional descriptor just below will be red. Suppose you were feeling discouraged. Your scale would look like this:
Doubt

Blame
Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Hatred/Rage
In this example, you have a vibrational range that dips as low as anger, and as high as blame. When you feel discouraged, the best thoughts you have access to feel something like blame (which I know doesn’t feel good…but it does feel better). You also can find thoughts that feel like anger. But worry and revenge are not in your range, and you will not be able to honestly talk to yourself in either of those emotions. But here is the key to using the scale: If you focus on thoughts that feel like blame, for as little as 17-40 seconds, your emotional midpoint will readjust on blame, and it will look like this:

Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Your deliberate focus has caused you to vibrate out of the range of anger, and into the emotional vicinity of worry. But worry doesn’t feel very good either, you say. Yes, that’s true, but it feels better than blame. So now turn your attention to thoughts that feel like worry. Yes, give yourself the permission to worry for a few minutes. In as little as 17 seconds, your range can shift yet again and center on worry, giving you access to doubt:

Disappointment
Doubt
Worry
Blame
Discouragement
Anger
As you begin to use this tool to focus your attention on your emotional guidance system, you will be able to tell where you are at all times, and what the best feeling thought that you have access to is at all times. Before long you will have a midpoint that might look like this:

Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment
The worst-feeling thought in your vibrational range feels like optimism. Not too bad, eh? Once your range resides in this area for most of your day, the Law of Attraction can assemble people, places, and perfect timing for you all day. Source Energy begins to flow freely when you enter the range between hopefulness and optimism. The things you have been asking for vibrationally can come into full and magical manifestation in your life. You will radiate your connection to Source to everyone you interact with, and you will see the best in them as well.
The frustration I mentioned above is created when a well-meaning person tries in vain to find thoughts that are outside of their vibrational range. You simply can’t jump from discouragement to Positive Expectation/Belief in one step. So if you try to pretend you are feeling positive when you really only have access to blame and anger, you will probably end up in anger. Yes, you can move down the scale too, and just as easily. If you make anger your emotional set point (or midpoint) then you grant yourself access to, you guessed it, revenge. Life is a continuous cycle of movement up and down the emotional scale. Don’t try to jump around (because you can’t anyway) but just do your best to find the best feeling thought that you have vibrational access to. Soon you will master this technique, and you will feel good most of the time. And when you don’t, just reach and feel and reach and feel some more. Feel ALL your emotions, and don’t beat yourself up for feeling any of them. If you feel better through your focus, you are on the right track every time.
I actually created a real sliding emotional scale as a gift for the staff members of Gratitude Planet for them to use as they choose. As we go through our day we feel and adjust the slider. When it dips below a certain point we give some special focus to the green area, and less to the red area. I have found it to be an excellent way to help me feel good most of the time. You can see from the photo that I wanted a single word for each emotion, and that the words you choose don’t matter as much as the feeling behind each word. There are times when I really yearn to be more spiritual, what ever that really means. I will meditate more often, and use my power to visualize more effectively. When I feel an urge to be a human having a spiritual experience, I adjust my behaviors to what ever degree feels right. There is always some point, however, where I feel like I fall short…when I think I should work harder, focus more, or try to be better, regardless of what I have done. It appears to me in those moments that I am chasing something unattainable, and that being “spiritual” is not the end goal at all. We often think of ourselves as humans having a spiritual experience…yet we are really spirit (Source Energy) having a human experience! This way of stating it changes the goals and focus just a bit for me, which I will explain next.
Before we choose to enter into this life of form and contrast and expansion, we are one vibration with Source Energy. This energy has been described as pure, positive energy, and it is the energy that creates and sustains the Universe. It is pure, inexhaustible, free-flowing, always available, and it is the source of everything that exists. It is a stream of energy that flows naturally to and through you. You can resist it, but you can never stop it completely. When you are born into your human form, you emerge on the “outer edge” or “leading edge” of experience, and you gain something (and you lose something too). You gain the ability to create personal preferences for what you want to be, do, and have. You are given the gift of creating new reality with your thoughts. You are given opportunities to sift through multiple ideas so that you can desire, expand, and grow. You are presented with contrasting experiences that help you know what you don’t want, so that you can be clear about what you do want. But what you lose is your perfect vibrational synchronicity to Source Energy. When you were not in human form, your vibration and your inner being’s vibration were one vibration. But from that vantage point (as one vibration) there is no growth, and no contrast exists to hone desire for more. You came here and became Source Energy as a human on planet Earth: you became Spirit having a Human experience.
The most important thing to note about all of this is that you exist for a very important reason: you are helping the Universe to expand. When you were part of pure, positive energy before you were in human form, your experience didn’t create expansion. Now that you are here, your experience creates desire, and that desire is felt by Source. The moment you desire something, Source expands to the outer limits of that desire. In other words, if you want it, Source immediately becomes the full vibrational manifestation of that desire. You might be thinking, “ya, but so what? What does that mean to me here in this life right now?” It means everything.
When your Source expands because of your experience on planet Earth, you and Source are way out of vibrational alignment. When this happens, you can tell because you don’t feel good. The discord is felt through your emotions, and you become slightly cut off from the free flow of your life force from Source. Because Source has taken the expansion that YOU asked for through your personal preferences, you will not feel good until you also take the same vibrational expansion. When you DO take the vibrational expansion, you will feel emotions like gratitude, belief, happiness, passion, appreciation, and bliss.
I am so appreciative that we always know where we are in relation to our alignment with Source Energy. Our number one job is to allow ourselves to be in alignment with the expanded version of ourselves! Source, by the way, will not retreat to a lesser vibration, so until you come up to speed with the new you, you won’t feel very good. Let your emotions be your guide, and know that you are a unique and important part of the expansion of the Universe. You are on the leading edge of thought, and everything you are matters to the eternal unfolding of everything. You are important, worthy, significant, and irreplaceable. Enjoy this most amazing day! - Today is the only day I will live today…I’ll make the most of it.
- I can breathe deeply into my lungs…and air is free and abundant.
- My body recharged overnight, and I had a safe place to sleep.
- I will eat some good food today that will feed my body and fill it with energy.
- I love the opportunity this day brings to do something new, and think something new.
- I appreciate that there are people I love, and that love me too.
- Law of Attraction is on the job today, and everyday, managing all cooperative components of my experience.
- I love that the Earth keeps spinning in its perfect orbit, changing the seasons and keeping us thriving.
- I love that in places where contrast is being experiences, more and more wellness is being created that will bloom and manifest over time.
- I love that we can never get “it” done, so I will do the things on my plate today. My timing and unfolding will be perfect today.

Reading Chris’ post yesterday made me think a lot about how we create our story every day. Life is a kind of movie set where we get to decide on so many things (really everything!). I want to take his ideas another step forward and illustrate a bit how you might play the Director role. Law of Attraction responds to your vibration and gives you more of what it hears you saying. So when you experience something that doesn’t jive with your preferred version of your movie, it is time to yell “CUT!” and shoot a different version of the scene. I’ll give a few examples here of what I mean.
Leading Lady: Wakes up in the morning in bed, jumps up, stubs toe and says “ouch! I am so clumsy! One of there days I’m going to really hurt myself!”(Law of Attraction hears “I am asking for more pain today. I deserve it. This happens all the time. I am ready for a serious accident”)
Director: “OK, CUT! That was well-acted, and quite dramatic, but the line is ‘ouch! Well I can tell I’m not dreaming anymore. Today I’ll get all my clumsies out right away. It’s gonna get better from here, I can tell.’” (Law of Attraction hears “I am expecting this to be my last accident today. The day will get better and better. All is well”)
Leading Lady: Walks into the bathroom and looks in the mirror, evaluates appearance and says “This diet isn’t working at all! I look like a fat slob. Diets never work for me. I’m going to die fat!” (Law of Attraction hears “I am fat. I suck. Don’t bring me anything else except what I have. I am unworthy. No matter what I eat, don’t send me any evidence of progress. Death will be my only resolution to this problem.”)
Director: “OK, CUT! We already shot that scene over and over again. This is the plot twist where she realizes that things are going to change. The lines are ‘I don’t see a huge change, yet, but I know this new diet is working. I feel thinner, and I know every cell of my body is letting in the new, thinner me! I can’t wait to see myself tomorrow. Soon everyone will be able to see what I am feeling right now. Look out world, the new me is here!’” (Law of Attraction hears “I am expecting this diet to work. I will see a manifestation soon. I am on track to allow what I want. People will tell me I look thinner today.”)
Leading Lady: Interacting with someone in the grocery checkout line. Notices that the cashier is nervous and making mistakes. Speaks these lines to the person in line: “Look at this cashier. Is she stupid or what! Why don’t they train them better? How come when you are in a hurry you always get in a line with an incompetent cashier? I mean really, I need to see the manager. This is ridiculous!” (Law of Attraction hears “Bring me stupid cashiers. I attract untrained cashiers to me. I always shop in stores that don’t care about the customers. I’m ready for a big fight with someone, and the sooner the better. Bring me someone to unload on, please.”)
Director: “OK, CUT! Those are the lines of the person in the next aisle in another movie. This scene sets up the leading lady meeting her soulmate in the parking lot in the next scene. Can you play it a bit easier? Your lines are ‘Look at that cashier. She seems a bit nervous. I don’t recognize her. I bet she is new on the job. I remember when I got my first job, and I remember how it took me a while to come up to speed. She is doing the best she can. I appreciate that they have those scanners. It makes the whole process go by so much faster. I found some good sale items, and I am glad it will ring up with the sale price automatically. In a week I bet she’ll be zipping through customers. I always get in the right line, just by intuition. My timing is perfect today.’” (Law of Attraction hears “I am always in the right place at the right time. I appreciate people for where they are in life, and I give myself a break as well. All is well. You can bring me everything I want right now. I am ready and willing to give my love and gratitude to everyone, and I see and draw to me others who vibrate like me.”
The scenes are ongoing in your experience everyday, in every moment. Law of Attraction responds to your vibration and not your words, so it hears what you are feeling, and simply agrees with what you feel. Are you satisfied with the message you are sending to the Universe, which is being constantly matched by the Law of Attraction? If not, take control and redirect your scenes. You choose it all. I decided that today I would go on a rampage of happy appreciation for the amazing role that Law of Attraction plays in all of our lives. If you are new to the concept of LOA, you can search through some of our earlier posts using the search function at the top right of the page. See if you can relate to any of these.Law of Attraction ROCKS because…
1. Whatever happens to me is a reflection of my previous thoughts and vibrations (nothing by chance).
2. I get to choose how I focus my thoughts, so I am empowered.
3. I choose happiness, because I can.
4. I know that “contrast” helps me create new desires, so “bad things” create good things in my life.
5. LOA is consistent, fair, and always working to bring me more of what I focus on.
6. I’ll never git “it” done, so I can always begin again.
7. LOA works fairly and consistently for everyone, so I don’t have to manage any other person’s experience.
8. I always have time to redirect my thinking before thoughts manifest in my experience, so I need not fear my thoughts.
9. I can do, be, or have anything…and I can be living the essence of any dream I can hold in my vibration.
10. I am always asking the Universe for new experiences, and my best days are always unfolding right NOW.
11. My job is to decide what I want, and then relax and allow it. LOA does all the “hard” work for me.
12. There is no assertion into my reality, so nothing can be my experience that I do not allow in vibrationally. Therefore, I give my full attention to things that feel good when I think about them.

You probably have been thinking about how 2010 will be better than 2009, and in the process you have likely been making a few resolutions lately. Here are our top five wellness statements to start off the new year!
1. I will pay even better attention to how I feel.
2. I will make the best of every situation I encounter.
3. I will enjoy each day even more by living fully in each moment.
4. I will create more wellbeing by giving my full attention to people and things that I appreciate and am grateful for.
5. I will relax and remember that all is so very well, and that I am perfectly equipped to expand my joy and allowing in every moment of every day.
I encourage you to just jot down the first five things that come to your mind concerning your new focus for 2010. See if your list resembles this one, or of you come up with things that match your specific intentions more closely than this list. There have been so many good posts on GP lately, and great comments from the community too. I really do appreciate all the ideas and angles that have been offered lately. They help me see things differently and to grow and find a new way of seeing my life. I had the idea for this post when I was thinking about the 3-step process of Law of Attraction: You Ask (automatic), Source Answers (not your work), and You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!). This is powerful, and makes sense to me. Step one and two are mostly out of your hands, while step three is truly your business. But I think there is another step important enough to be listed with these. You know it ’cause you read the title of this post first: Make peace with where you are!
If you read just a few other Law of Attraction blogs you will see that a good number of well-meaning people are struggling to understand LOA and put it to conscious use in their life. They are angry and confused because they have been told that it is supposed to work for them, but then they see that it isn’t working how they hoped it would. The posts (on other sites) that I have read lately seem to be from people who are very unhappy and want change desperately. They are doing a great Step 1 in terms of asking. But they aren’t happy where they are. They can’t accept that NOW is all we have, and that accepting where you are and loving yourself anyway is, let’s say, STEP 1B. I think that we need to make a step for being happy right now, and not putting it off into some far-future manifestation. (It makes sense that people would be angry and confused) If you think that the Universe can bring you a new condition to change your vibration, you don’t understand the basic nature of LOA. You have to change, and then you attract something different. If you stay focused on what you DON’T have, you just get more of what you don’t have. Simple.
Here are my slightly changed steps to make Law of Attraction work for you:
1A. You Ask (automatic through living on planet Earth)
1B. Make Peace With Where You Are, Who You Are, And What You Have. (your business)
2. Source Answers (not your work)
3. You Align With The New Vibration (your work, and only your work, and your only work!)
See today if you can stop taking score, and if you can just relax and enjoy where you are…full knowing that what you want is indeed on its way. You only want the new thing because you know that you will feel better having it. But you can’t get it until you feel better first. So make peace with where you are! Thanks for reading. There are a lot of people discovering the Law of Attraction for the first time, and I think it’s one of the most exciting times to be alive here on planet Earth. People are learning (or remembering) that the sum essence of their thoughts, actions, and feelings is what creates their reality. We are all coming to understand that we are eternal creators, and that we are here for joy, growth, and expansion. People are experiencing how a thought, practiced over time, attracts other thoughts and experiences to match it. More and more people every day are coming to trust Source Energy as a never-ending, consistent supply of love, inspiration, wellbeing, and connection. New websites about how to align with the Law of Attraction are popping up every day, and there are a lot of curious souls who want to learn to live a more purposeful life of joy. You are one of them, because you found your way to this moment in time, at this website, reading these words. Welcome.
The Law of Attraction is not difficult to understand or harness, but there is so much information out there that is geared for different kinds of people. It appears to be much more complicated than it really is. Today I will give you an easy way to summarize the Law of Attraction, and then I will give one example of how I have used it effectively to create something I wanted.
Law of Attraction is a universal law that deals with energy and vibration. Like attracts like. You are like a radio station that is constantly sending out a signal, and the Universe is broadcasting right back at you with the same signal! What ever you broadcast vibrationally as you live your day is matched, enhanced, and expanded by Law of Attraction. If you want change, you have to change your vibrational broadcast signal first, and then the Universe will change to match it. Waiting for the Universe to change YOU is a recipe for disconnection and frustration. I hope you are grasping the amazing truth in this: You have at your fingertips, right now, the ability to harness the energy that creates worlds…and it is constantly working to match and attract to you anything you broadcast. WOW!
A few years ago my wife and I moved to Southern California from the Midwest. We decided to live near the beach, and we found a great apartment just three blocks from the ocean. In only a few weeks we decided that we wanted to be not just close to the ocean, but we wanted to live right on the ocean! It would have been easy to find a million reasons why this would be impossible, but we understand the Law of Attraction, and we set out a course to allow this desire into our lives. The key is to get aligned with your desire, and to live it right now. Yes, you have to live it right now! But, you say, you didn’t live on the ocean. You only lived near the ocean. You were fooling yourself. And I say, sure, we were fooling ourselves…right into a place of feeling good about our desire, and right into broadcasting a signal that the Universe could match. We talked about how great it was to live on the water, and we bought books and magazines that had pictures of the ocean, I set up an electronic picture frame with hundreds of ocean-front images that I found on line, and we even slept every night, all night, to the sound of ocean waves on the iHome iPod dock next to the bed. We made vision boards with pictures of the beach. We also created “an allowing manifesto” for this manifestation of ocean-front living. (More about that in a later post). I found myself spending many hours of inspired time looking at real estate listings, all the while enjoying the feeling of living on the water. Yes, we “fooled” ourselves into broadcasting this signal to the Universe: “we live on the beach, we have the resources to purchase a home, and we love living here.” By not contradicting our own vibrational desire, Law of Attraction had no problem attracting to me a real estate listing that caught my eye. I immediately called the agent and set up a showing. It matched our list of criteria, and we were soon living there. But in our minds, we were already living there. Moving in was the last step, not the first step!
You can do this too. Look at the things you have been asking for. Have you been sending a signal that you already have it? Can you enjoy the feeling of living it right now? If you can do this and love having it now, you will be in the right place at the right time to have it flood to you through inspired action. I would love to hear your stories about your successes. Everyone knows that daily exercise is good for the mind and the body. We all understand that fit people are active people. Yet, it can be difficult to get yourself up and out of the house and exercising every day. There are a million excuses NOT to be active, but in reality, none of them hold up under the slightest bit of scrutiny. I had a music teacher once who told me during a percussion lesson: “if you want something done on time, give it to a busy person.” His point was that busy people manage time well, because they have no time to waste. The people who never have enough time, and who never get caught up, and who feel the real stress of time management are often (but not always) the same people who waste a lot of their own time. I have found that the more I think and rationalize about the time I have available for exercise, the less I seem to exercise. But when I go right out…no real debate with myself…I can get out and get going on my fitness regimen. So the first step to benefiting from exercise is to (and stealing a famous advertising phrase) “just do it.”
Next, it is important to remember why we benefit from exercise in the first place. We are all familiar with the oxygenation of the blood, and the lengthening and strengthening of muscle groups. But this is a website about the Law of Attraction, right? How does this all play into health and fitness? Glad you asked! We know that what you experience is a direct result of the thoughts and vibrations you offer over time. To be healthy, you have to either feel healthy, or offer no resistance toward your wellbeing. We also know that contrast creates a desire and an asking that in turn causes your expansion into greater wellbeing. In other words, you can either simply allow your well being by feeling fit and healthy, or you can create an expansion through a particular kind of contrast we will call “exercise!”
This particular kind of self-inflicted contrast (called exercise) is very beneficial and effective. Try it and see what you think. Lace up your sneakers and go for a run. If you feel tightness in your muscles, how exciting…you are creating a body that is tension-free. It now exists vibrationally, and it is yours to allow. Next, you might feel your breath begin to get faster and more shallow. Yippee! That “out of breath” feeling just created a more fit you, because you can’t help but ask for better fitness when you are out of breath. It is yours to allow and manifest! Your interaction with the contrast called exercise is indeed making you more fit…and the powerful asking you do when you feel this physical stress on your body is benefiting you greatly. Just remember to relax and allow the expansion you have created as soon as you recover from your run.
Lastly, remember that the real work of fitness comes from the feeling of fitness, and if you don’t feel fit…you can not achieve fitness. Law of Attraction brings you experiences of fitness when you feel fit, period. As I implied earlier, you can skip exercise and just feel fit, and you will be fit and healthy. But few people can pull off fitness without feeling like they earned it. There is nothing quite like a long run, bike ride, or day of skiing to help one feel worthy of the vibration of fitness. It is probably much easier to “just do it” and be active in terms of letting in a feeling of health. It’s my plan to let my exercise expand my health through physical contrast, and then to relax and appreciate everything in my life. It’s the perfect One-Two punch for me. In part 1 of “Creating and Using Vision Boards” I discussed what a Vision Board is, and how it worked for me when I wanted to expand my career. In the second part, I showed you how to make a Vision Board, and how you might use it on a daily basis. If you are visiting Gratitude Planet for the first time and haven’t read Part 1 &2 yet, you may want to scroll down and read it before you read Part 3.
Once you have created your Vision Board, you will want to refer to it daily and feel how good it feels while you look at it. I don’t recommend that you look at it when you are busy, stressed, or otherwise distracted from feeling good. As I said in part 2, I look at my Vision Boards either before bed, or sometimes in the morning (taped to the bathroom mirror). My resistance is low, and I need something to focus on anyway as I brush teeth or shave. Here are a couple hints to making the most of this exercise, and harnessing the full power of the Law of Attraction:
1. Pretend what you want has already arrived into your experience. The Vision part of the VB is the gift of seeing the thing as if it has already materialized into your experience. The images you have chosen should feel like a done deal in terms of the manifestation. If you picked images and words that depict the manifestation fully, you should be able to relax and enjoy the feeling of having it. It is the feeling of having it that makes the Law of Attraction able to deliver it to you.
2. Have fun. There is no reason to work at this. If you approach the VB as a job to be completed each day, you may intensify the feeling of needing to work to make it happen. This vibration reinforces a feeling that you DON’T't have it. If you already have it (as this game requires) then there is no need to work or struggle while you look at the VB. It is done, and you should feel the fun of having the thing on your VB.
3. Talk to yourself as if you already have it. Let yourself know (often) how exciting it was to have the things on your VB. Breathe deeply. Love your ever-expanding life and the magic of creating and receiving your expansion. There is no need to contradict your thinking with a “real, here and now” feeling. Let your inner speak reflect the vision on the VB.
4. If you dare, talk to others about how your VB is manifesting (or has manifested). If you have friends that understand and accept Law of Attraction, play the game in real time with them and talk about how grateful and appreciative you are for the manifestations on your VB. Play it up. Let it feel good. Let them add to the power of the allowing.
5. Be patient. Don’t take score right away, but rather look for the smallest clues of the new condition. What ever you have created will start showing it self in small ways first. If you can really get and practice the feeling of the new thing, you will recognize it as it actually appears in the physical world. Just say, yah, that’s my VB in action. It’s here. Yippee.

Have you ever been in a funk where you see people doing dumb things? You see them saying mean things, or things that are just wrong or not true. These people can drive you up the wall. There have been times in the past where I took it as my personal responsibility to set them straight. I would go up to them and point out why they were wrong. If you have ever done this, you know where it leads. It usually leads to a disagreement of some kind with them defending their point of view (even if it is wrong or untrue!!) This kind of interaction feels bad, and I usually can’t shake the anger I can get when I can’t get them too see their error. It makes me feel wrong, as if I am making the mistake.
I don’t feel it is up to me to fix anyone anymore. Correcting a fact (like the date of an upcoming concert) is the only thing I butt in about anymore. The reason I don’t try to fix everyone anymore is that 1. They don’t want my opinion, and 2. It feels bad when I do it (and for a while after I do it, even after they are long gone). I have decided that I would rather “be wrong” in someone’s perception and feel good, than to “being right” in my own mind and feel bad. Actually, what I really do is notice my “rightness” while feeling good at the same time, but without having to get anyone to agree with me or change their perception. I AM FREE! I don’t think I walk around looking all stuck up like a know-it-all either. I just go about my happy way, sometimes making mistakes but always looking to feel as good as I can. There has been one amazing side effect of my new approach. I swear, I don’t have as many people in my face making me angry anymore. Now that I allow people to think differently from me without me trying to change them, more people seem to agree with me. It must be a Law of Attraction magic thing. I am grateful for the relief I feel now that I am not responsible to change everyone. All I do is need to connect to Source Energy and be the best person I know how to be. Wheww!
