If you are like me, there are times when you can’t seem to slow your life down long enough to stay centered for very long. I am doing this or that, running here or there, and taking care of things that need doing. But when I feel like I need to find my center, allow more wellbeing, and connect to Source Energy, there is no quicker and better way than to meditate for 5–10 minutes. Some people think that meditating means burning incense, chanting “Ohm,” and pondering your belly button for hours at a time; but I am talking about a much simpler process that I will outline here. Meditation really can be as simple as sitting quietly, walking deliberately, or breathing rhythmically. If you are new to meditation, try these steps and ass if you feel better in the process:
- Sit quietly in a chair or on the floor, and make yourself comfortable in an upright position. If you need to wear comfortable clothes, change into these clothes first. Have an alarm that you can program for 5, 10, or 15 minutes. I like my iPhone for this.
- Close your eyes and just start to notice everything around you. What do you hear? What do you smell? Take in information from your senses, but don’t judge any of it. Simple notice things.
- Once you are in the moment and noticing things, pick one thing to focus upon. It can be your breathing as you notice it going in and out. It can be a sound in the room, such as a fountain, or wind chime. It can be anything you choose.
- Once you start focusing on the sound of your choice, just allow yourself to exist in the moment with the sound. If your mind wanders…and it will…just bring your attention back to the focus of the sound, or your breath. There is nothing else to do. Just go with it.
- Stick with the meditation for 5–10 minutes and notice how you feel. You will probably get a flash of intuition, insight, or inspiration at some point. You may get the solution to a problem you have been worried about. You may even feel a renewed sense of purpose for the entire day.
- When the alarm goes off, open your eyes and take a few more breaths in and out. Be grateful for the time you spent opening your mind and senses. Feel your wellbeing increase. Notice that you probably feel a little better than when you started.
Meditation is a process that can be tailored to the individual, and there is no right and wrong way to do it. You can think a short mantra (several words that you repeat over and over again), or you can use affirming sentences. Everybody has their favorite methods. No matter how you do it, enjoy the process of convening with yourself with the intention of feeling better. If you do it every day, you will really notice a difference as soon as the first day you do it…and the more you do it the easier it gets. The last flight I took there was the normal safely lecture before the jet took off. I pretended to listen (like everyone else) and stared into space. Then, when they got to the part about the oxygen mask coming down from the ceiling it made me think of an important fact of life. This is that you must secure your own mask before helping others. What this means is that you can’t help one other person find their center and connection to Source Energy if you can’t find your own. It is honorable and right to want to be of service and value to others, but you can’t lead another to wellbeing from your sense of not-wellbeing.
The best thing you can do every day is wake, be grateful, and find your sense of bliss and wellbeing before you do anything else. If you see people throughout the day and they sense your good feeling vibration, they are going to want to join you and feel good too. Law of Attraction will line you up with others who feel good too, and you will uplift those who interact with you as well. If you don’t take care of your own vibration first, they will sense this too and will join you in not feeling good. Law of Attraction can line you up with miserable-feeling people just as easily. It’s OK to be selfish when we are talking about putting on your air mask first before you help others. Then let it be OK too that you put on your vibration of wellbeing before trying to assist others to find their wellbeing. Get into the Vortex, and then guide others there to join you. You will be so much more effective doing it in this order. Your power and influence is expanded and multiplied when you are in the Vortex and feeling good, so doing it any other way is not efficient, advisable, or even practical. Every night when you sleep, you emerge into a space where you are very allowing. You receive rest and inspiration. You let go of patterns that you might be keeping (for better or for worse) while you are awake. It is a great time to recharge. I have a technique that I have used for years to make that subconscious time even more valuable to your waking vibration: I say a short, allowing affirmation to myself before I fall asleep each night. It’s easy to do, takes almost no time, and you will feel the effects of it as soon as the next morning. Here’s what you do:
Lie quietly in your bed and close your eyes. You should be ready to drift to sleep. Create a present-tense statement that reflects something you are going to receive while you sleep. Let it be one sentence that feels good when you say it. If it is job related, you could say: “My co-workers always enjoy my leadership, and we are a fantastic team.” If it is prosperity related, you could say: “Money and abundance flow to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts.” If you are wanting more friends, you might say: “I’m always in the right place at the right time to meet new and interesting friends.” You get the idea.
Now, what you do is you say the statement to yourself, in your mind, while feeling the truth of the statement. Have no doubt that you are allowing this thing to be attracted to you through the Law of Attraction. The first time you say the statement, emphasize EVERY word, and feel each word as a confirmation of the thing you are allowing. See each word in your mind. For example, if you use the statement for prosperity above, it might flash through your mind like this:
MONEY AND ABUNDANCE FLOW TO ME IN EVER-INCREASING AMOUNTS
Feel the truth of this statement. It is coming to you in this moment. Then, say it again emphasizing only the first word:
MONEY and abundance flow to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts.
Again, feel deeply the truth of this statement. It is coming to you in this moment. Then, say it again emphasizing only the second word:
Money AND abundance flow to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts.
Continue in this pattern until you emphasize each word of the affirmation in order. Finally, emphasize the whole sentence again. The whole sequence would look like this:
MONEY AND ABUNDANCE FLOW TO ME IN EVER-INCREASING AMOUNTS!
MONEY and abundance flow to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts!
Money AND abundance flow to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts!
Money and ABUNDANCE flow to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts!
Money and abundance FLOW to me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts!
Money and abundance flow TO me endlessly in ever-increasing amounts!
Money and abundance flow to ME endlessly in ever-increasing amounts!

At this point, relax and enjoy the fact that your mind is focused, your work is done, and your only job is to let the power of sleep do its work while you rest and receive. Look for evidence of the affirmation throughout the whole next day. You will see it. If you like the feeling of the statement, repeat it again for several nights. There is no need to do more than one statement a night. Just do it once and believe in the truth of it. Let the Law of Attraction respond to your asking without you having to “make it happen.” Enjoy, allow, receive, be grateful, and rest. Be.Love. Hannya-GP

I was walking the other day and started noticing the voices in my head. Before you think I am crazy (which my friends would say I might be) remember that we all talk to ourselves in our mind. There seems to be a constant chatter going on commenting on everything that is happening all the time. Sometimes when I meditate I can get it to calm down but it is mostly always there. You probably have noticed the same thing.
So on my walk I started observing what the chatter in my mind was. I think because of the rhythm I was walking to, I was mostly singing songs to myself. The songs were songs I know or have known from my past. I had to ask the question, “what vibration am I reinforcing with these songs?” I know Law of Attraction always hears what you say and vibrate. The words to the song I had in my head when I started noticing all of this went like this: shot to the heart and you’re to blame…you give love a bad name!” I like this song, and I love Bon Jovi. But I had to decide if it was a good use of my walk and inner talk time to be repeating these words to myself. So for fun, I sang the song but changed the words a bit: love with your heart it keeps you sane…I give love a good name!” Just singing the new words to myself made me laugh and smile, and I swear I could feel my vibration raise. I felt better. So notice today what you say to yourself and see if it raises your vibration. If it doesn’t then change the words, the song, of the theme of your inner voices. It works for me and perhaps you will feel a positive difference in your vibration too. I hope so.
If you don’t tend to sing songs, just notice what you say to yourself in your mind. Are you kind to yourself, or do you put yourself down? Are you optimistic, or do you expect things to go wrong for you? You are in charge of the words you think. You have the control to make a positive change at any time you choose to. Law of Attraction will always respond and magnify your average vibration, and the words you think and the way you feel is what creates this vibration. Thanks for reading. There are times that I can’t relax because I am trying so hard to accomplish something. I get the feeling that if I just try a little harder, or focus a little more I will finally be done doing the thing I am doing. This can certainly be true when the thing is paying the bills, or painting a house, or doing the dishes. But what about when you assign that frame of mind to larger aspects of your life, like attaining enlightenment, perfecting your tennis game, or becoming wealthy and prosperous? In these cases we often assign our happiness to a future time when we will be “done” and can then “arrive” in some new place or mindset.
Have you ever heard yourself say: “I’ll be happy when I can pay these bills’” or a similar statement. When you do this, you use Law of Attraction to your disadvantage. Remember that the Law of Attraction only responds to your vibration and not your words. So saying “I will put off my happiness until later in the future when this thing happens” keeps the thing from happening, and keeps you in an unhappy place.
We are all eternal beings, and there is no “there” to get to. The best way to have everything you want right now is to enjoy everything you have right now. There is a perfection in our imperfection…our journey can’t be completed…because it never ends. So don’t wish for the better day to come. Instead, look for the evidence that makes THIS day your best day so far.
Find as many excuses as you can to love your journey right now. Be grateful for everything you have today. No matter what you are doing today, find the perfection in the process. If you love your NOW, you will start ushering in amazing new NOWS as your future becomes the present over and over again. You will no longer long for your work to be over so you can relax into your wellbeing, because you will already be relaxing into the best part…and the ONLY part we have access to…the present. For all of our Gratitude Planet community located outside of the United States who might not know it, today is Independence Day in the US. It’s a day to reflect on all the gifts we have, all the people that we appreciate, and the freedoms we enjoy in an open society. People are generally off work and are gathering with friends and family for a cookout and a local parade. It’s the perfect day to whip up some Gratitude and Thanks, and now is the perfect moment to let the horses run on a rampage of appreciation and gratitude.
Start with Thanks. Wherever you are right now, take two minutes and mentally list everything you can think of that you are thankful for. Your inner monologue may be something like “Thank you for the weather today, thank you for the air I am breathing, thank you for the clothes I am wearing, thank you for the eyes I use to see, thank you for my mind that helps me think, thank you for the …..” You get to decide what feels best to you.
Next take two minutes to be Grateful. It might go something like this: “I am grateful for my job (or job prospects), and I am grateful for my amazing living space that feels so good to be in, and I am grateful for my interactions with others, both in person and in cyberspace, and I am grateful for my coffee maker that creates a perfect morning drink for me, and I am grateful for…” Again, the words you choose are the right ones for you. Next move to Appreciation. Appreciation feels a little more connected than Gratitude, which is why you should move through Thanks, to Gratitude, and then to Appreciation.
So now, take two minutes and mentally list everything you appreciate. Don’t worry if you repeat some things that you have already said. Your inner monologue may be something like “I appreciate my spouse who loves me so much, and I appreciate my body and all its health and wisdom, and I appreciate my dog who always seems connected and free, and I appreciate Source Energy and its consistent flow of well-being into my experience, and I appreciate…”
If you do these three simple exercises, you will feel a shift in your vibration. You will move up the Vibrational Scale. Your cork will begin to float again…and you will definitely feel an expansion in the way you feel. You will be able to move into love and bliss. You will have done the inner work required to change your world for the better. You will be able to carry this vibration into your whole day. As consciousness having a human experience on planet Earth, we are by nature “doers.” We like to do things, and we like to see results from our actions. It is easy to start seeing our actions as the only way things come to us, and to put artificial pressure on ourselves to “do more” and to “be motivated.” Working harder can be fun, and seeing better and better results feels very good. But if you are seeing fewer results from your efforts than you would like to, it may be a good time to examine how you have been approaching your actions. Have you been inspired, or just motivated? If you have been a regular visitor to GratitudePlanet.com, you know that we encourage being present and expanding into not doing anything sometimes.
Not doing is a powerful way to let go and to allow. However, it doesn’t mean that you should sit in your house and wait for someone to come feed, clothe, and exercise your body for you! There is a time for not doing, and there is a time for doing. If you are in the habit of waking up to a full run and going about your day at light speed, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed, especially if the pace has been this way for a while. If so, try this approach for a week (if you need to rise earlier to get quiet time in your household, do so): wake and list ten things you appreciate or are grateful for in your life. Hold them to you and be silent. Expand into the wonderful feeling of these gifts in your life. Sit quietly and picture yourself doing the things you love to do. See yourself sailing, or painting, or singing, or dancing, or laughing with others, or enjoying your new house, or your new relationship, or whatever…you know best and you get to choose. Don’t put limits on your own mind, and just allow yourself to experience these thoughts as if they were already a manifested experience in your reality.
As you do this exercise, you will start to receive important information from the Universe in the form of new pictures in your imagination, or in the form of a feeling of inspiration. You will come to a new awareness and clarity about what only you can do this day. You will get a clearer sense of your priorities and goals for the day, and you will be inspired to move forward into action. When you feel this, stop the meditation exercise and start the action side of your day, following the inspiration you have received.
Actions that are undertaken with uninspired motivation are harder to accomplish, less fun, and leave you feeling worse than before you did the action. Inspired action puts you into the flow of the Universe, so you enjoy the experience more, you have more ease in the process, and you have perfect timing with resources appearing effortlessly as they are needed. You will attract the things you need through Law of Attraction, and you will feel the perfection of the process more and more. Inspired action is easy and invigorating. Motivation can be draining over time. So today, notice how you are moving into your doing phase. Try this inspiration meditation for a week and journal all the things you accomplish. It’s Memorial Day in the United States, and I just love an extra day to just remember the things that I am grateful for. It makes me think of the song “Let There Be Peace On Earth” because of the message it contains: “Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me.” It makes sense that we should be like the thing we want, because that’s how the Law of Attraction lines you up with things. Law of Attraction draws things to you by sensing your vibration and matching it with other thoughts, feelings, and experiences that are similar. And as we have been discussing in others posts on GP, giving your attention to something is all you have to do to start vibrating like it. You are what you think, and what you interact with and focus on becomes your point of attraction…meaning that the Universe is bringing you more and more of it constantly. The phrase “and let it begin with me” is very wise advice for deliberate creators because it puts the emphasis right where it belongs: on you!
When you want to attract something to you, you need to vibrate and become one with it first. In practical terms, if you want more money and prosperity, you must first begin to feel like you have more money and prosperity. If you want an intimate relationship with a new person, you have to feel like the person is already there. If you want peace for the Earth, you must first make peace with yourself and the people in your immediate vicinity.
Try this today: make a list of several words that you think best describe what you want to see in others, or in the world. Only you know the best words for you today, but some of these might include: honest people, caring friends, peaceful world, loving family, prosperous economy, thriving health, etc.. Choose one and decide that you are going to let this greater desire begin with YOU! Become quiet, breathe calmly and deeply, and “see” yourself having achieved this greater desire. Feel how you would feel if it were already yours to have. Imagine others interacting with you and commenting on this thing you now have, and how great you look and feel having achieved it. Project this feeling outward toward everything in the Universe. Expand into the knowing that you were able to align with these desires easily, and that you can do it again…easily…on any subject you choose. Give thanks and end the visualization with the knowledge that you have literally created a point of attraction that will create magic in your day. You are now ready to line up with evidence of your alignment through perfect timing, “chance” encounters, and new and exciting developments in all areas of your life. Stick to one or two desires for two to four weeks, and just enjoy the process of already having what you want to see in the world. Say to yourself, “Let there be _____ on Earth, and let it be me, breathe me, and live through me right now.” Try it and let us know how it worked for you. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

Today I offer my TOP 12 reasons I can think of to be grateful and appreciative. What would your list look like, based on your day?
1. Thank You for the way I awoke refreshed this morning, feeling good and in the Vortex.
2. I am grateful for Law of Attraction that always matches me up with more of what I think, feel and do.
3. I appreciate my partner who had sweet things to say to me over a cup of coffee. Even my coffee smiled at me!
4. I love the way the sun came up to shine a clear ray at me and warm my face.
5. I am grateful for my car that starts every day and gets me to work safely.
6. I give thanks for the safe drivers on the freeways who are clear minded and connected.
7. I give thanks for my iPod (and car input jack) that is always ready to serenade me with my favorite songs.
8. I appreciate my job for the prosperity and fun it brings to my daily life.
9. I love my family for being who they are and for loving me as I am.
10. I am grateful for the smiles I receive from strangers I see while walking the sidewalks of my city.
11. I appreciate the internet for making my life easier to manage and easier to navigate through.

I enjoyed Lisa’s post yesterday about Lao Tzu and his advice to do nothing. Doing nothing is a big part of allowing everything. There are many other spiritual teachers that guide you toward the state of just “Being” as well. When you are in a peaceful and calm state of mind, a place where you are one with the thoughts of the Universe, you are truly one with everything. In fact, when you can get to this mental state, you are in an allowing place where the Law of Attraction can work magic in your life. It is a great space where everything you are asking for, both with your words and with your vibrations, can easily flow to you in a series of perfect manifestations. It is a magical state. The only question left to ask is: “why don’t I find myself in this state of mind more often than I do?” The answer is intimately connected to this question: “What are you doing that keeps you from entering this state more often?” You see, you are the only one who can keep you away from your natural state of just being. When you stop resisting the flow of energy that the Universe is sending to you, you automatically connect to your well being. So it’s not so much about trying to do anything. It’s more about letting go of the things you do that keep it all from you. For example, you may do your best to meditate everyday. But when you meditate, do you let go of the chatter of your brain and just trust in the magic of the moment? Are you afraid to let go because you might “waste” the time that you could be using to solve the problems of your day? To just BE, you must BELIEVE that all is well, and you must TRUST that you are receiving powerfully through your NOT doing.
To enter Being, you must Believe that your work is done for the moment. You must allow your fear to melt into knowing. You must free yourself from worrying about the details and affirm that Law of Attraction will manage the details for you. When you try to Be without believing, you will doubt yourself, you will be frustrated that more is not coming to you sooner, and you will feel very alone and apart from Source Energy. So today, relax and believe that all is well, because it really is! Let yourself find peace in this moment, right now. You can be excited for what may come in the next moment, but believe in this sacred space and let now be the best moment so far. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

The sixth century B.C. philosopher Lao Tzu is sometimes called the father of Taoism. In the 37th verse of his text, the Tao Te Ching, he wrote the following:
The Tao does nothing,
yet leaves nothing undone.
If powerful men and women
could center themselves in it,
the whole world would be transformed by itself, in its natural rhythms.
People would be content
with their simple, everyday lives,
in harmony, and free of desire.
When life is simple,
pretenses fall away;
our essential nature shines through.
When there is no desire,
all things are at peace.
When there is silence,
one finds the anchor of the universe
within oneself.
These words still have a powerful message for us today. Have you ever considered that doing everything you need to do can be enhanced by periods of doing nothing at all? It makes sense that rest and relaxation must be spread out in between periods of intense activity, but I am talking about really doing nothing. Often people mistake doing nothing for watching TV, or sitting and thinking about what they have to get done. How about taking a walk and letting the task be walking only, and not solving problems or making “to do” lists? Sit quietly for an extended period of time, and let your task be to just be. Allow your mind to stop the chatter, and let yourself relax, expand, and allow. If this is hard at first, focus on your breathing, counting breaths and feeling what it feels like to be there in the moment. Don’t feel guilty that you may be wasting time. In your connection you will recharge and be more productive later. In fact, if you can really do this and stop your mind’s chatter, even for fifteen minutes, you will begin to be able to take this calm-centered awareness into other parts of your life. Your life will feel more centered and less dramatic. You will be in the Vortex. Things will unfold more naturally. Law of Attraction will line you up with everything in a perfect order: you will be in the right place at the right time. So go out today and find a time to do nothing. The rules of the Law of Attraction are quite easy to understand, but are perhaps more difficult to practice deliberately. Simply stated, you attract to you the things that match your vibration. Your life, then, unfolds perfectly based on what the Universe “hears” you asking for. You never stop asking, however. You ask with every thought, with every thing you observe, and with every interaction you have with everything. We are all perpetual askers. Another way to say this is that you ask for what you want by focusing on it, and you ask for what you don’t want by focusing on it. Both (wanted and unwanted) are drawn into your experience by your attention to them. It makes sense, then, to give your full attention to the things you want so that you can manifest the wanted things into your experience.
If you have been playing with these ideas, but are a little frustrated that things are not happening more quickly for you, you may be taking score too soon. Once you have asked for something, usually by living some contrast that clarifies what you do want…you need to change your focus slightly. If you keep thinking of yourself as someone who needs the new thing, you may be keeping yourself in a pattern where the Universe brings you more of the same. Universal Forces line you up with things that match the essence of where you are…but the Law of Attraction doesn’t care if you are experiencing something, or just living it in your imagination: it matches you up with more of where you think you are vibrationally. For example, if you ask for money because you don’t have much, the Universe “hears” you and lines you up with more money. But the vibration you need to align with to manifest it fully is “I have more money” and not “hey, where’s my money!” It’s an amazing Catch 22 here…you can’t have it until you feel you already have it…but as long as you don’t have it, it’s tricky to feel like you have it.
Here is something I suggest to get you through the doubt stages of manifestation. Once you have identified something you are asking for, be it prosperity, a new relationship, a better job, or whatever, relax and affirm that your “work” is completed. Visualize the essence of this thing in your mind, and see it already coming to you in full form and completion. Feel the complete thrill of having it already. See yourself enjoying it in as many ways as you can imagine. See yourself telling others how much fun you are having with the thing in your experience. Picture it, but more importantly feel and love the essence of it right now.
Once you have done this visualization (and do it as often as you can), start looking right away for evidence of it coming to you, and be grateful and appreciative for every sign you see. If you are looking for more money, pick up that penny in the street and tell yourself “see, I am prosperous and the Universe brings me unexpected income. This is just the tip of the ice burg for me.” Resist the temptation to say something like “just a penny? Universe, I never have enough. You didn’t HEAR me, did you?” If you look for the small clues, and affirm that they are attached to bigger and bigger clues that eventually usher in the full manifestation, you will rejoice in the smaller evidence as if it were the whole experience coming into your full awareness. The clues ARE there. Your wellbeing is assured. Let go, look for evidence of it, and appreciate the magic of the Law of Attraction. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

There are times in your life when you know exactly what you want, and you can get very focused in terms of manifesting it. There are other times, however, where you can seem to be waiting for inspiration to take hold and guide you toward the next thing you want. Either way, life has gifts for you to enjoy. When you have been experiencing periods of contrast, you get a clear picture of what you want to manifest. For example, if you get really sick, then you create a very strong desire for health…and Law of Attraction answers immediately by creating a vibrational YOU who is in better health. If you have financial challenges that get chronic, then you create a very strong desire for prosperity…and Law of Attraction answers immediately by creating a vibrational YOU who is experiencing immense wealth and prosperity. You job, once this has all been done, is to become the new you with the expanded experience. It isn’t about attracting the new thing. You are literally becoming a new you, experiencing a new vibration with an expanded perspective. This is important because most people try to allow the new thing from the place where they are standing…in essence, trying to vibrate differently from the same vibrational standpoint. To move ahead into a new vibration you need to relax, allow, and be willing to be the new you. Yet, your ego perspective will do it’s best to talk you into staying in the same patterns that you have established. The ego likes to hold on to what it has for fear of losing everything. Yet, there is no end to the expansion of the Universe, and you will always be alive in some form. If you want to experience a new manifestation, play with the idea of being a new you…the idea of changing enough to be the new you with the new thing. If you do this, you will more easily imagine yourself in the new vibration, having a thrilling experience in the new place as the new you. It’s easy to mislead ourselves and think that our happiness resides somewhere in our future, in a time where we have overcome our obstacles and we are “complete.” In fact, you probably know, or are related to, quite a few people who have been putting their happiness “on hold” so that they can finish up what they are working on presently. I am coming to realize that “completion” is some sort of unattainable ideal, because the nature of the Universe is one of constant expansion. If you could reach a point (and this is impossible) where you were perfect, complete, finished, and done growing, you would lose the gift of evolution to new ways of being. You would reach a place where expansion was no longer possible. You would have nothing left to draw you forward toward new ideas. You would be bored, bored, bored, BORED! You will never be done growing and expanding, and this is excellent news. Because of this fact, it makes sense to make peace with this reality by acknowledging that where you are right now is exactly where you need to be. Where you are is simply where you are…period.
The beauty of this fact (that you are as finished right now as you will ever be) is that you can enjoy the unfolding of your life…right now. The present is your point of power, and you have everything at your finger tips right now that can thrill you and give you boundless satisfaction. You have most likely experienced wanting something with all your heart. You thought about it, dreamed about it, and held it as your pure desire over time. Then, almost suddenly, it’s yours. Don’t you remember how you felt at this point? It feels really good to manifest the thing you wanted…but it never feels quite as good, or lasts quite as long as you imagined it would. Almost immediately, you have a new object of desire, and you stand in a new place launching new ideas that you will strive for. It simply never ends.
So I suggest that today you take the opportunity to note the perfection of your present time and place. Everything in the Universe is available to you in this moment. The Law of Attraction has lined you up perfectly with everything you need. There is nothing to wait for…you have arrived…and you will never arrive. Don’t postpone your connection to Source Energy, because it is never in the future…it’s always in your present, available in abundance and in inexhaustible amounts. Don’t wait to be happy. Accept and allow your happiness right now. Your present is perfectly imperfect. Love it and expand through it. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP

I had a minor revelation a couple of nights ago as I pondered how I felt and how I was interacting with others. I realized, in a deeper way than ever before, that I can offer little to others if I am not connected to Source Energy myself. When you feel connected, you feel good. Connection feels like fun, expansion, gratitude, and appreciation. Feeling good is your number one job, especially if you want to be of value to others. And yet, we have been told by many that the best way to serve others is through hard work and sacrifice. The message was something like “don’t be selfish, put others first, give more than you take, and do it as long as you can keep it up. Someday, after your death, you will be rewarded.” I am sure that you have received this message in some form, at some time, from people in your life. Here are five things to remember as you put all this into perspective:
1. There is no shortage of Source Energy. It exists in abundance and will never run out.
2. You are worthy to receive Source Energy. There is no test to pass to make you worthy. It is yours for the taking, and it is free.
3. When you allow Source Energy to flow through you, you have everything to give. When you are disconnected from Source Energy, you have very little to give, and what you try to do from sheer work won’t make as much of a difference to others.
4. When you are motivated without being connected to Source Energy, people will be less inspired by your words and actions. Your intention to uplift others will be watered down. When you are inspired through your connection to Source Energy, people will sense your enthusiasm, your genuine gratitude and appreciation, and your full belief that all is well.
5. The Law of Attraction works the same if you are connected to Source Energy, as it does if you are NOT connected to Source Energy. So it is impossible, by Universal law, to attract something different than your own vibrational offering. Through your conscious connection to Source Energy, you set the bar that determines your power, expansion, allowing, and value to others.
The insight I received the other evening happened when I was feeling good while talking over dinner. The conversation was fun and expanding, and I had so much to say that felt good while I said it. At one point the conversation, for what ever reason, turned to a topic that didn’t feel as good. Without thinking, I joined in and helped the conversation feel worse and worse, adding comments and stories that moved me away from my Source Energy. I started moving down the vibrational scale until I felt pretty disconnected and even sad. I could see that my friends were also feeling the “buzz kill” of the conversation. Now, from my disconnection I decided to uplift the table by saying things that felt a little better. However, I was trying to offer these words before I felt better myself. Saying the words actually made me feel worse, and I could tell that it felt awkward to the others too. So then I remained quiet for a short time, maybe two minutes, and just thought thoughts of gratitude and appreciation. Talking to myself felt easier than trying to change others from my point of disconnection, and within two minutes I had a good-feeling vibration rolling again. My next offering to the group was met with smiles and felt like it made a positive difference to the vibration of the group. Notice today when you move ahead in your connection to Source Energy, and when you just move ahead to make something happen. Start being more sensitive to the way you feel when you are working, and when you are flowing with Source. Flow more, work less, and be filled with love and gratitude. Enjoy this most amazing day! No too long ago I read a book by Macolm Gladwell called “Blink.” This book examines the information we receive in the first two seconds we meet someone, see something, interact with something, or experience something new. He talks about how we receive every relevant aspect of information that we need to know about a situation in two seconds or less, or in the time it takes to blink. While Gladwell doesn’t like the term “intuition” and consciously avoids the term in his book, I like the term and I think his ideas can absolutely be linked to a discussion of intuition. The dictionary defines intuition this way:

the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning : we shall allow our intuition to guide us.
• a thing that one knows or considers likely from instinctive feeling rather than conscious reasoning : your insights and intuitions as a native speaker are positively sought.
Intuition is the path through which information can be received without excessive interference by the Ego. Have you ever noticed that if you think too much about anything, you can either talk yourself into or out of doing it? In the process of thinking too much, you may doubt your decision and start avoiding making any decision at all? Likewise, how many times have you been struck in the moment by a feeling that feels absolutely right…and a desire to move ahead in full connection? I think that everything we need to know IS there for us to discover in the exact moment we need it. I believe that intuition is always present to guide us through the day. If we choose to hear it and act upon it, I think we have an opportunity to live a connected, magical and spontaneous life.
The Law of Attraction is connected to intuition, of course. When you ask through your constant vibration of living, the Universe lines you up with people and events that match your present point of attraction. But the Law of Attraction is also gently nudging you toward more and more fulfillment too, and is helping you move toward the things you want. For example, if you are asking for more peace and quiet, and you are traveling by plane, you will encounter (potentially) things that are not peaceful nor quiet in your day. However, if you have been relaxing and allowing yourself to be centered, and if you are willing to listen to your intuition, magic is possible. You may be walking through the terminal and your intuition tells you to take a certain route to the gate…you listen and take the route…and you experience a nice, peaceful walk to the gate. Little did you know that there was a person arguing with their friend along the other route that you didn’t take, and that experience was not part of your experience because of your decision to follow your intuition in the first second you heard it. You may have an intuition to change your seat at check in (or not to change it) and then find yourself surrounded by quiet, pleasant people, rather than unhappy people or loud crying infants. Trusting your intuition can be a challenge, but the more you do it, the better you get at it. Get “In To” your life with a closer walk with your own intuition. Play with it and see how it works for you. Be easy about it and enjoy the gifts you will be led toward…and be sure to notice the wonderful gifts you are given. The Chinese philosopher Confucius (551-479 BCE) is often attributed the quote “Choose a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” There is so much wisdom in this saying, and it seems to be a major component of living a happy life with purpose. When you love your job, every day is a day filled with growth and expansion. You are able to commit yourself to being present because you don’t have the distraction of wishing you were somewhere else, or wishing away the time while you feel bored and unengaged. There are few (if any) jobs that don’t have some aspect of “have to’s” associated with them. But I know that loving your job spills over into everything else you do, and the happiest people I know seem to have fulfilling and meaningful work that they like to one degree of another.
But what about if you don’t love your job, or what if you really dislike your job? You have two choices. You can use this feeling of unhappiness to launch a new desire for a better job, and then you can be ready to act when the time for inspired action arrives. Or you can just complain, tell a sad story to anyone who will listen, and whip up an amazingly disconnected feeling every time you think of your work. Obviously only the first choice is the productive choice. But it can be difficult to see something positive inside something you have whipped up to a negative feeling/vibration. Remember that the Law of Attraction can only bring you more of what you have, so it is never in your best interest to perpetuate a story that feels bad. Instead, you have to tell a different story to anyone who will listen. You have to look for the small things you love about your job that you might have been subconsciously ignoring. Take these small things and turn them into BIG things. For example, you may not enjoy attending meetings in your job. Instead of waking and dreading the day because of a 1:00 PM meeting you have to attend, be grateful for the coffee break you will have with your friend at 10:00 AM. Create an inner dialogue that is playful, even for tasks that are repetitive. I know that when I have to, say, stuff 1,000 envelopes I find some sort of game to play, with my own made-up rules and with crazy goals that make me laugh. To someone watching, it looks like I am just going about my business and working. But my inner thinking is amusing me to no end. If you hate your job, remember that you have the real power to sustain that vibration or to change that vibration. You can make your vocation your vacation, with just a little change of focus and with a little bit of redirection in your inner speak.
And here’s the most important part of all of this. If you are stuck in a job you dislike, and you find a way to love it and enjoy it…it’s highly likely that you will be offered another job that you like even more. When you hate your job, the Law of Attraction will keep you in it because it matches you with more of what you are experiencing. You may be fired, but you will attract another job you hate. So if you choose (right now) to love your job more, then more opportunities for work you enjoy will be made available to you in very short order. Do what you love and love what you do…as much as possible…and let the magic or your life take a firm hold and amaze you with every turn. Enjoy this most amazing day! Chris-GP
